Should Mike Shanahan Be Canonized?

Now that he's won a "must win" against the hated Eagles, while legendary turn around artists such as Jeff Fisher and Greg Schiano failed to win, is it time to consider sainthood for Mike Shanahan when he leaves this earth?

(think of this as a fresh "Should Mike Shanahan be Fired" thread)

Yes. Immediately.

We also need to preserve his brain for science.

We won and I'm happy

Yes. RGIII is named the HC, Off Coord, and kick returner during the same press conference.

Hmm. Might have spoken too soon on Tampa. I voted no sense of humor so those of you that feel that way don't feel alone

If the Redskins were coached by Andy Reid, RGIII would have had 5 TDs instead of 4. Fire Mike Shanahan now! </sarcasm>

Hell no!!! Beat the cowboys first, then the Giants, Baltimore, etc.

Re: Should Mike Shanahan Be Canonized?

Lol. This is already superior to the "fire Shanahan" thread.

Just win 3 SBs, Mike. And you can take your rightful place next to Saint Gibbs.

I'm agnostic so I had to vote for rushmore. Still he failed to cover McCoy on those screens in the first half, so his bust should be smaller.

Excited to see a moderator voted the same as me, cause I didn't laugh. Hail to not being in last place. Love it. The pigeons got their buts kicked. Glad Vick was out. The Gle's have a lot of work to do. The Skins never win that easily, and from my perspective there was a lot of room for improvement, and they still won by 25.

gotta say I was getting down on the team but this win, and the manner they did it, makes these next two games huge. 1 win and we are in the hunt and 2 wins puts us tied for first(assuming packers beat the giants). pretty good turnaround if it happens

If we win next week it will be "We need to lock up Mike Shanahan for the next couple of years"

Re: Should Mike Shanahan Be Canonized?

I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the idea of giving a guy a five year contract, swearing to be patient knowing the job may take five years, and then wanting to fire him halfway thru his contract because the job isn't done yet.

JoeRedskin 11-18-2012 11:06 PM

Sorry. The game was rather a bore. Sure, a couple of long passes... but, really, who would enjoy play calling like that?

Personally I want to see progress at the midway point - otherwise I want to cut my losses and start fresh while my prize posession - RG-3 is still a spring chicken. Maybe not your take on the situation but its not mind boggling that the 5 win seasons are making people wonder if it was a good hire is it? This all however is a discussion for another thread. This thread is about how we are going to honor Mike for that friggin big win today against the birds! We manage a win on turkey day and couple that with a Gints loss to the Packers and the Redskins are playing for the division lead on MNF against the Giants! - AWESOME
