Tanard Jackson, reinstatement day?
Today is the day we've been waiting for....kinda.
Today Tanard Jackson can finally apply for reinstatement. Please add any news or info that you may know about this or if Tanard has been keeping in shape, etc. Unfortunately, the Skins may need him this year due to our injuries. I haven't heard a peep about his condition. Here is an article about this...although it doesn't tell us much Should the Washington Redskins Give Tanard Jackson One More Chance? | Bleacher Report This one is a good read though: Y! SPORTS
My biggest problem I have with Tanard is that its not like he's been caught once or twice. Its 3 times he's been suspended for whatever. I was watching his interview with Chick Hernandez, and he seemed like a real good smart guy. He doesn't come off to me as a cheater or idiot that would get caught that much. I think if he is reinstated, we give him a chance, but I want Rambo starting week 1, because Tanard isn't in Football shape and with his shakyness and Rambo being a rookie, you might as well have a rookie out there making mistakes and learning from them than a veteran who will be making mistakes getting back into football shape. |
Re: Tanard Jackson, reinstatement day?
Tanard and Antoine Winfield, thats some hard hitting gritty secondary additions.
|
So does that mean the team can talk to him or do they have to wait for an official reinstatement?

He has to be reinstated first. |

sorry JoLo just voicing my hopes, no news... |
Re: Tanard Jackson, reinstatement day?
Oh alright, I got extremely excited haha. Always been a fan of Winfields style of play.

John Keim @john_keim 10s
By the way, it took the commish 17 days to reinstate Tanard Jackson last time around. Stunned if shorter this time. eligible apply today |

Why? If cleared to play the guy is talented enough to start and at worst would give us great depth. |

He can't be relied on, I mean if timing works because of injury or bad play sure take a look at him but don't plan on him. |
Re: Tanard Jackson, reinstatement day?
It'd be funny if Goodell reinstated Tanard Week 17 of the season.
|
Re: Tanard Jackson, reinstatement day?
It would be nice if Rambo makes us forget about t jax. I'm really liking the improvement over the last couple games. Amerson playing like a badass, I like the foundation in the secondary. We are better than last year talent wise, pass rush better this too, people are gonna sell this defense short maybe too it advantage.

Just in time to get up to speed during the bye week before the divisional round of the playoffs just in case a guy gets injured before the NFC Championship game. |

Nothing a couple of weeks of hard work can't solve. It's a long season. We held on to him this long why cut him now? |

Yeah no need to do anything until he is reinstated. It is a free spot so you might as well keep it. Can the team have any contact with the player just to see what he is doing , basically just checking in to see if he is in shape, healthy, and watching tape? I know in some cases of suspensions they have no contact with the team, but is that for all cases of NFL suspensions? Having some form of connection with the team for a guy recovering from a true drug addiction may have a positive effect on the players recovery. |

This. Gotta root for a guy name Rambo and it's about time we have starters in the secondary drafted by the current regime. |

This is going to be a dumb question, but I'm going to ask anyway. Whats to stop say, Jim Haslett, from going to say Wegmans in Sterling and Tanard Jackson just 'happens to be there' and they see each other in the store. What they can't talk? Who would find out? Why couldn't they do that, or I'm sure some Redskins keep contact with other former players. Whats to stop a current redskin player from calling Tanard to hangout? Or that player arranging a meeting with Tanard and a coach like Raheem or Haslett in a place like a grocery store or restuarant or whatever? I just find it a bit ridiculous when the NFL says hey you can't have any contact what so ever with this person or else.. |

Will the NFL find out? Probably not, but that doesnt change whether its allowed or not. If that would happen by chance, its the coaches/team representatives responsibility to walk away from him. |

But seriously - I'd just bet it'd just be extremely rare for these guys to ever meet without advance planning, I'm sure their lives would never intersect. |

Like if Matty bans you and tells me I can't talk to you, but I talk to someone on another message board who tells me he saw you recently and you're eager to get back. But I can't go seeking out this information. And it's understand you don't do that. And no, a secret meeting at some neutral location is not allowed. |
Re: Tanard Jackson, reinstatement day?
Could they then directly talk to his agent? Granted, he wouldn't be the most reliable source given he has stake in making sure T. Jackson gets back playing again.

I don't think so. I mean I think it's understood that no they can't talk to his agent about T Jackson. But I don't remember the specifics |

I've seen Cooley, Justin Tryon and HB Blades at that same Wegmans haha. Its what made me think of that example/scenario. |
Re: Tanard Jackson, reinstatement day?
Yeah they all like to go to Wegmans from what I've heard

Yeah, I met Ryan Kerrigan over in that same shopping center, more towards the california tortilla, potbelly area. |
Re: Tanard Jackson, reinstatement day?
^^^ I got the raw deal of it, while you guys are meeting worthwhile players. I also shop in northern Bmore close to PA. Which is 10 mins away from where VC lives and does his radio segment for ' the fan'

Re: Tanard Jackson, reinstatement day?
Generally, on the rare occasions I have seen players or folks from the sports world in their "civilian" activities, I don't approach them unless we're standing in line next to each other or something similar.
I would go out of my way to tell Vinny what a sucky GM/VP he was. I loathe him that much. |
Re: Tanard Jackson, reinstatement day?
This could be the funniest offseason thread I've read on here.
Tanard Jackson and Haslett violating league rules by shopping at the same grocery store. Well done, guys. Other than Wegman's...yeah, I doubt they hang out in the same types of places with the same kind of people. :D |

Re: Tanard Jackson, reinstatement day?
I wouldn't say anything to Vinny.
I'd just sneak some KY and Visine into his basket, then stay back and watch him check out. |
