Worst Redskin Game Last Year?
 

I already made a best Redskins game thread. So what was the [B][U]worst[/U][/B] Redskin game last year? (and don't say all the loses, pick one)

Heres some candidates:

[B]Rams[/B]- Josh Morgan made all of us pissed off by chucking the ball at Finnegan. Had he not of done that, we more thank likely would have had that game sent to OT, where anything could have happened. We also lost 2 key defensive players in this game in Orakpo and Carriker.

[B]Bengals[/B]- It was our first Redskins home loss. We had a chance to tie the game late with under 2 minutes to play, but RG3 was sacked and that was the game. It was though a fun game to watch. AJ Green also destroyed our seconday.

[B]Falcons[/B]- We lost to a good team by 10 points, but it was also the first game we got hit with the reality that those RG3 injury rumors were real, when he got concussed and knocked out of the game.

[B]Giants[/B]- The only NFC East loss last year. And you can argue that we should have won that game had GOD DAMN MADIEU WILLIAMS OF RAN WITH CRUZ AND NOT BEEN FLAT FOOTED!!! This was also the game we lost one of our best offensive weapons in Fred Davis.

[B]Steelers[/B]- They literally kicked our ass. We beat ourselves too that day. RG3 threw probably four TD passes on the opening drive: the problem is that only one of them was caught. Then Mike Shanahan got the brilliant idea that he should send his recently injured QB on a wheel route down the field to catch a pass, only to get leveled by Ryan Clark. If there was ever a game that you would say "We deserved to lose that game" it was this one.

[B]Panthers[/B]- Again, another game which we beat ourselves. This was the game that Kyle Shanahan called the same F***ing play on the goal line to get us stopped on 4th down. Credit the panthers though for playing good defense against the option. Also the one good thing out of this loss was that it sparked us to win 7 straight and make the playoffs, as well as Shanahan giving the whole "Re-evaluate speech".

[B]Seahawks[/B]-This one hurt for many different reasons. Was it a bad game like the Steelers game? Not really, but we had a hobbled RG3 most of the game. We had a 14-0 lead and were playing great, beating that team which is slowly becoming our newest rival. A lot of people said "If we had a healthy RG3, we win this game." While I don't think its a sure thing, I believe that we certainly had a much greater chance of beating them and would have definitely put up more than 14 points. This as we all know was the game when we all saw RG3's knee bend in a direction we all know it shouldn't go, with most of us instantly knowing that he tore his ACL. It was also the game where Sherman and Browner were bullying our WR's, trash talking (as usual), but best of all, Trent got the 'final word' with Sherman after the game.

If I had to go with a least favorite, I have to go with the Steelers. It was the only skins game last year which I was heavily contemplating changing the channel. Plus theres only 3 teams in the NFL that I despise, and the Steelers are one of them. It also stings that the next time we get to play the Steelers will be in another 4 years (in a meaningful game that isn't the preseason).

Seahawks game stands out as one that pisses me off just because of the mishandling of RG3's injury. But at the same time, while he was healthy we were rolling their asses, so that game in a funny way gave me a TON of hope for the future. That Seahawk team was good and we were destroying them. So despite all the negative that came from that game, I actually view it as more of a positive.

The Rams game was the one that sticks in my craw. We had a shot to win it and blowing it on a hot-headed response to Cortland Finnegan - you have to know Finnegan is trying to needle you for a response. Anytime we lose because of a hot-headed or dipshit penalty, I go apeshit. It takes me back to the days of Norv when all we ever did was beat ourselves.

Pittsburg game for me during the regular season, but the playoff game was tough to stomach especially when Cousins didnt come in after halftime.

For me it's Steelers game. We simply couldn't get anything going on both sides in that game

I would have to say Seattle . RG3 goes down and we lose a home playoff game . I hope the next time we play them , we rack up 500 plus yds/off and score 49 pts !

Yeah, definitely the Pittsburgh game. Our WRs sucked, RG3 was just another rookie quarterback, even Alfred Morris was pedestrian. The most disappointing was obviously the playoff game.

Steelers game.

I don't think they kicked our asses as much as we blew it with all the dropped passes.

Frustrating about the Pittsburg is that we didnt look prepared and focused. We didnt show up and those games are always tough to watch. Didnt think the effort was quite there....the good thing is thats the only game last year where I saw that, which I saw double digit games under Zorn where that occurred.

Carolina game had a touch of it in the first half.

Steelers game in terms of the poor play factor. Unlike in other losses, we were not competitive against Pittsburgh.

Rams game in terms of the hair-pulling, WTF factor.

