Re: Around the league divisional weekend
Winners:
Broncos Patriots  Falcons :D 49ers Peyton Manning wins the SB over the Falcons...not trusting Colin Kapernick to take them all the way. I'm jsut sick of the Patriots and I don't see anyone slowing the Broncos down. |
Re: Around the league divisional weekend
game of the week gonna be 49ers vs Packers...gonna be at a party, will have to make time
|
Re: Around the league divisional weekend
I will be just fine watching a Broncos/Falcons Super Bowl. I'm not sure who I would root for though.
|
Re: Around the league divisional weekend
Denver
NE ATL GB. Denver vs GB SuperBowl. Of course a GB vs NE Superbowl would be exciting as well. |

That will definitely be ATL. I can't believe all you people think ATL actually has a legitimate shot to win this game. Seattle is going to wipe the floor with the Falcons. 1) Falcons had the easiest schedule in the league this year 2) They have not won a playoff game since 2005, losing in the first round of the playoff 3 of the last 4 years. (The other year they didn't make it) 3) Russell Wilson has more playoff wins than Matt Ryan 4) ATL ranks 24th in the league in defense. Seattle ranks 4th In other news: Denver over Ravens 24-13 Packers over Niners 17-14 Patriots over Texans 31-17 |

Seattle is not a good road team, except for last week of course. If I'd change any of my picks to take one road winner, it would be Green Bay beating SF, but I don't think GB has a complete-enough team to go to the SB again. Middle-of-the-pack defense and not much of a running game. Can they make it again? Sure, but there are more complete teams still playing they'll have to beat. |
Re: Around the league divisional weekend
Patriots 35-24
Atlanta 31-16 Broncos 38-26 Green Bay 35-28 Also I saw Inside the NFL last night and Richard Sherman just moved up to number 1 most hated player in the league, in my book. Any of you all hate Finnegan? Wait until you hear sherman and some of the crap he was saying. They even showed what Trent and Sherman were saying to each other. "Boy I'm ******* smack you in your **** face" "[something like] Do it then boy!" and then Trent just owns him in the face. Sherman can play but his mouth exceeds his play. |

The Redskins, and the Broncos. |

To be honest the Broncos only beat two playoffs team just like the Falcons, New England only beat three, Ravens only beat two teams. Teams play who are on their schedule, last year NE only beat one team with a winning record on their way to the superbowl, the Broncons this year have played teams in the AFC west and have gotten on a roll with easy opponents, teams play teams on their schedule, but with all that said I am still not that high on the Falcons. |

I'm just not a believer. They stumbled to end the season. The only consistency they have in regards to the playoffs is getting there and losing in the first round. Their talent isnt that much different from last year. Their only major acquisition was Asante Samuel. They have new coordinators, and while I do think they are upgrades over the old ones, i dont think their pedigree and their ability level will get them a win versus a Seattle team who will be playing a read-option offense in a dome with fast field turf against the 24th ranked ATL defense. |
Re: Around the league divisional weekend
If the Patriots lose, that would make my playoff watching experience more enjoyable. If the Ravens beat the Broncos, you might as well give the f*cking patriots the Lombardy Trophy

seems like a nice ole chap
According to a release from the Gainesville, Fla., police department, officers were called at 8:26 a.m. to an apartment complex on SW 42nd Place regarding an argument between a man and a woman that had turned physical. Witnesses said Rainey and the female accuser were arguing over Rainey's cellphone and Rainey pulled the woman out of a vehicle that belonged to his roommate and then slapped her in the face with an open hand. Rainey and the woman fell to the ground, and then Rainey chased the woman and grabbed her bag to retrieve his cellphone, the release said. The two fell again. The release said neither Rainey nor the woman suffered visible injuries. Police charged Rainey, a former standout at the University of Florida, with simple battery (dating violence), a first-degree misdemeanor, and he was booked into the Alachua County Jail. Re: Around the league divisional weekend
I like this from the article: "Under the circumstances and due to this conduct, Chris will no longer be a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers," Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said.
But yet its okay to sexual assault women in a guarded bathroom? Man that is some wierd Steelers logic. |
Re: Around the league divisional weekend
I hate to say this, but Seattle has the best shot to pull the upset this weekend. They will pound Lynch against Atlanta's D, opening play action and read option for Wilson. The Seahawks will win the time of possession battle, and Matt Ryan has come up very small in the postseason. I love Atlanta's receivers, and Julio Jones is a handful, but I have a feeling about Seattle and their physical D forcing key turnovers this weekend.
|
I think Atlanta rolls Seattle actually.
And what is Buffalo doing? Are they going to be Syracuse in the NFL? Lol |

