Two thumbs up, so tired of hearing about this. |
Re: Graziano: Please stop trading Kirk Cousins
Amen a thousand times.
|
Re: Graziano: Please stop trading Kirk Cousins
Nice read, people like to create news. KC will be here for awhile which is a good thing IMO.
|
Yeah it's not happening this season, Kirk may start week 1 for all we know.

Re: Graziano: Please stop trading Kirk Cousins
This is such a nonstory, fake news on a slow day. Gotta talk about something i guess.

Re: Graziano: Please stop trading Kirk Cousins
Not even if teams are calling on draft day?
|
Not even if teams are calling on draft day?
Nope. Not unless they are offering multiple first rounders. As DG said, he is our starting QB right now and you don't trade your starter. |

I wouldn't completely dismiss it.... if a team calls with a first round pick I think you need to at least consider it. Not saying that would happen, but I think if that was the case then you'd have to at least think about it. I love Kirk, and I hope he goes to a team where I can cheer him on, but RG3 is our quarterback and if we can add a big peice to maybe a championship puzzle (with a first round pick), I think you consider it... That said, chances of that being the case are prob under 1%, so otherwise yes I agree with everyone else. |
Re: Graziano: Please stop trading Kirk Cousins
Even for a first I wouldn't deal him. Not with Griffin coming off a major knee injury. Did we already forget what life with Rex as the starter was like??

Re: Graziano: Please stop trading Kirk Cousins
From the article:
What Cousins is, right now, for the Redskins is their starting quarterback.
It should be common sense but nothing says it better then this quote right here. The sooner fans realize this the sooner the insanity can die down. Granted Cousins is available for a price but that price should be prohibitively high at this point (ie an offer we can't refuse where the other teams fans complain about giving up way too much). |

Exactly. Only for "an offer we can't refuse". |

If KC is a 4th rnd prospect that has real holes in his game, and he starts a few games and the league sees the holes, what would be his worth then? If they can get a high 2nd or low 1st-HELL YES trade him. |

Yuck |
Re: Graziano: Please stop trading Kirk Cousins
Won't stop fans from spouting their insane Madden like trade offers we can get for Cousins. Ooooo.....we can get a 2nd and a 4th, and a late pick next year! /facepalm
If Matt Flynn, who's had more playing time than Cousins, didn't garner a single draft pick from Green Bay, chances are Cousins isn't going to garner anything at this point unless some team is desperate as hell. Disregard anything the Raiders do, they are the exception to most rules. |

Unlike when Flynn hit free agency teams felt like they had plenty of options at QB between the draft and free agency. Now a year later it seems that many front offices are wondering if there will be any strong QB classes in the next year or two. Sure someone could emerge but right now there is a lot of uncertainty. |
Re: Graziano: Please stop trading Kirk Cousins
Yeah I mean it'd have to just a stupid offer. Like we'd basically have get back what we gave up for RGIII. Not gonna happen.
|
With this draft class of QBs, I'd be wanting cousins as my future as well. Geno isn't that great and I will.never trust a USC qb in the NFL

Re: Graziano: Please stop trading Kirk Cousins
Kirk Cousins isn't going anywhere. I haven't heard much about Cousins being traded but the notion sounds absurd. Until Bruce Allen does make that deal, it shouldn't be news until then...

Kinda old article but it's good to see Cousins trying it out |
Re: Graziano: Please stop trading Kirk Cousins
Even if it's a first rounder it's just not worth it cause there's no telling how that pick will turn out. And RG3 has to prove that he's durable. Cousins has already shown that the NFL was not too big for him his rookie season and I see no reason why he won't improve. He's a leader, he's accurate, he gets the ball out quickly, he's smart and his mobility is very underrated. Right now, Cousins is one of the most valuable guys on this team.
|
Re: Graziano: Please stop trading Kirk Cousins
WTF!!!!!! What if RGIII goes down, do you want to tank the season with Grossman? I repeat, you are not going to get anything of real value for Cousins based on his very short resume of taking over for Robert. He won, but his stats weren't terrific. I think after the Chiefs bit on Cassel, and the Cards on Kolb, the NFL front offices are a bit wiser in going all in for a backup. We need Cousins to stay with us for his entire contract, and if he does get some more shots at starting because of RG III going down or getting nicked up and performs very well, we keep him and resign him if the $$ is right.

Kinda old article but it's good to see Cousins trying it out
If Cousins can make good decisions like RG3, the read option (limited) and play action stuff could work. I think one of his best plays in Cleveland last season was a Shanahan patented (tm) bootleg. |
Listened to KC on Mike and Mike this morning. A couple notes I took.
1. The guy is ready for the big time, just his poise and his confidence. He reminds me of a young Aaron Rodgers. 2. He said he and his family were a bit shocked and dissapointed about the draft which is understandable, BUT he said he wouldn't change it one bit. 3. He said " I will get some more time on the field in Washington before my time is up here " meaning he is ready to showcase his talents to every team interested in him down the road. Overall it was a pretty funny interview, and there is no doubt Kirk will be a big time QB in the NFL. |

Are you saying you don't want to bring sexy back? |
Re: Graziano: Please stop trading Kirk Cousins
Wait two more years when he's a restricted free agent to either trade him or let someone else sign him to an offer sheet and we get a first round pick. It is way too soon to trade him now. His value isn't high enough to warrant a first round pick and we need him because he is our starter right now and Griffin hasn't exactly shown that he is good at staying healthy yet.

Re: Graziano: Please stop trading Kirk Cousins
Everyone take a deep breath. We just had our first playoff appearance in years, our starting QB is coming off ACL surgery, and the thought of our third string QB being under center makes be nauseated.
Let's establish ourselves as a winning system before we get cute trading a bird in our hands. |
Re: Graziano: Please stop trading Kirk Cousins
KC has tons of reasons to stay here for one more year:
1) He's good. Or at least he's good enough to win. 2) He's our starter, and when RG3 comes back he's always one hit away. 3) He's cheap. About $480k, which (like Morris) doesn't even count against the cap right now. 4) He's a team player, locker room guy. 5) He's not good trade bait yet, too little film. I'm hoping we continue to innovate, and use Pat White in new schemes behind KC as the QB. May see some experimentation in the preseason, which should be fun. |
