Agree with your take on how we should have helped him in this game. Disagree with the pick though. I was not impressed with him when i watched him in college. Just my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Falcons at Redskins Post Game Thoughts
All I care about right now is Griffins status.

Re: Falcons at Redskins Post Game Thoughts
So RG3 didn't know the score or what quarter we were in...yeah definitely a concussion

I can't argue with that logic. |

Posted this on the other thread.
Our defense did outstanding today all things considered. Time of possession: Atlanta- 36:50 Washington- 23:10 Third Down Conversions Atlanta- 9-17 Washington- 1-9 This loss is ALL on the offense. Dropped passes. Failed executions on 3rd down, inaccurate throws and not understanding when to slide or throw away the ball. Offensive line did a good job as well. I put more of this loss on the skills players than anybody else. Also, a big FU to Cundiff. |

Re: Falcons at Redskins Post Game Thoughts
Kirk Cousins had a 97 QB rating for a half in his first NFL game (coming off the bench cold too), and THIS is what we are bitching about?
 Kirk played better than RGIII today. |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
To clarify, I loved that they drafted a QB. Probably would have preferred Foles over Cousins, but he wasn't available. And I don't have anything against Cousins. But I knew during the Senior Bowl that they had (mainly Mike) fallen in love with Cousins and so I was prepared for us to take him, even with RG3. |
Re: Falcons at Redskins Post Game Thoughts
Atlanta is a better team than we are. We can complain about certain things but bottom line is they're a better team and the better team won. But we must cut Cundiff tonight and get some kickers in here tomorrow.

Dude has to be smarter if he's going to survive. He can talk all that "tough guy" bullshit all he wants in front of the camera, but he can ask Vick first hand what not sliding or throwing a ball away will do to your career. Already hurt within 5 games of his first season. Maybe we need to bring back Zorn for the sliding drill. |

That is probably up for debate but either way if i personally thought he wasnt that good than im not going to think 1)he is a longterm serviceable backup Or 2)he is ever going to be worth more than what we gave up for him Again just my opinion. Seems like alot of people have a higher opinion of cousins than me. Which has little to do with today - tough spot for your first action - i havent been fond of his skills since his college days. Personally i had no problem what so ever with rex as a backup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Falcons at Redskins Post Game Thoughts
Positives:
1. No moral victories, but team showed alot of heart. 2. Alfmo 3. Kerrigan 4. Big time play by Santana 5. Thought the Oline played maybe their best game 6. Banks had some good returns 7. Haslett brought a decent game plan, Kudos to the defense. Matty Ice had to throw the ball a ton to get those yards. Negatives: 1. Been several times where RG3 should have thrown the ball away and takes a vicious hit. Well it caught up with him today, hopefully he has learned. 2. Garcon just had a couple miserable drops. 3. Billy Cundiff. 4. 3rd down conversions and Red Zone offense not good today. 3rd down is officailly a huge problem. 5. Didnt get enough pressure on the Ryan on 3rd downs. Orakpo absence hurts us the most in 3rd down. Cant hang the head, just gotta realize the mistakes, learn and comeback ready to play next week. I think more positives than negatives |

Exactly, with or without RG3 we weren't winning this game today. |

Re: Falcons at Redskins Post Game Thoughts
Lack of 3rd down conversions are a HUGE issue and it think it has been masked by the gaudy offensive yards number the team has been putting up.
With our mediocre (at most times) defense, we can't be having such a huge deficiency on the offense. |
Re: Falcons at Redskins Post Game Thoughts
he lost yardage when he could have thrown it away. only one of a handful of bad plays, he's forgiven.
kerrigan is an animal. still only one game back... |

I don't think you can make that assumption. RG3 was leading the Skins down the field before he got injured. And there was still at that point, an entire quarter of football to play. We know what RG3 can do with less than 2 minutes. I think had he not gotten injured, we had a real shot at minimum, overtime, if not a close win. |
Anyway backup schmakup.
Thoughts are this 1) please let rg3 be ok and please let him NEVER do that again. For god sakes run out of bounds and live to fight another day. He would have put the team on his back at the end and won this game! 2) our offense and our defense havent played a good game simultaneously since the 1990's. 3)cundiff has to be let go now and bring back gano or rackers. Idc. 4) morris looks great again Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Falcons at Redskins Post Game Thoughts
^you can be sure everyone is impressing on RG3 how important it is to go out of bounds in those situations. I think he's smart enough to listen after that bell ringer.
|
I wonder if we will see Rex or Cousins IF RG-3 cant go next week.

This was a tough lesson that hopefully he will get something out of. |
Re: Falcons at Redskins Post Game Thoughts
I just like the fact the team is competing each week. I mos def feel the best about this team since Gibbs 2.0.

Matt held onto the ball for little while on some plays and then made the chain move and yet we could almost not get to him at all. Perhaps we need to try other players beside Jackson on the pass rushing situations. |

Re: Falcons at Redskins Post Game Thoughts
I have to agree with Tevor Matich on Comcast; the kid touched the hot stove and got his hand burned, but hopefully he's going to have learned his lesson.
RGIII is vital to this team. The shot he took today was all on him. He's great kid with a bright future. I'm glad he got this lesson out of the way early. |

Re: Falcons at Redskins Post Game Thoughts
I don't know why people are so high on Kerrigan this game. Yes he had a pick 6 gift-wrapped for him. But he was stymied the whole game, particularly by the Falcons' right tackle. Practically zero pass rush.
Cut. Cunwhiff. Tomorrow. Why couldn't we get the ball to Garcon? Morris is still a beast, and our OL seems great at ZBS this season. Kudos to them and our OL coaches. |

I don't think those two picks happen. I don't know if I just cant see it with other teams but it seems our D-line never gets holding calls. Seems to happen quite often. |
Re: Falcons at Redskins Post Game Thoughts
1. Lack of qb pressure is becoming way too normal this season.
2. We need to find a nickle/dime MLB, because our guys can't cover. 3. Need better hands from the receivers, especially at the beginning trying to get into a rhythm. 4. Still getting killed from the right tackle side on offensive line. 5. Cut Cundiff, he has no confidence, and we can't wait for him to recover. |

Re: Falcons at Redskins Post Game Thoughts
Why couldn't we get the ball to Garcon?
Garcon was targeted 7 times, but only caught 3. He was a big reason as to why he didn't perform well. This was my issue with him in Indy. Was inconsistent with his play. RGIII wasn't all that accurate either as he should have been. |
