Bucs vs. Skins Pregame Thread

I'm actually going to end up DVRing this game, because my job is having an event that I have to attend during the hours of the game. But they scheduled it... Get this... During the Ravens bye week. I work in Baltimore. Bastards.

Anyway, the Bucs have MAJOR QB problems, which you'd think the Skins D should be able to take advantage of. If the D steps up, we should take the Bucs handily.

If the regular Skins show up (which means half of the team either doesn't show up at all or leaves during halftime) this will end up being a nailbiting struggle a la the Vikings game.

Ergo... If we show up

Functioning Skins - 28
Bucs - 17

If we don't show up or the offense and/or defense disappears after halftime

Dysfunctional typical Skins we've come to know and love - 20
Bucs - 24

Why do I feel like this could be Jacksonville part deux?

Because Tampa Bay sucks. Difference is the Jags game was early on and the season was far from over. Not so much this game.

Skins - 31
Bucs - 21

The team is healthier and much more rested than the last time they were on the field. Tampa is near the bottom of the league in almost every team stat category.

RGIII looks improved and has a good day. Defense scores. I hope Demar Dotson (a cool guy/gentle giant) does well but Kerrigan still gets a couple of sacks.

Skins 34
Bucs 17

We will see 4 WR set and 2 TE sets, the keys are RGIII, OL protection and D not collapsing. Skins cruise through.

I have a good feeling about this game -- I like what I am hearing about the bye week, team health, folks stepping up in defense of RGIII, etc.

Skins 36
Bucs 16

RG3 has his best game in 3 years.

300 yards and 4 td passes.

Jackson 120 yards 2tds

38 - 20 skins

Not as optimistic about this game as some of you, but we should win a close one as long as Haslett doesn't sh*t the bed again...

27-24, Redskins. Griffin and the passing game roll with Morris having another solid game, the defense gets 3 sacks and a turnover(yes, a turnover!) and Roberts has a nice game on special teams.

I think defensively we can hang with them. As long as we don't have any turnovers giving up a short field, I think we win convincingly.

We also need for the offense to score early, and take advantage of short fields and turnovers caused by the defense.

I also will be DVRing the game as well since I'll be at the NICU with my son. So, no internet for me after I get back home and have a chance to see the game.

With that said, the Redskins should win this game. If they don't, they have no business winning any more games the rest of the season. I think they come out and show a sense of urgency.

Have anyone of you been watching the same team I have been? Skins barely win this one. But this game can easily go either way. No one is talking about Mike Evans. He's quietly coming on strong.

Yup. Mike Evans is a good one and certainly will get his yards. His presence is why I predicted that Tampa would score 17, not 10.

I have
A rusty RG3 put upn26 on a while lot better D than TB. Minny is fortunate that it was not 36 as we left much on the field. Get some good injury news as Cofield returns to the D and coming off the bye......rested
Play solid ball, leave Tampa with a 10 point V in hand
Skins 31..........21

Well I'm honestly as excited for this game as I have been since our 2012 playoff game against Seattle. Not thinking ahead to playoffs, or anything past Sunday really.

It's been 25 years of fan-hood for me with all the crap everybody here knows and has talked about a million times I'm sure. This franchise is due for some good fortune and I still have high hopes for RG and Gruden. I really like both these guys, they're underdogs in my book. RG because of all the injuries and scrutiny. Gruden because he's the first time HC coming into this franchise and all it's drama.

Re: Bucs vs. Skins Pregame Thread

This team is sick of the rumor crap. Good teams over come that stuff.

So far, I think they're fighting it back pretty well, considering it was a bye week and all.

Gruden, RG3 & the 'Skins pull it out.....'Skins 38, Tampa 24

Hail!

Thanks Art. So far, he's doing really well, but is still very likely to go in for open heart surgery in the next few weeks. We're praying it doesn't come to that though.

If we had beaten Minnesota like we should have I would think we would steamroll this game on our way to .500 and a good finish down the season, now I really don't give a damn about this game.

So my prediction: Someone wins, someone loses, and the Gameday thread is filled with angry stupid garbage everytime Tampa Bay gets a first down or gets a play over 6 yards.

I also predict that if we win, some will say that it's a sign that the Redskins are truly a strong team, poised to do some damage the rest of the season, far better than their record indicates, RGIII is back, etc. And if we lose, some will say that we're one notch, if that, above the lowly Raiders and Jags.

And, as usual, the truth will lie in the middle.

Thank you Punch It In and Lotus!

I have a thread about it in the Parking Lot Forum. Oh, and my boy is already a Redskins fan. He's born, and a few days later, the Redskins beat the Cowboys. He was fussy right before the Minnesota game - we lost! He's had a really good week this week....I think the 'skins take TB!

The team need this win more than ever to build their confidence that they can win with Robert at QB. The defense has to stop the run and put the Bucs in 3rd and long situation so I D-line can rush the QB. The offense needs to score TD's not FG's so they can take the life out of the Bucs early in the game. The defense needs to force 3 and outs or turnovers to give our offense a short field.
This is a Home game we have to win so I say the score will be:

Redskins- 30
Buccaneers-13

For people who are smarter than me at football things - what must occur for them to realize that perhaps they "can't" win with RG3 at Quarterback. I'm not suggesting we have to lose out or anything like that, but specifically what do they see that makes them move on? Would that truly be a Dan Snyder decision and not Bruce Allen?

I've always believed that next year RG3 battles with whoever is brought in as a FA for the starting QB job....

I dont think I have ever cared so little about a Skins game.
Maybe I am emotionally spent from watching my Canes blow it last night, but I have zero interest in this game. I was thinking about watching just to see how our alleged qb of the future does, but it is such a long way off until the start of next season and so much can happen between now and then.
Edit: If he lights it up and parties like its 2012, than that certainly bodes well for the future. I just will be wishing that him playing at that level coincided with a meaningful season.

People who are smarter than the people you refer to know that the best thing that can happen for Redskins fans is for RGIII to succeed as the Redskins starting QB.

Nobody, no matter how smart he may claim to be, knows what is going to happen. Let's all hope for the best.

That was a great game. Canes have a good young QB.
