oh no he knows all our plays

Re: NY Midgets sign some has been RB named Ryan Torain
LOL No, he doesn't. Even if Coughlin grills him on our playbook, it won't matter much. We are running a different offense now with RG3.

lmao desperate much gnats?

Re: NY Midgets sign some has been RB named Ryan Torain
Maybe we should turn around and sign the lineman (Selvish Capers) they released to f^%K with them.
|
Re: NY Midgets sign some has been RB named Ryan Torain
didn't capers used to play here anyways?
|
Re: NY Midgets sign some has been RB named Ryan Torain
Selvish Capers was a 7th round draft pick of the Redskins in 2010 or 2011.

Re: NY Midgets sign some has been RB named Ryan Torain
The giants are looking to get an edge any way they can. They're trying to find a way to stop or slow down one part of the redskins offense - the zone running. But I think it's just a sign of how worried the giants and every other opposing team is of the redskins offense. The only thing that any redskins opponent can hope for is that RGIII has an off day or the wideouts drop a lot of passes. Trying to make the redskins offense one dimensional is futile because there are more than just 2 dimensions to their offense. Actually in some ways- trying to stop one area of the skins offense could backfire and instead make the opposing defense one dimensional or limited in covering other areas.

Re: NY Midgets sign some has been RB named Ryan Torain
Justin Tuck even admitted that the task at hand of facing RG3 makes him lose sleep at night. You know their D. coordinator Perry Fewell is up late looking at film of the Redskins offense trying to find some weakness. He's probably losing more sleep than Tuck is.

Re: NY Midgets sign some has been RB named Ryan Torain
Giants were down to 2 halfbacks,Bradshaw who has health issues and Wilson ...a rookie, that is why they signed 2 backs .
|
Re: NY Midgets sign some has been RB named Ryan Torain
i seriously doubt torain is going to give them a ton of insight. like giatone said, this is purely due to injuries.

Re: NY Midgets sign some has been RB named Ryan Torain
^ Jerry Reese could have signed Ryan Grant or any other free agent running back that was available. Torain has been out of football an entire year. You mean bringing him in for a workout and signing him to a deal was the best they could do? Nay!!! They brought him in to pick his brains about the Redskins playbook. Torain is the second former Redskins running back the Giants brought in this year(Andre Brown). This is similar to spygate.
|
Re: NY Midgets sign some has been RB named Ryan Torain
We don't even run the same offense now, Torain isn't going to help them much.

Torain never played in our current offense. He has nothing to share. |
Re: NY Midgets sign some has been RB named Ryan Torain
I don't think Torrain is going to help much if it's a "information" type of signing, but it's fun to think it is. Of course, didn't the Giants sign one of our wide receivers last year right before our game? Who was that guy's name again? lol

We didn't have the option offense when he was here. You can take the tinfoil hat off now. :silly: |
Re: NY Midgets sign some has been RB named Ryan Torain
Ryan Torrain is very familiar with the zone run blocking scheme. This is the staple of both Shanahans' offense. This has been the bread and butter of their offense. I don't think it's going to help the giants but in addition to their rb injury issues- they also picked up Torrain to try to get some kind of competitive edge. It's not going to help, but they gotta try.
The only way we will know for sure that this is the main reason is - if the giants cut him sometime next week. |

No, we didn't run the option offense when Torain was a Redskin. But he knows the other offense that is still fundamentally apart of the Redskins offense. |

They picked him up because they need a RB and he's a pretty good one. Shannahan's ZBs has been around for decades. Torrain wouldnt be able to tell them anything about it they dont already know. |
Re: NY Midgets sign some has been RB named Ryan Torain
^ Yeah, it still bothers me that the Midgets could have signed Ryan Grant or any other running back free agent. To sign a running back who hasn't played in an entire year is questionable. Torain wasn't even apart of any NFL team's training camp.

Re: NY Midgets sign some has been RB named Ryan Torain
Ryan Torrain doesn't know anymore about the Skins offense than the Giants can't learn by watching the Skins previous games. Everyone knows what's coming with the triple option, its either a run up the middle, a run by RGIII to the outside or a playaction fake bomb to Robinson. You just have to pick what you are stopping. No mystery, just better execution.

Yup, it all comes down to RG3 and his cat and mouse game with the ball fakes. Sometimes it's hard on TV to tell who has the ball, I can only imagine what it's like on the field. |

you know, that would be an interesting stat - which offense fools the cameraman the most? it seems that several times a game, the cameraman starts to follow the wrong player. most of the time, the cameraman, recovers pretty quickly, but its still noticeable. |
Re: NY Midgets sign some has been RB named Ryan Torain
Just reading this thread for the first time b/c I was of the "yeah? so what?" mentality about this signing. Imagine my surprise to see the paranoia over signing a RB who has been out of the league a year, never played with RGIII and was pretty much a one-trick pony when he was here.
I HOPE they play Torrain. I would suggest we know more about him than he does of this offense. He's a banger, with limited speed and bad vision. Essentially, he's Morris without the vision, patience or quickness. |
Re: NY Midgets sign some has been RB named Ryan Torain
I think Redskins4Ever has some peculiar obsession with the Giants (and I guess their fans) like he's determined to wipe them off the face of the earth, so to speak

LOL Smoot, to be honest with you, I don't have an obsession with them. I'm just extremely sick of them. But I'm not the only one who agrees that Ryan Torain being signed by the NYG is a questionable move by their front office. |
Re: NY Midgets sign some has been RB named Ryan Torain
Questionable move? It's similar to us signing Grant earlier in the year. Just a move for depth due to injuries. If they don't like him they'll cut him and move on to someone else.

When did Andre Brown play for the Redskins? |
Re: NY Midgets sign some has been RB named Ryan Torain
If the Giants were truly looking for insight to our offense, wouldn't it have made more sense for them to sign Grant, who actually played in this offense as opposed to Torain who hasn't?

Andre Brown was on the Redskins practice squad last season. I'm not sure if he was activated to the 53 man roster or not. Below is what is left of his Redskins profile. Washington Redskins: Andre Brown |
