Supposed to get an inch or two of snow around the DC area on Friday. I was hoping for a blizzard but it doesn't look like we'll get one this year.

I know at one point today here in good ol Virginny' it was 8 degrees. Only reason I know this is because it was all over my feed. I just knew it was cold enough to stay bundled up while I was at work. Speaking of cold, anybody seen the pictures of the massive 5 alarm fire they had in Chicago today? Massive warehouse on fire, yet it's so cold out that the water they were using to put out the fire was forming icicles as it was coming out of the fire hose. Crazy. A five alarm fire in single temperatures.

I feel like it has been between 8 and 18 degrees here for days. The ****ing ice has ice on it. Damn. Its that time of the year where you find yourself swearing your going to get a remote starter.

My office must have terrible insulation and/or the company doesn't want to pay to heat it (which is probably the case) because it's almost as cold in here as it is outside. I normally prefer it really cold but even I'm shivering, so the rest of these drones are probably dying!

My outdoor thermometer said (-6) yesterday morning at about 6:30 a.m. and an even 0 this morning.

Seems like they finally got the heat cranking, so now my contacts are shriveling up and my hands are drying out. Everyone else here has mini-space heaters but what I really want is a humidifier!

Call OSHA if you have no heat that'll take care of it.

I'm guessing you work in a big building. When the weather is so up and down like it has been the past week it tough to keep it one even temp. I bet next week when the temps go up 60 degrees your going to be hot.

So who is getting snow?

I lived in Hilton Head SC for a year though they get some cold days there is really no true seasons. I missed having a true summer, fall, winter, and spring when I lived down there.

That's fair enough. I miss seeing the brilliant show of leaves changing in the fall. And Christmas doesn't quite feel like Christmas when you know there is no chance that it will be a white one.

But still, it's the end of January and it is 75 degrees here today. I'll take that.

Yeah come Jan, Feb and March I am ready for some summer.

I went swimming a the beach on Xmas when I lived in HH. IT was mid-60's and the water was a bit cold not bad. I did it more to say I went to the beach on Xmas day.

As long as you don't mind those brutally hot summers, living in the south is the way to go.

I'm not a fan of these frigid winter days, but I'm not sure I could survive those summers down there. You guys have some crazy bugs too.

The summers in Oklahoma are worse than the summers in MS. It's brutal here. *105 are good days

He had just gotten back from an extended work trip in freaking Antarctica and someone said the weather must feel great to him even though the rest of us were freezing, but he responded back "Man, cold is cold."

I guess you can get used to just about anything, but that doesn't mean you have to like it.

I've been seeing 10+ inches but hearing 3-8.

Anyone been to the stores lately? They should be all out of the fundamentals by now.

I wanna go buy a shovel but I feel a little silly buying a shovel in March.

Still checking out the weather. I've heard as low as 2 inches now. Jesus. With all this back and forth hype if we don't get at least 8 inches I'm going to stop listening to weather forecasts.
