Undrafted Free Agents
As someone pointed out in a different thread, it appears we picked up Tommy Rees, Kevin Perry, Bryan Shepherd, Cody Hoffman, Mike Box, Quandon Christian, among others. Anyone know anything about these folks? Thoughts on what other teams have done are welcome too.

Re: Undrafted Free Agents

none of them have a chance to make the team. Robert Thomas DT/NG Arkansas is by far the best signing Robert Thomas*|*Arkansas,*DT*:*2014 NFL Draft Scout Player Profile LJ Jones CB/S Fresno State might have a chance as a safety L.J. Notre Dame kid? He's a bum...like the Arkansas DL though. We can always use more lineman |
Re: Undrafted Free Agents
Cody Hoffman's a very good receiver. He broke pretty much every receiving record at BYU (my alma mater) playing with a few mediocre quarterbacks. He isn't an elite athlete, but he just makes plays. He's got good size and hands, but he needs to work a little on his routes and strength to gain more separation at the line and on his breaks. Good teammate and hard worker.
I think he'll probably at least make the practice squad and if he contributes on special teams, could be an eventual 4th or 5th receiver in a year. Won't be an immediate starter or anything, but he's exactly the type of guy you want signed as an UDFA. Here's a good summary of him from a BYU football blog: 2014 NFL Draft: Cody Hoffman signs with the Washington Redskins - Vanquish The Foe |

Hahaha. Marko was fun to root for. Not a bad comparison, talent-wise, and I wouldn't be surprised if Cody is edged out by the sheer number of receivers we have, also. Marko was faster, but Cody is stronger and more of a possession receiver. If Hankerson doesn't come back strong, Cody would be a cheap option for a good-sized receiver at the bottom of the depth chart. |

Pretty interesting if you ask me. Re: Undrafted Free Agents
apparently there are 29 UDFAs going to rookie mini-camp this week, some are signed, others are just given a try-out. Reportedly Cody Hoffman got a $7,500. signing bonus, which by NFL standards isn't much. However, for a UDFA it is a lot........ I think the team limit is about $8,000. per team

WR Cody Hoffman BYU man he has size and nice hands. I believe Moss, Hankerson and Robinson will have a difficult time making the roster. Hankerson and Robinson could be traded for a low pick in 2015. |

This is my official camp star. |

Re: Undrafted Free Agents
I saw Coach J. Gruden's post draft comments they must really like our safeties. No Free Agents, draftees or UDFA....look forward to seeing what they see...an area of concern I assumed

I've seen this movie a million times before. 2014: Skins decide to wing it with Safeties. Results might end up being okay but will likely be less then optimal. Party Line Going Into Season: We got a couple veterans and some young guys we really like so we're not to worried about safety. 2015: Skins either sign a Tier 1/2 Free Agent at safety or use a Day 1/2 draft pick to acquire a promising prospect. Party Line Going Into Season: We really weren't happy with our safety play last year so we decided to make it a priority this offseason. Basically not much different from "Oh we swear RG3 is going to be ready for the season and he's going to be the same guy" last year. While this year when everyone gives an RG3 update you notice that players and coaches are exponentially more confident in his knee. In short Last Offseason: RG3 has 'no doubt' knee will be ready for Redskins' opener - Washington Times This Offseason: Chris Cooley says RGIII looks like ‘another person’ Notice the difference in tone from "DUDE I SWEAR I'M HEALTHY. NOTHING IS WRONG" to the matter of fact "Yeah he looks great." |
Re: Undrafted Free Agents
Well Tre Boston is a guy they liked and most expected him to go no earlier than the 5th round. But the Panthers nabbed him in the 4th

Tandler just said they could have up to 40 unsigned UDFAs at rookie mini camp, which starts Friday WR Kofi Hughes is a long shot, but might be a good practice squad candidate 6' 1" 208 4.55... 24 BP..... good hands, a little raw.... his highlight video showed a play were it took 4 DBs to tackle him..... might be a great special teams player Kofi Hughes*|*Indiana,*WR*:*2014 NFL Draft Scout Player Profile |

I would. I think we could get him for free on just a tryout. |

nope, the guy has already fired 2 or 3 agents, he needs to look in the mirror to find the problem Is Colt Lyerla Worth the Risk as an NFL Undrafted Free Agent? | Bleacher Report |
