Game Thread: Patriots vs. Redskins
Please no injuries.
1 TD Drive by Robert Hold Brady to zero points. My wish list. |
Re: Game Thread: Patriots vs. Redskins
Mission accomplished with Brady.
He's not playing. |
Re: Game Thread: Patriots vs. Redskins
Brady isn't playing, they are putting Mallet on display for Houston (or whoever else).
No injuries is always the biggest thing. I am looking forward to seeing our LB group play. I don't think we will know anything on the safeties till the season starts and people start exploiting them. I would love to see a nice long first drive, ending with a TD and then the starters sit. I don't want to see the kind of start the Giants had against the Bills. |
Re: Game Thread: Patriots vs. Redskins
The New England Patriots and the Washington Redskins will meet for the 21st time in the preseason, with New England holding a 13-7 advantage in the previous 20 contests. The only other teams the Patriots have played more in the preseason are the New York Giants with 23 and the Philadelphia Eagles with 21 preseason meetings.
The Patriots' 13 preseason victories over the Redskins are their highest total over any preseason opponent. The Patriots have won five straight preseason games against Washington and have won eight of the last 10 preseason games in the series. The teams last faced off against each other in the preseason in 2009 with the Patriots taking a 27-24 victory at Washington on Aug. 28, 2009. The Patriots and Redskins have met in the regular season nine times with the Redskins holding a 6-3 advantage. The Patriots earned their first-ever regular season win in Washington in the last regular season meeting between the two teams when the Patriots beat the Redskins, 34-27, on Dec. 11, 2011. Re: Game Thread: Patriots vs. Redskins
No serious injuries and I'm happy with anything else, even if we look horrid.
Don't forget, we were 4-0 and looking good in the preseason last year. |

Re: Game Thread: Patriots vs. Redskins
kinda hope brady was going to play
|
Re: Game Thread: Patriots vs. Redskins
Too bad Brady isn't playing. Although it could mean Hoody is that scared of our pass rush. :D
Which is what I'm looking forward to seeing most besides RG. Our defense supposedly got beat by the Patriots, but with the pass rushers able to hit the QB now, it'll be the first chance to see what we have. I really want to see the Yeti get a couple of sacks. Also looking forward to Ryan Grant and Chris Thompson. We've heard a lot about you, now show it out there. |
Re: Game Thread: Patriots vs. Redskins
Kinda wish we could skip right to the season. People get way too carried away with these preseason games.
|
Re: Game Thread: Patriots vs. Redskins
Anyone know where you can watch the game online?
|

Especially with the first game, when the starters barely play. If Brady played, he might take something like 10 snaps - big deal. |

NFL.com. If you want to pirate a free feed, though, you'll have to wait to search at game time. Illegal feeds don't advertise early. |

but still an opportunity to put him on the ground. |

Fair enough, and would have been nice. :) |

Or more likely he slices and dices his way down the field for a TD and everyone proclaims we'll be drafting #1 next year lol |
Re: Game Thread: Patriots vs. Redskins
Yall remember Brady yelling at his offensive cordinator on the sideline when Rexy was at QB and we took them deep into the 4th Quarter before the inevitable come back by the Pats? His tantrum was classic, that was my highlight of the Skins year.

Re: Game Thread: Patriots vs. Redskins
We should have beaten the Pats that day.

Final scores don't matter in preseason, but individual performances mean a lot. |

To a degree they do. But when a scrub QB, RB, WR, etc. tears it up in the 4th qtr against other scrubs, that's the kind of getting carried away I'm talking about. I'm talking about Pat White syndrome. |
Re: Game Thread: Patriots vs. Redskins
The biggest mis-direction from preseason games is special teams as a whole. They are putting everyone out there to see how it goes, but a lot of the ST guys tonight won't make the roster. On the other hand it also can let you see an individual who might be a stand out from hitting and effort level though.

You damn right they do when you got some sweet action on the game #degenerategambler |
Re: Game Thread: Patriots vs. Redskins
It seems every year that preseason's leaders in passing and/or rushing and/or receiving never make a squad. So even most individual performances don't mean much outside of the appreciation of the coaching staff...unless you are a degenerate gambler. :silly:

It looked more like Bill O'brien was the one having the tantrum. Not Brady. |
Re: Game Thread: Patriots vs. Redskins
Wish list for tonight , Crisp opening drive . Our young guys control the Line of scrimmage . A strong pass rush , nice coverage . A solid performance on special teams , solid tackling and no injuries .
|
Re: Game Thread: Patriots vs. Redskins
We have a game thread, which means this is game day. No other wish list needed, I'm happy as a pig in shit already!
|
Re: Game Thread: Patriots vs. Redskins
Let's eliminate Mallett from the trade bait conversation.
|
Re: Game Thread: Patriots vs. Redskins
Finally, some Redskins football! Let the games begin! So is it true that I can watch the game on NFL Network online? It won't be shown on TV in NC.

It was supposed to link to this thread. http://www.thewarpath.net/redskins-locker-room/53213-pat-white-or-sexxy-rexy.html |

I think CSN is actively trying to kill Joe's mic. It's sounds like a dying robot or something.

Re: Game Thread: Patriots vs. Redskins
Right now, no telecast at all due to "technical difficulties". Channel 54 Baltimore. Made a big deal out of "Redskins Television" broadcast at start of game. Nice flippin' job Redskins!
