it took that dick one year of success. in the article you'll note how they compare us to the giants and cowboys ticket prices, almost as if the redskins are justifying it by saying two other teams in our division still have higer prices. you know what else those two teams have a new figgin stadium, not an old dump thats been recently stripped down to the bones.

as a season ticket holder for 9 years now and a skins fan for 30 years, i would just like to say f you danny, f you.
Last season, an upper deck ticket cost $64. According to a team marketing report conducted by FanCostExperience.com, the average Redskins ticket in 2012 cost $79.13, which ranked 11th in the NFL and third in the NFC, behind the Giants ($111.69) and Cowboys ($110.20).

The Redskins announced that even with the increase, their tickets will “remain among the most affordable in the NFC East.” The Redskins are one of four teams in the division.

FedEx Field opened in 1997. Not that it is the greatest stadium, but how often should they build a new one?

No comment on the ticket prices other than :(

by no means saying they have to build a new one right away, but to remove seats from your stadium because you can't fill it up, to then turn around 2 years later and raise prices??? that just doesnt add up to me

if danny boy wants to raise prices he better figure out a better way to get fans thru the gates in a timely manner, upgrade the turf, and update the pathetic excuse for a bathroom. and thats a minimum.

i dont see how you are relating removing seats to raising prices. if anything, removing seats means they HAVE to raise prices to get more revenue. Teams raising ticket prices is a normal part of business. Expenses go up, so prices go up too. Its a reality we have to accept, not just with Redskins ticket prices, but with everything.

While the improvements wouldn't hurt, let's be honest. If you had the same stadium and the Redskins from the Joe Gibbs 1 era, it would be legitimately sold out. Winning cures all.

Supply and demand at work.

Re: Redskins increase the price of tickets, parking at FedEx Field

There is a thread on ES talking about this, and I laughed at the ticket holders talking about "well, it's not so bad since they haven't raised the prices in 6 years." Well, six years ago, the Redskins tickets were some of the highest priced in the NFL, and still had one of the shittiest teams as well. The tickets were so above their real value (in terms of product) that it's taken 6 years just to catch up to what they should be more inline with, and really deserve to be much lower on the list. Hell, I still think they are too expensive considering they do no have a new stadium. This is Danny Snyder at his best. Squeezing the fans dry. It's simply why I will never become a STH, nor will I go to many games. It simply isn't worth it. I'd say the same thing if they were perennial winners every year.

The hilarious part of it all was him comparing his team to 3 others in the same division. That's it? So you are coming in 2nd in a race of 4 people and you are bragging about it? All the while you should be including the rest of the NFL to truly reflect how much Skins fans have been gouged over the years.
I havnt been up there since 2005, did I miss something???
They removed seats in the upper level because they really couldn't sell them, nor was the demand there to keep them.

Not sure that's the case. He had insane ticket prices the past 6-8 years and the demand wasn't there. (hence him removing seats) This is Danny trying to capitalize on a winning season.

They removed seats (supply) and thanks to a winning season and a franchise player in RGIII, demand is back up. Not hard to put 2 and 2 together here. I guarantee there's a method to the madness, it's not simply Snyder scheming to F over the fans.

Re: Redskins increase the price of tickets, parking at FedEx Field

Parking is the one thing that has aways bothered me about FedEx. Not just with Snyder but with the whole decision to build stadium where it is.

Do you know if the $40 parking pass is the minium "guests" will be charged? That seems like more than a 10% increase.

Then how do you explain how the ticket prices sky rocketed before and the team hadn't won jack shit? I think Dan takes advantage of the fan base knowing how loyal they are. There is a reason why the Cowboys games (and others) are littered with opposing fans. It's because this ticket holders can make some of their money back that they are being gouged on.

This is also why I think the Skins are telling people 6-8 months on RGIII as well. Purely for ticket sales. I simply don't agree with the fact that it's just supply and demand alone driving this price increase. (notice that key word alone)

They also upgraded the video boards, that in itself was a huge improvement. I don't get season tickets, so I can't really weigh in much. But I do know the company I work at just had it's first major increase in 10 years, why, things like gas, costs of goods and services, and the new requirements for healthcare.

I doubt the Skins ticket prices are the only things going up this year.

Ouch. That would be tough asking the fans to pay a increase on ticket prices after having the kind of seasons they had the past 2 years. I guess they are going to capitalize on Chip Kelly hiring with the fanbase being excited about the change? I want to say that Danny last raised prices when he hired Spurrier and then with Gibbs.