Yet we all support the enterprise that allowed these guys to walk out from these situations without much punishment. |
For "closure," she wants to talk to Lewis. If she gets the chance, Lollar-Owens says she would ask him for money, not for herself, but to build a beauty salon in the name of her nephew, the barber. "That would be my kind of closure, because I would have his memory," she says. She also wants the truth. "I would like for him to tell one day exactly what happened," Lollar-Owens says.
Not sure this sits really well with me, figured you would jump all over this. She already has his memory, why the need for money over the truth? |

It's terrible to lose a son I hope I will only have to imagine it but to say money will make it better in anyway seems like a low thing to say. Of course the last part of knowing the truth makes perfect sense for closure. |
Re: Around the league divisional weekend
Unfortunate for sure, but Lewis was acquitted, like he should have been given the evidence.
Acquitted on being a accomplice? Not sure the evidence proved he wasn't. In fact, the evidence showed he tried to cover it up. If this had been me or your, we'd still be sitting in jail this very day. What was proven was the DA did a piss poor job, and failed the community all together. My personal belief is that Ray didn't commit the murders, but being part of and then trying to cover it up makes you a accomplice which puts you in the same category as they were.
Not sure this sits really well with me, figured you would jump all over this. My guess is she wants to take away from him by any means since she knows she'll never get justice. Even so, either get revenge (nino brown style) on the person or move on. Don't be petty and ask for money. Very low class. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3FPVLBH9zc&feature=player_detailpage#t=277s I think she did hit the nail on the head here. Much like Pittsburgh with Big Ben.
"The problem to me is America was more interested in him playing football instead of him paying the price for what he was involved in," Wilson says. "That's how we feel. They wanted nothing to happen to him. (Team owner) Art Modell didn't want his golden boy to suffer, so he could make money for him. So they did all they could to get him out of trouble."
|

Not being a Ray Lewis apologist, but for the sake of accuracy he was not acquitted, he pled guilty to obstruction of justice, which plays to your point of he 'tried to cover it up'. If you or I did what he did, given the evidence and circumstances, we probably would be going about our daily lives as he does today. Based on the public knowledge and some inside insight, he was there, was involved on the perimeter of the fight but was trying to get his guys and get out rather than escalating and engaging in the fight. He doesn't know specifics of what went on (who did what and how) but has a good idea of what happened. His answers publicly and privately have remained generic but consistent about the events of that night. Agreed that the DA did an awful job of getting justice for the families. He went big game hunting with the name of Ray Lewis rather than focusing on the other two guys who had knives and were involved in the fight. At the end of the trial, the jury was so confused they had no choice but to acquit the two remaining accused. Many forget that Lewis was the only one who had any type of conviction and sentence (fine and probation) but he's an easy target for public scrutiny. Back to football, last week disappointed me so much that I don't really want to watch the NFC games this weekend and really am only mildly interested in the Broncos/Ravens. I hope Atlanta beats the feathers off of the Seahawks who are way too arrogant for my liking. If RG3 doesn't get hurt we kick their ass and they act like it was a 60 minute domination. My weekend predictions: Falcons, Packers, Broncos and Patriots all roll to victory. |
