# 21, Taylor....again.
Wierd but true, I guess he wanted some more attention.
Safety Sean Taylor has switched numbers, ending a long and strange process. Taylor wore No. 36 in his rookie season, and last month team officials believes he had changed to No. 21, and began printing and selling those jerseys. In fact, Taylor had not changed his number, and the team offered refunds to anyone who bought the No. 21 jerseys. Since then they have received confirmation that Taylor will in fact be changed to No. 21. Rogers said today that he hoped to wear that number but was informed Taylor will be wearing it. Smoot wore No. 21 last season. Taylor has not been the Redskins Park this spring and is not taking part in voluntary offseason workouts. Gibbs has said his absence is related to a desire to renegotiate his contract. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A11811-2005Apr23.html |

lol :laughing2

Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
If I'm Gibbs, I say show up and earn the priviledge to switch numbers. If not, stay at #36.

When a day isn't going very well, I can always count on someone from warpath to cheer me up.........Good One offiss.........:laughing-: |
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
Well at least Sean Taylor selected the same number as my favorite hoops player......
the OTHER #21....Tim Duncan............. |
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
who cares what number they choose. i care about the team, not the player.
|
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
Give 21 to our newest starting CB! :oink:
|
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
Sean Taylor is wanting "time away from football", yet he is spending his time worrying about jersey #s, #@$k him!!! If he wants the jersey, get your ass into workouts - if the new guy wants the jersey, let him have it - no player is bigger than the team, when your not with the team ... you don't get counted as part of the team.
|
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
I have trouble blaming him because I have little respect for our FO. I think you reap what you sew. I don't think they wronged Sean Taylor in anyway, but I still blame the Skins for it. That's what they get for being so stupid.

Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
weird... What number was rogers at auburn? Oh 14...I guess he cant keep that number in the pros.
|
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
I'm really getting bored with this number drama from Taylor, pick a goddamn # and stick with it already.
Just ridiculous. |
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
Maybe we should've drafted a safety............
|
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
If I didn't love him as a player on the field:
Ok, so you want a new contract, a new number? Well how about a new team, a$$hole!!! |
If I didn't love him as a player on the field:

Are you telling me that you would get rid of the highest rated prospect at his position in ten years because hes changing his number? Who the hell cares, hes a beast on the field. If he wants a new contract, who cares. The league set themselves up for stuff like this, it doesnt make him or TO a bad person. If an owner can call a player and say that im not honoring the contract and will cut you unless you take a paycut then the player can do the same thing. It doesnt make either right, but thats how it is in the league |

I understand what you're saying. But with his track record, it just makes you wonder "Ok, what's next???" Maybe sportscurmudgeon is right when he calls him a MEATHEAD! |
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
This guy has unbelievable talent, but he really is a screw up. He needs to grow up and develop some character and integrity if he wants anyone to respect him. Typical Miami product--I'm just glad they didn't get the chance to draft Rolle.

Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
them damn miami guys. bunch of punks.
|
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
Taylor's just a kid -- who cares if he wants his old number back? No big deal.
He'll be back playing for us by training camp, don't worry about it. |
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
I hope your right , Dirtbag.
|
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
are samari and antrel related?
|
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
Sure am glad I didn't buy a #36 Taylor jersey!!! I almost did. Now I'm not even sure I want his jersey anymore. I am really getting sick of his sh*t!!! :vomit-smi
|
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
IF he wasn't a ridiculous beast on the field I would say cut him. But he is young and he is very good and will only get better. Who cares what number... I just want less drama and I would love him to shut up and play. NO NEW CONTRACT. And even though we have a really dumb FO, he is the one that let Drew go before he inked his deal. Drew would have gotten him a deal he would've been happy with today.
|
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
He is screwing over all of HIS FANS that shelled out the cash for his #36 jersey....I'm glad I didn't. The #1 reason this guy needs to show up is so his coaches and teammates can get his head screwed on right. Not that changing numbers is a huge deal, but combined with everything else, it just proves that he is wishy-washy and immature, and has some issues that need to be worked out.
|
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
I'm getting a Sean Taylor "Etch-A-Sketch" jersey. When he changes his number again, I'll just shake the shirt and write in a new one.
|
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
Velcro on the numbers?
|
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
Velcro on the numbers?
Now that is funny!!! How about no names on the backs of the jerseys like Penn State... The ultimate non-selfish act. How crazy would that be? I know it is a nfl mandated policy, but that would be pretty cool if that was the thought of the team. I bet the Pats would have their jerseys like that if they had their way... |
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
Personally I hate jerseys without names, especially if it's a team I'm not familliar with. The skins I could recognize numbers (maybe not after all the switching that goes in in a typical Redskins offseason) but still.

But in that respect, that is the point. Not to recognize the individuals, but the body of work the team puts forth... I know what you are saying though... |
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
I say the official jersey for Taylor should be one big question mark. ?
|
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
I say the official jersey for Taylor should be one big question mark. ?
Good idea then we could just refer to him as... HUH? |
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
the skins need to take a hard line on taylor and moss!i'd tell them to get their asses into camp, honor their contracts,or they are gonna go on the reserved left camp/or the suspended list and not play or get any money at all.
|
Re: # 21, Taylor....again.
Well first of all they have not violated anything yet. They have simply stayed away from the voluntary portion. Perhaps on thier agent demands in order to force a bigger contract. This is a good tact for Moss as he only has one year left on his contract and will be able to test the waters later. But Taylor will get fined and put himself in a huge hole. He has already created anmosity amongst teamates and fans.
