Another Monday; Another lost...
 

I was wondering as I sit here eating my purple donut (it was free) and listening to the glee of Ravens fans; how do you cope with a lost?


I tried to avoid everything expect for this web site NFL related. Can't watch Sportscenter; avoid King's Monday Morning QB article, etc...IT sucks.

This is exactly why I soaked in week one because I know in my gut the reality was this.

I think it is harder for us out market Skins fans because there is no shoulder to cry on if you will.

So what you do to get over a lost?

I just hope that Dallas, and the hometown Colts lose. That always makes.me feel better 1 out of 2 ain't bad.

There are definately some bright signs to look forward to. The team finally has a franchise quarterback that we can all root for. Alfred Morris reminds me more and more of my idol John Riggins, and I love how he attacks the defense. There are some good young recievers like Hankerson, Garcon, and Robinson to work with. Kerrigan is an absolute beast, and Riley looks like the future Fletcher. And the team is really only a few key positions away from some real success.

Dan Snyder has been very quiet and uninvolved. Bruce Allen knows how to work a contract. The team has a terrific history, and the Redskin cheerleaders are smoking hot. Better days are coming.

To the OP's question, today I will immerse myself in work (yikes!) so that I can be distracted until tomorrow.

Tomorrow I will start getting up hopes for this coming Sunday's game.

I call my friend, who's a Lost Prevention Officer at a nearby retail store, and ask him what the proper procedure is to prevent the next lost.

hahahaha.....omg, some idiot fan just called in on 106.5 talking pure shit about Sav Rocca. My god there are some huge idiots out there. We have one of the best punters in the league, and he's talking smack about one of our best players on special teams. Also pinned them within the 5 yards that led to our defensive TD and he's blaming the punter.

you accept the fact that we aren't that good, and think of the positives, like finally having a franchise QB, having a young team, having one of the best offenses in the NFL, having a great rookie RB. You also become a fan of the NFL, and not just the redskins. If I just watched our games I would be a depressed soul, I tune into other games and enjoy the game of football. The sunday and monday nighters are great to get me over football. Go to those sites and listen to the criticism of our team. Its good. That way you know whats wrong with it, and the more you hear it from sites, the more you start hitting reality that you will have to accept the fact that we aren't a great team yet.

Outside of the playoff year in '99 and the two Gibbs playoff years, it's the same $hit for the last 20 years....sad to say but getting apathetic to it.

Side note: if we keep running the f-ing read-option 10-15 times per game we won't have our franchise QB too long either. If the team isn't showing drastic signs of improvement by year end it's time for the whole coaching staff to go.

SS33 we are in the same boat. The losing has just worn on me to the point I don't even want watch skins games anymore.

You'll get laughed at for saying Mike should go but I agree with you. Here's a serious question, what's the difference between him and Jim Zorn? Honestly. Zorn went 8-8 right? I was a huge fan of bringing Mike in but this is his 3 rd season and if guys like Jim harbaugh can change a horrible team over night then Mike should be winning more than losing by now.

I agree. Letting him go at the end of this season (assuming this season is repeat in standings) would probably be detrimental to RGIII's development. Things are starting to work pretty well on offense - despite not having our number one receiver for almost three games. You almost have to keep Mike Shanahan (and Kyle) for the reminder of Mike's contract. By then, you have a well seasoned veteran QB in RGIII, so a coaching change would probably not be as bad on Griffin as it would be one season into his career.

The defense on the other hand...................................
