Raiders will have the better record when the skins play them...

In the last 15 years I think the two most apathetic Redskins teams were in 2009 and so far this year

We will somehow win next week and somehow be right in contention for second place in the east at the bye.

Defense isn't helping though

Up and down game. Some bad turnovers against a competitive team. I really liked it when we played man coverage, but our defense really struggles in zone

Is that on MS in your opinion? I mean he is either not reaching them or they are unreachable - but that would fall on hom too - this is his team.

2009 skins beat the raiders. Just saying

Good: we were in it to win it, and maybe we are trending up.
Reed
Almo
Bad: our schedule after the bye and pretty much everything else.

If they continue to play the way they have the first three games, I'm not sure they win one at all this year...

I'll pass on that bad game next week, I'm going to be using my days off to actually do something now. For years I've wasted my time on wkends for this

Re: Redskins Lions postgame

Games are one or lost on 2-3 plays per game. Robinson not finishing the play on the TD, and RG3 not being able to slide without coughing the ball up were those plays today.

Looks like Alfmo will be lucky to break 1000 yards this season. Wonder what he's on pace for.

You'd be correct, doesn't change what we got.

Re: Redskins Lions postgame

Can we:

1. Fire Haslett.

2. Install a 4-3 and use the rest of this year to get used to playing it.

3. Remove Thompson from returning kicks (and instruct all of our returners NOT to leave the endzone if you catch it 6 yards deep or deeper).

4. Run the ball.

5. Bootleg more (those passes generally looked good).

6. Use more Reed, less Paulson.

7. Let Fred Davis go next year, and use the cap money we will have to shore up all of the DB positions and the OL.
I will argue to my dying day he got under that ball yeah it moved but he was up under the thing
I thought it would be reversed after seeing the replay. Robinson has to keep both hands on the ball going to the ground to remove all doubt. Finish the damn play!

B. Mitch makes a good point... We made over 400 yards of offense, but only had 13 points on offense.

That's pretty bad.

Re: Redskins Lions postgame

I fail to see how a team keeps the majority of its starters from the year before and regresses. Defensively I get it, we have two rookies I the back field not getting it done as well as we would like, piss poor tackling, and the DL.... it looks like our opponents would prefer us to blitz cause that opens up the middle of the field for slant routes which our back field is not covering well.

in any case at least our guy is stepping in his throws again.

We're still in contention because of the Giants

Re: Redskins Lions postgame

I really like the 3-4 but we need a better secondary. We can get good pressure on defense but our secondary is God awful. There was multiple times Lions WRs were running around with no one covering them.

How would a 4-3 help with tackling?

I don't think it would help with tackling as much as it would help with pressure. I think pressure would help on the back end.

This is what bad teams do....beat themselves....turnovers, penalties, dropped to passes, shitty tackling.

Yeah. There are six games on the schedule i think we can win.
Giants
Giants
Vikings
Raiders
Eagles
Chargers.
Of those six exactly none of them are sure things.
If we lose next week there is a realistic chance we go 0-16? I think im going to start winterizing my yard on sundays. Maybe ill get so drunk on saturday nites that i just sleep through the games?

I don't think we will go 0-16 because of the sheer parity of the league. Considering that only two teams in Pro Football History have ever had a winless season (Bucs and Lions), i could see winning only 1, or maybe 2 games, if it continues to be this bad. But i don't think we will go winless.

Re: Redskins Lions postgame

Guess what win 3 of those games and split 2 (philly and dallas) of them and you are 4-2 in the division.

Re: Redskins Lions postgame

Orakpo hasn't been very effective this year for us at all. He can't cover or tackle apparently. Would it be worth it to trade him for a corner or safety that isn't terrible?

Chief X_Phackter 09-22-2013 05:04 PM

Re: Redskins Lions postgame

I mean, I literally don't see a winnable game on the schedule going forward with the team I have seen on the field these first three games...maybe the Raiders after a short week for them...maybe the G-men at home, that's about it unless we fix the turnovers, penalties and piss poor D.

Oh, and RGIII couldn't have handed the ball to Robinson any better. He has to hold on to that one...period.

Team has no heart. Bunch of gutless warm bodies out there.

Seems like a bunch of guys out there working. Like, literally doing a job because that's what they're paid to do. Rarely does it look like they're enjoying it or that they're motivated; they just look like they showed up because they had no other choice.

There are players who exceptions to this, of course. But these dudes are just f'ing sloppy. Penalties, drops, sloppy ass tackling; you're losing and you're laughing on the sidelines? Come on, man.

I still think Rak could be so much more effective as a 4-3 end.
