Around the NFL week 15

Don't worry folks, the Skins aren't the only team around with internal drama

No way. I just can't believe that everything isn't sunshine and daisies with the 31 other NFL franchises. Nice try at some misdirection there.

Speaking of internal drama, did anyone see the A Football Life last night on the 93 Oilers? Jack Pardee ( rip) basically let Buddy Ryan run the team into the ground. If the Oilers had better coaching and not so much dysfunction going on, they might have had a SB. They had so many good players late 80's early 90's. They came real close to beating the 91 Skins at RFK.

skinsfaninok 12-11-2013 08:35 PM

I'm.about to watch the 93 oilers

Fuck Ben. They had Bruce Arians and still did squat on offense. Maybe...just maybe...it's the quarterback. I read a few reports that Haley's offense predicated the ball being out of the hands of the QB fast to be ran efficiently, and that's one of Ben's biggest flaws. He likes to hold onto the ball too long.

Matt Elam is an idiot, i hope Megatron lights him up just like he did the cowboys when Dez and Jerry said Dez was almost just as good as Megatron. Then Megatron dominanted

28 is old eh?

Why a DB would take a poke at Megatron is beyond me.

Not young, not old - that leaves a pretty big range of just right.

Re: Around the NFL week 15

28 is in an athletes prime at a lot of positions on the field. WR, DL, and QB among them. And you would expect a premier talent like Johnson to have a much longer peak than someone like Pierre Garcon.

28 is also on the other side of a guy's athletic peak. I think Elam was disrespectful to call Johnson "old" because he's not. But Johnson's been around a while and Elam hasn't, so what else is he going to say "I look forward to getting schooled by someone far more experienced?" Nah, he's gonna say he's old.

Re: Around the NFL week 15

Or ... and here's a thought ... don't say anything and risk poking the tiger. How about you just respect his ability, shut up and play?

Which would you recommend as a response:

Q: What do you think of Megatron?

A1: He's kinda old.
A2: He's shown that he's one of the best in the league. I am going to have to play my best every down to compete against him.

I just dont think Denver or KC are the real deals. Once again I implore everyone to look at who these two teams have beaten? Besides Denver beating KC I think they have one win against a winning team, the Eagles - who were not a winning team when Denver beat them. Neither one wins a playoff game.

skinsfaninok 12-13-2013 09:35 AM

I wouldn't be shocked if the Bengals go.all the way but I'd still say Denver

Most teams do not have great records against other teams with winning records. I feel like that is one of the most overrated factors in determining if a team will go to a super bowl or win one.
If I remember correctly, I think the Ravens only beat two or three teams with a winning record last year.

I still think Denver is overrated, reminds me of those Patriots teams that went 14-2 with a great offense and then lost to the Jets, or the Packers team that went 15-1 and lost to the Giants.

Or every Manning led Colts team that had a great offense and everyone thought would win the super bowl.

Peyton showed last night why T Brady is such a good QB. You take away Peyton's go to guy and he has trouble moving the ball. You trade away the same go to guy of Brady's and he finds another guy to take his place.

To be honest, once Gronk returned that offense looked a lot better, Brady wasn't amazing without him. Now that he is gone again... we shall see what happens.

The crazy thing about Welker and New England, is Edelman has almost exactly the same stats that Welker does. The only difference is touchdowns. Yards, receptions, and targets are almost the same.

73 vs. 76
110 vs 110
778 vs. 773

When it comes to Peyton, you have to spend all free agent monies on receiveers and linmen. That's why Indy brought in Dungy. Dungy built a defense with rubberbands and shoe strings and two defensive ends. God forbid Peyton not have a top notch receiving corps. When you have a franchise QB you have to commit to things like linemen or you won't get franchise QB production. Super Bowl winner this year will be a non-traditonal Russell Wilson, Kaepernick, or Newton.

No not writing them off, but you know you want to be playing your best football down the stretch. Ala the Ravens last year. Im pulling for a Broncos vs Russel Wilsons superbowl.

Hey for fun, you want to get the bad cold weather quarterback discussion going again. Peyton and Brady are the worst cold weather QB of all time, what is it, 4 superbowl title between them? :laughing2

These two teams only losses all come against the only teams they played with winning/500 records. They get the job done against teams they should beat and they are both obviously playoff caliber teams. The Broncos more so than the Chiefs. However I stand by my prediction that neither wins a playoff game.

Problem with Monte he's been given a shit deal. That team has zero depth and its showing bad on defense. Folks there defense is worse than ours. We have more talent on our defense than that squad by a good bit.
