Cowboys Release Demarcus Ware
Thread worthy. The Cowboys' best player for many years running, gone.
Now THAT's cap hell. Good luck to him, as long as he ends up outside of our division. What a player. DeMarcus Ware released by Dallas Cowboys | Audibles - SI.com |
Re: Cowboys Release Demarcus Ware
I sign him up to a reosanable contract.

We may have been mediocre, but we managed our mediocre much better than the Cowboys are doing. |

Do you think he would play here for a reasonable contract. Jerruh would hate that. |
Re: Cowboys Release Demarcus Ware
One might say we felt cap hell last year when we couldn't sign anyone and fielded a team half full of scrubs. But that cap hell was bullshit brought on by the Mara-fueled bogus cap penalty.
You're right, we never had to say goodbye to a sure fire Hall of Famer and our fan favorite. Without him, they just got SO much worse. Dallas sucks. |

Get serious people, it will take millions to sign Ware and who would you like to remove from the starting lineup, Brian Orakpo or Ryan Kerrigan? He's not coming here. Just appreciate a brilliant talent and be glad he's gone from Dallas. |
Re: Cowboys Release Demarcus Ware
My heart is breaking up in itty bitty wittle pieces.

Re: Cowboys Release Demarcus Ware
Can't say that I am sad to see the end of the Ware era in Dallas. That guy really hurt us, as he hurt everyone, over the years.

Re: Cowboys Release Demarcus Ware
He is not going to get double digits but I am betting he gets somewhere in the 6M/year range.

#KeepThinkingThat. |
Re: Cowboys Release Demarcus Ware
Fairly significant news. This decision should have been pretty straightline given cap #, age, and performance, but it's always more difficult when the player is a future ring of honor guy.
|
Re: Cowboys Release Demarcus Ware
He probably resigns with Cowboys once he gets over the fact no one is going to pay him what he wanted to get.
|
Re: Cowboys Release Demarcus Ware
I don't think Dallas got any worse at all. Ware has been injured the past few years and hasn't been himself for a while. They can go get Woodley for probably half price and maybe more production. Ware's a class act all the way. I doubt he'll be unemployed long.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports free agent DE/OLB DeMarcus Ware is already drawing interest from "six playoff teams."
Fantasy Football player news, injuries and analysis - Rotoworld.com
There's debate over how much Ware, 32 in July, has left in the tank, but it doesn't sound like he's going to be on the open market for long. Ware has averaged nearly a sack per game during his nine-year career, and missed only three lifetime contests. Of course, all three came in 2013, where Ware registered a career-low six sacks.
|

If anyone is watching NFL Network right now M. Faulk made great sense when he said Ware, Pepper & Allen should all takev 3 MIL & go to Denver.

superfriends! it's really easy to go tell someone ELSE to take less money though. |

These two have made a lot of money, been around a while, the end is near. They want a ring. Can't blame them. I'd do the same thing. |

I imagine that someone like New England might at least feel tempted to offer him slightly more then other teams or at least try to sell him hard on the benefits of the Patriot way. Granted New Englands pass rush was much improved last year but given the only average years before where they ranked middle of the pack in sacks I'd imagine they'd be happy with a bit more insurance. |

No. He's going to go to a contender, and we are very far from being one. My guess is he forced Dallas hand just so he could roll out to a better team. |
Re: Cowboys Release Demarcus Ware
They are also probably gonna lose jason hatcher and anthony spencer, spencer wasnt much help last yr but hatcher has been better than ware the past couple seasons.Hopefully they lose all 3 and we can take advantage of it

It's between Seattle and Chicago for Jared Allen reportedly. I really hope Seattle doesn't get him. They've lost some pieces so far and I don't want to see them contend again. |
Re: Cowboys Release Demarcus Ware

I can't, unless he takes a very small deal. Dallas has less than 10 million in cap space. |
Re: Cowboys Release Demarcus Ware
Anyone heard that Baltimore signed DWare? I thought I heard it, but haven't seen any links...
|
Re: Cowboys Release Demarcus Ware
Doubtful. He intentionally only chose Denver to visit and I don't think he'd sign anywhere else before he sits down with them.
|
Re: Cowboys Release Demarcus Ware
Denver's looking like the Yankees of the NFL.
|
Re: Cowboys Release Demarcus Ware
Not really, there's a salary cap in football. They're just looking like geniuses. :D

It's hard to blame them. If any team can feel like it is just one or two stars away from a Lombardi, it's Denver. Plus Manning gives them a narrow time window. |

From what I understand both have meetings with the Giants scheduled . |

Why would Allen or Ware visit with the Giants? They're both looking for a Super Bowl ring. Read the fine print! How is Denver affording all these contracts with Manning on the payroll?

lol...i dont know how they are doing this. But this is a Karlos Dansby-dumb contract. Probably the worse so far for Horse Teeth. |
Re: Cowboys Release Demarcus Ware
Man, the Broncons are going all in for 2014. I don't recall seeing FA signings (other than our misguided crap with Vinny) that was more transparently designed for a win-now strategy.
|
Re: Cowboys Release Demarcus Ware
Myles Austin cut.
The Austin/Ware era is over. |
Re: Cowboys Release Demarcus Ware
It is a bit unbelievable that they have done what they have so far with all these "big-name" free agents. Some of these contracts are ridiculous too...It is as if they have no cap ceiling. Next one to sign will be Jared Allen for 3yr/24 mil...I mean what are they going to do, release Peyton Manning to clear up cap space?
There is no way they keep D R-C now right? Or Decker, but I don't want Decker. D R-C was the man for them in the secondary last year, and it was a beat up/aging secondary at that and he still held his own. While Decker benefited from PM for one, and also playing opposite of DT, with Wes Welker in the slot, and a good up and coming TE, comparable to our Jordan Reed...no thanks. He will get his payday and disappear much like Kevin Kolb or that GB QB that used to back up Rodgers...what was his name? |
Re: Cowboys Release Demarcus Ware
Aside from a few big games in 2009 and 2010, Austin topped 100 yards only a handful of times and hasn't been completely healthy for a few seasons.
No thanks to him. Nothing special and he looks like Alex Rodriguez. |
