Haslett was hired as the Washington Redskins defensive coordinator on January 12, 2010 under head coach Mike Shanahan. Haslett replaced the retiring Greg Blache.[4] Haslett's defense was ranked 21st in points allowed in his first season and has been ranked the same or lower in each subsequent season. After many speculated he would be fired after the disastrous 2013 season, new head coach Jay Gruden announced Hastlett would remain on the team for the upcoming 2014 season. On December 31, 2014, it was announced that Jim Haslett and the Redskins mutually agreed to part ways. [5] |
Re: Haslett Skins Part Ways
Thank god everyone can come down off the ledge now.
|
Re: Haslett Skins Part Ways
What's more troubling? The fact that a) it took this long, or b) Gruden wanting to keep him, or c) Bruce and Snyder made the decision?

Well if you are on the edge might as well jump because i think he is staying. IMO, Allen is still an upgrade from Vinny. |

Re: Haslett Skins Part Ways
Snyder needs to fly to Rex Ryan's home, and do this:

That obviously has to wait at least a year, since Haslett's demise is a Bruce decision so Snyder is not giving up on his buddy yet. We need fans at games with "Fire Bruce!" signs. We need a truck with a "Fire Bruce!" sign to travel around the DMV area, especially near Redskins Park. |

It has really been Allen's sole gig this season before it was him and MS. |

The rest of the defensive staff is still there, how about I just take 1 step back so I'm not as close? We need ALL new voices on defense. Still hoping for real GM, not gonna happen though it appears. |

Goddamn right!! Happy, Happy New Year!! This is a great way to start the new year. HTTR!! |
Re: Haslett Skins Part Ways
I would love Rex ryan but I don't see that happening. Probably going to get someone that isn't really known just yet.
|
Re: Haslett Skins Part Ways
Like someone else suggested, let's get Ken Norton Jr. Bowles would be my first choice but he won't come unless he is as a HC.
|
Re: Haslett Skins Part Ways
Washington Post just reported Jim Hasletts last words before leaving Redskin Park.
Jimbo-"Well the Warpath won't have Jim Haslett to kick around anymore." |

Im not coming down till raheem moore is gone! |
Re: Haslett Skins Part Ways
The new defensive coordinator will clear the assistant coaches out and bring in his/her people. Especially if it's an established name.
|
Re: Haslett Skins Part Ways
The smart thing to do is to hire Rex Ryan. The idiotic thing to do is hire someone other than Rex Ryan. I am confident that Redskin management will do the idiotic thing.

Rex has offers to be a HC, why would he want to be a DC. The Ryan's are overrated, there are other young guys like Ken Norton Jr. That need a chance. |

This is exactly right. He won't come here. |

the idiotic thing to do is to think Rex Ryan is taking a DC job. its either Chicago or Atlanta HC job or ESPN. |

Thinking isn't doing, but I get it. It's beyond be why dumb organizations do dumb things like hire Tresman, fire Mike Smith or hire Rex Ryan as their replacement head coach. I'd like to think Chicago and Atlanta aren't that stupid but then I read your posts to affirm my belief that the world is full of idiots. |
Re: Haslett Skins Part Ways
What are the chances Morris is promoted to DC?
Slim, I hope. |
Re: Haslett Skins Part Ways
Snyder, pull out the check book and throw wads of cash at Bowles!!! Bring him home. That would be sweet. Even if not likely, it's worth a shot. Money is a helluva drug.
(so much easier telling other people to spend their money lol) |

Wooo hoooo!

Re: Haslett Skins Part Ways
Finally. 3 days after the season ended? This is a solid start for our offseason, hope it's only the first good move.

Re: Haslett Skins Part Ways
Hopefully the next DC gets some serious help when it comes to talent on that side of the ball.
Not excusing Haz at all but with the injuries and a flat out lack of quality talent it's hard to see any coach having much success. The safeties have been horrible for years, corner is always thin, and outside of Kerrigan this year no consistent pressure. |

Like that wonderful game when our offense could only muster 3 points from three turnovers. If we continue to have the clogged toilet offense, no matter what the team does the defense will continue to struggle. |

C'mon you know this was lucky, we will proceed to f up the rest of the off season lol. Terrible off seasons is 1 of our calling cards. Get ready for some more Shawn Lauvao type signings. |