I could care less. Go enjoy yourself, but the Skins games have always been more of a hassle than a fun experience. Not really about the price, all football games are expensive. If you dont like it, dont go. Im more worried about the increases in my health care, the cost to heat my house and gas prices. You would think people would be up in arms about that.

I live in KY, NFL Sunday Ticket is the cost for my Redskins experience. Around $300 a year, the seats are comfortable, I get all the replays, the beer is $1 a piece and my bathroom is clean with no line. I also don't worry about the travel time to and from.

If you don't the high prices, 60 inch TVs are coming down in price all the time.

Re: Redskins increase the price of tickets, parking at FedEx Field

I was discussing NFL ticket prices on another board with a guy who claimed that the NFL franchises were losing money because they were not able to sale out their stadiums. His solution was to down size every NFL stadium and raise the prices on the tickets. I felt that each franchise needed to offer something more for the "NFL experience" that fans supposedly have when they go to the games. It sounds like maybe what he suggested is what's starting to happen.

Think about it. Most of us have big screen, high definition TVs, so our NFL experience is pretty good in the comforts of our own homes. We have the best seat in the house, or we can stand and cheer, we don't have to pay huge prices for food and drink......almost no reason to go to games in person! So, maybe the ticket prices are the start of trying to recoup whatever lost value may have accrued in recent years - but I think that's just the start of it. I think there needs to be something so unique offered when you go to the games, that it would make the price worth it....other than watching your favorite team win of course.

I used to think this way. but there is an electricity that you feel being there that you can't get at home. When you get used to being there for the tailgate and in the stadium for the game it becomes like a drug. There is just something missing when i watch a home game on my couch. I feel disconected...

These ticket increases are a kick in the arse but I guess if i don't like it i don't have to pay it. I am more worried about the 2% extra that came out of my paycheck this month then I am Redskins ticket prices though...

Snyder can't help where the stadium is. That's on Jack Kent Cooke. After the deal with Potomac Yard went to shit, he had no choice but to go over to 'Raljon"...lol.

I hope one day they get the stadium back into the city. If they could tear down RFK and rebuild a 75,0000 seat stadium that was be so awesome.

I mean lets just be honest/point out the obvious here. Once Snyder knew we were getting RG3, he saw more than just he's a great player. He saw reasons to increase ticket prices and parking, because everyone wants to see this phenom. One day when we win the super bowl, all you season ticket holders better be working overtime, because those tickets will be ridiculous.

But all this doesn't matter to me because I'm very happy watching them in the comfort of my own home for the same price every year.

Be careful what you wish for with the new stadium. A new stadium will also bring even higher ticket prices along with the biggest fan ripoff of all time...the PSL! FedEx was built before owners came up with the PSL idea. I dread the day when the skins build a new stadium...Snyder gets a new toy and I get the bill. No thanks...

I would recommend no one takes his advice to by that TV. Its an active 3D tv which means you have to wear heavy, glasses with batteries that cause eye strain. Passive 3D (whats used in movie theaters) is a simpler, better all around technology.

I think that's your opinion and nothing factual. As noted below...

Active 3D vs. passive 3D: What's better? | TV and Home Theater - CNET Reviews
The bottom line
Sorry, no winners, only whiners. Both 3D methods are flawed in serious ways. Glasses-less (autostereoscopic) 3D, if it ever makes it mainstream, is going to have its own major flaws.

My advice? Figure out how much time you'll spend watching 2D versus 3D, and how far you're going to sit from your chosen screen size. If you're like most people, you'll be watching far more 2D, in which case I recommend getting the TV that looks better with 2D. If you think you'll watch a lot of 3D, passive might be better, but only if you're sitting far enough away (or your TV is small enough) that you can't see the "interlace" lines.
Also, you aren't required to wear the glasses unless you are using the 3D features on the TV. Which is going to be very little.
Over $1500 for a TV and your complaining about a $75 ticket?
Tickets-$75 x 10 = $750
10% Tax= $75
Parking $40 x 10 = $400
----------------------
Total: $1225

That's the grand total for ONE seasons worth of viewing the Redskins at FedEx. Double that if you want to bring a friend. Now, this doesn't even factor in the costs of gas, food, and other game day related items that would incur a cost.

All that for one season's worth of entertainment. Now add in the fact that if you drop 1500 on a TV, you get to use it everyday, all year round. Not only that, the next season, you won't have to drop 1500 again to view your favorite team. Investment wise, this is a no brainer.

NFL games have always been overpriced. This is no surprise. Been to a couple of games as a guest or a gift and I would never pay to go to a pro game myself.