Worst game was the Steelers, worst loss was probably the first Giants game

Giants game for me because we had that game won and Griffin carried us on his back that final drive! I didn't think we would go to Pittsburgh and beat them

The Giants game was definitely a dagger in the heart.

It was like a game of Madden where you get beat on a hail mary. Makes you want to throw your controller through the TV.

I forgot those three games were in that order, geeesh what a turnaround. A last second heart breaker, effort was terrible in Pitt, first half D adjustments were atrocious against Carolina. And I thought the Rams game was the worst loss. All that to NFC East Champs. wow:cool:sweet.

Yes, terrible game d couldn't stop TE trips all first half then Carolina stops running it in the second.

Giants game -- we had it in the bag, and then got torched at the last second. RGIII was great; Madieu "The Matador" Williams was not. And with in-law Giants fans, I was really praying to sweep them last year (and every year).

I would say that the Best Loss (If there is such a thing) was the Bengals game. What a fun game to watch. 2nd place would be Panthers since it sparked us and started our streak with Shanahan's postgame speech.

The Giants game for me. I tend to see the ending as such a deflating moment, it took the team the bye week to shake off the effects. Both Pittsburgh and Carolina were right after the Giants loss, and I think the "magic" was shaken as players started hearing all the harsh words about Haslett, and the d. Once the bye came, and "it got real" everyone pulled it back together.

Yeah I think that Giants loss really deflated the team and they didn't shake it off until the bye came around.

rams- really sucked bc i felt like RG was leading a comeback, it felt like he was building on his legacy already

giants - like the rams game, felt like rg was going to pull out a sig win but i think drops shut down his chance

seahawks - wish shanny pulled him after the 1st td, it was obvious he had serious ligament/injury problems and something more than soreness or inflammation . .

we had a lot of games last year we could won have and a few we should have won and didn't Rams and Steelers. I can't think of a game where I felt we had to be perfect to even have a chance (unlike the past few years)

Rams game yes, Pitt game no. The Steelers started kicking azz from the geeet gooo. Never really in that one. 27-9 at the end of 3.

We most likely would have won the Steelers game if we hadn't dropped so many passes. So yes, we should have won.

Yes, we dropped a ton of passes in that game. But we were never really in it. There was more than just dropped passes to the beatin' that we took.

The Steerlers as well as the Panthers game was the two worst efforts the team gave last year. I would rank them 1a Steelers and 1b Panthers.

As far as the hardest to take hands down the playoff game, ended our season and we lost III for considerable time.

The Giants game for me. We had it we blew it. The Seattle game was so hard to take I don't even like to think about it....but we lost that game because of injury and possibly because of Shanny's reluctance to take Griff out of the game. But we'll never really know if we would have won or not. (But I'd have been willing to bet we would have.)

Carolina game for me. I loved the uniforms but it was the worst effort of the season. Playing a horrible team and the Skins looked pathetic. The effort was bad against the Steelers but they are at least a good team.

Steelers were 8-8 last year, Carolina was 7-9.

Pittsburgh was simply better than we were. It wasn't shocking that they beat us at their place. Carolina was easily the worst game. A home loss to a bad team that dropped us to 3-6. Shanahan basically said people were playing for jobs next year, at that point everyone wanted Shanahan outta here.

I was going to say the Rams game, but I think it really was the Steelers game that was probably the most frustrating game. We gave that game away with all the dropped passes.

Football games can turn on just a few plays. I distinctly remember feeling that whole game like we weren't getting beat but more we were just playing poorly.

Pittsburgh/Carolina and Seattle are all contenders.

Pittsburgh just beat us soundly. Carolina I felt like we didn't show up...

But that Seattle game after that second TD pass was just painful to watch. We were up 14, all the momentum in the world...but it was like watching a slow death from there. So I'll say that one.

The Giants game hurt because we drove down the field and score what should have been the winning TD. Then the dagger. Also in our div. Steelers game was just bad and never had much hope we would win so it was not as bad.

For me it was definitely Carolina. We had just dropped two in a row against the Giants and Steelers, and we looked flat the whole game. I mean it looked like we were playing out the string, it was that bad. Like we just didn't care anymore. Those are the worst to watch. And Carolina was 1-6 at that point (I know they finished close to .500 but they got hot in the second half of the year). It was embarrassing.

Seattle wasn't so bad because I could tell RG3 was injured, and I felt he didn't need to be in there. If he had been pulled earlier I would've had more hope but it was pretty obvious he was hurt. That's definitely something that is going to have to be paid more attention to in the future.

Panthers game. It was like that opening play TD by the Bengals, only the misery lasted all game.
