Who is the player you dont want at #5 in the draft?
I will wreck my living room if we pick Marriota at 5. I just dont think he has it to play QB at this level.
Who is the one guy you dont want at 5? |

Gregory and Ray

Re: Who is the player you dont want at #5 in the draft?
Gregory or Ray b/c I think Gregory is a character risk and Ray b/c think his a cut below Fowler/Beasley.
Not a clear "oh no, dear God, No!!", I would rather not pick Mariotta. First, I am not ready to give up on RGIII just yet. Second, I saw MM in a couple games and was unimpressed. I just don't see it, but, if Scot McC does ... okay. Similarly, not a fan of White but not dead set against him either - the fact that he has only one big year concerns me (but he wasn't in Div. I his first couple years so he may be a legit late bloomer). Would prefer value over reach picks like Scherf or L. Collins (i.e. guys who will be gone by our next pick but really should be able to trade back and still get). Bottom line, however, I am drunk on Scot McC kool-aide at the moment and, if he picked this guy: I would be okay with it. |

I know at 5 I would be very disappointed if we went Oline with the pick, you shouldnt be taking a Guard or Right Tackle at 5 in the draft.

That way if Gruden fails , we could bring U. Meyer to coach us to many Super Bowl wins !! |

Alvin I always suspected you might be an Eggo man. Is that what made you do it?

Re: Who is the player you dont want at #5 in the draft?
Any WR. Say no to WR's.
|
Re: Who is the player you dont want at #5 in the draft?
Fowler. Reminds me of Rakpo one trick pony straight bull rush no counter move. I did like Rakpo don't get me wrong but we tryed that route already. I hope we go DF's with our first two picks. Hopefully trade back to get more picks.

I agree. Good WR's are always available every off season. Dime a dozen. |

Mariotta

Re: Who is the player you dont want at #5 in the draft?
Randy Gregory - He's another Barkevious Mingo. He has a small frame, he's actually lost ~10lbs since the combine. He's going to struggle to stay large enough for the NFL game.
Shane Ray - He didn't start as a Jr. at Mizzou... now you want to tell me he's worth the 5th overall pick? This guy is a situational pass rusher. I want a 3 down player at #5. Mariotta - I'm pretty done with the spread offense high pick QB right now. |

To answer the thread: Mariota, Cooper.

Re: Who is the player you dont want at #5 in the draft?
Cooper or Williams, Gregory third. I don't think Cooper or Williams will be available at 5 though.

Re: Who is the player you dont want at #5 in the draft?
^Why not Williams?

I'm rooting for a trade. |
Re: Who is the player you dont want at #5 in the draft?
I'll be honest, I haven't really checked out the prospects other than the occasional quick glance at a highlight reel. But I'm all for McC taking BPA. Idc if that's Williams, or Amari Cooper, or even a RT if we trade down and that's the best player on their board, but when I see people talking about can't miss prospects I don't see anyone in this draft that looks like a sure thing. Every year right at this time every prospect gets hyped. The same guys we're hyping up right now we might be asking ourselves in 8 months,"how the hell did anyone ever conclude this guy was worth a first rounder?"
So with that being said, the hypothetical player that I don't want is anyone that really didn't perform that well at the college level, and is being purely hyped based on combine drills (which I really am starting to dislike because the majority of them don't have anything to do with how well you can play football), or how athletic they are, or how their attitude sucked in college but the talent was too good to ignore. Great players have been selected in every round of the draft. Just because we have the 5th pick doesn't mean we're guaranteed a great player. What if a couple years from now the top 5 picks in this draft are all terrible? McC has said he prefers taking players who have shown results on the field, I just hope he stays true to that this year. This entire thing is a crapshoot anyways. |
