Has it ever happened?
Not saying this is the scenario I want by any means, but has any college team had two players selected in the first round by the same NFL team? IE Rodgers/Campbell?

I hope we are not the first, Campbell will be a long term waste! |

Sort of like Ramsey and Jacob Taylor? |

Who? Jacob Taylor? Who's that? |

What? |
Re: Has it ever happened?

I assume you mean Taylor Jacobs. Neither he or Ramsey are a "long term waste"...at least not yet. After the whole Spurrier debacle, it looks like after having one full year under Gibbs, this is the year for both of them to prove themselves....and IMO, they both will. |
Re: Has it ever happened?
Ramsey went to Tulane. Jacobs played at Florida. ANybody know the answer yet?
|
Re: Has it ever happened?
in doing some research, haven't found the answer yet...
however, in 1984, Atlanta's first 3 picks (First, Second, Second) all came from Oklahoma... more to come... |
Re: Has it ever happened?
In 1983 San Diego selected Billy Ray Smith and Gary Anderson, both from Arkansas.
|
Re: Has it ever happened?
In 1948 our very own Redskins selected Harry Gilmer and Lowell Tew, both from Alamaba.
|
Re: Has it ever happened?
Also in 1948 Chicago selected Bobby Layne and Max Baumgardner, both from Texas.
|
Re: Has it ever happened?
does it really matter its gonna be pac-man jones and Matt Jones people.
|
Re: Has it ever happened?
In 1967 Minnesota selected Clinton Jones and Gene Washington, both from Michigan State.
|
Re: Has it ever happened?
I'd be happy with that. I think that Pacman will work out and even if Matt Jones doesn't, we DO have a long list of WRs.
|
Re: Has it ever happened?
Speaking of which, there was a post on another thread saying that we should package Moss up with Gardner.
Someone responded but I didn't understand their response. Anyone know the ramifications of that happening? |
Re: Has it ever happened?
In 1989 St Louis selected Bill Hawkins and Cleveland Gary, both from Miami.
|

Wow, davy's THE MAN on this thread! Nice work
|
Re: Has it ever happened?
In 1961 San Francisco selected Jimmy Johnson and Bill Kilmer, both from UCLA.
I think that's it. |

Both Moss and Gardner are in their last year of their rookie contract, and both want a new, big $$$ contract with their new team. I don't know if a team would want to two WR's in that same scenario at once....but who knows? |

Thanks PSUSkinsFan21, now if I could learn to spell Alabama I'd be very happy. |

Couldn't agree more! :biggthump |

I am starting to warm up to that idea at least Matt Jones, saw some more highlights of him last night and he just looks more and more impressive everytime I watch him, Personally I would deal down the #9 pick for more picks and grab a QB later in the first but I am ok with Pacman, but would role the dice try to pick up at least another pick and see if we can't snag C.Rogers, if not then I would probably deal down again for Justin miller out of Clemson. |

good idea, :biggthump plus there might be a chance that mike Williams may slipe to the nine, then I could see us taking him, and snagging the auburn qb at 25. |
Re: Has it ever happened?
Or Mike Williams/Troy Williamson at 9, and then CB Fabian Washington from Nebraska at 25?
|

That has my vote. I would be perfectly happy with the day if it ended like that. I don't want another QB. Everyone is seriously on Campbell's jock. |

didn't the skins rate rodgers over pacman? We did that last year too with roethlisburger, god were good! |
Re: Has it ever happened?
In 2005 the Redskins selected Carlos Rogers and Jason Campbell, both from Auburn.
The Redskins now lead the league in having drafted 2 players from the same College in the 1st round. :laughing- |
