Apparently the other thread wasn't good enough for smootsmack.

I have us losing to Philly week 1. I have us going 2-2 into the BYE. I have us going 11-5 at best.

skinsfaninok 04-18-2013 09:19 PM

3-1 into the bye but the loss won't be GB it'll be Detroit in a upset. Overall I say we will finish 10-6 and another Division crown

CRedskinsRule 04-18-2013 09:31 PM

can I just say I am glad we don't play the Rams this year. Just sick of playing last place teams even if it makes the schedule harder.

Your predictions are not deterred by the fact that the draft has not yet happened?

CRedskinsRule 04-18-2013 09:37 PM

after picking us to lose to the Falcons en route to an 8-8 season Brian B and Shaun O picked Atlanta to lose to us en route to an 8-8 season for them. that is exactly what predictions at this point are worth.

Can't help but think that early bye was put there with RGIII in mind... just in case he's not ready to roll week 1.

I don't see any RG3/Russell Wilson like impacts coming out of this draft for any team.

Agreed. A later bye is better, especially if you want to go deep into the playoffs.

Also, we get the G-men twice in December.

Re: Official 2013 Redskins Regular Season Schedule

I think 11-5 or 12-4 are completely within the realm of possibility but its tough to predict without seeing our draft results and seeing some of our injured players being on the field again at 100%.

GusFrerotte 04-18-2013 11:17 PM

Re: Official 2013 Redskins Regular Season Schedule

I can see this draft for us being somewhat of a downer from last year's excitement with RG III. Really have to have the scouts come through this year for us with no first rounder. After our two first picks, the rest will be practice squad fodder or outright cut. This year doesn't seem to be very deep in talent with the positions that we need to fill, but then again we could use depth in virtually every position sans RB, QB, and WR.

I know, one downside to having a MNF game. Another is having to stay up when you have work in the morning.

Re: Official 2013 Redskins Regular Season Schedule

I'm pleased with the Redskins being on prime time 5 times this coming season. I don't like the idea of traveling to Oakland when the Redskins went there in 2009 and handed the Raiders a 34-13 loss. The Redskins/Raiders game should be played at FedExField.

The five prime time slots are a direct gift from RGIII.
The gift that keeps on giving.

Well then, we should just cancel the draft, since it has no effect on teams' performances.

If the draft did have an effect on teams' performances, making predictions before the draft would be pure arrogance. But as we know from your post, this is not the case.
5 prime time games? wow.
We're big time now. The end of the season looks tough. We need to get off to a good start, which should be no problem with this schedule. I can't wait to beat down Andy Reid's new team too.

The only game that really worries me is Denver. RGIII can beat Kaepernick head-to-head, Green Bay is no longer elite, we hung with Atlanta last season, beat Minnesota, Chicago doesn't scare me, we can manhandle this division this year including the Giants...but Denver might be the team to beat this year for everyone.
Can't help but think that early bye was put there with RGIII in mind... just in case he's not ready to roll week 1.
I've been saying sit him for the first month, which would NOW be 5 weeks.

The NFL and Goodell has a vested interest in protecting their most marketable player.

Re: Official 2013 Redskins Regular Season Schedule

This is what I believe will happen. RG3 will not be 100% himself for the first couple of games just because of the knee injury and getting back to full speed and trusting himself again. He will still be good but not great, so the skins start the season 2-2. Then with a bye week and getting back to football shape and trusting himself again, he throws for more than 400 yards, 4 touchdowns and 1 rushing touchdown against the cowboys and the Redskins destroy the cowboys on primetime tv. Should be exciting.

Just noticing, while I think he will be good to go game one, if the Skins were to PUP list him to start the season, look at what would be his 1st game back.

Sunday Night Football in Dallas.

Re: Official 2013 Redskins Regular Season Schedule

So here's a question:

Teams are not allowed more than 5 prime time games. Say, however, that the Skins/Giants game at the end of the year is like last year's Giants game - win and in, loser go home, last meaningful game of the season as all else is decided - could it be flexed into the prime-time slot?

What if the Dallas/Skins game the prior week had significant play-off implications, could it be flexed? Both?

Just curious if anyone knows the answer. Also, who makes the flex scheduling call?

No doubt. I see very few games with an across the board "Man, I gotta see that!" appeal.

Our game against Philly for the RGIII/Chip Kelly factor
Our game against San Fran.
Seattle/St. Louis
Green Bay/Chicago
Atlanta/San Fran.

Several potential stinkers:
Atlanta/Jets - the Jets? Really?
Miami twice - Again, Really?
Oakland/Denver - Matt Flynn's Prime Time Debut, now there's a selling point.

This is interesting. Is the NFL Network game considered prime time? In 2011 The Cowboys had 5 Prime time games (one being a Saturday Night NFL Network Game)... and then were flexed on the last week against the Giants.

Just like the regular schedule the NFL makes the final flex scheduling call, after consulting with the networks

Three teams are allowed up to six primetime games (at least that was the rule when I last scheduled which was a couple of years ago), the rest of the league is allowed five. NBC can only have a team on four times though

New York-major market
Miami-feeling they could be a sleeper team
Oakland-no comment

I'd like to see how teams are looking after Training Camp before saying they'll be a horrible game to watch.

You just never know. Didn't all the experts say the Redskins would be flat because of the Rookie QB and crappy team?

my god dan. We can also not predict injuries either. Nor have we seen training camp. We can't see what big moves and trades will occur before the season starts with Revis or Fitzgerald. Nor can we see who everyone is picking as a winner who will end up flopping. So what we should just get rid of predictions as a whole right? No one should predict anything right?
