Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
Who do we take tonight? Collins? Gregory? Another OLineman?
|
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
Landon Collins, Randy Gregory, Jaelen Strong, Dorial Green-Beckham, La'el Collins, Eric Kendricks, Denzel Perryman, Duke Johnson, Ameer Abdullah, Eli Harold, Stefon Diggs are all names that are gonna be on the board in the 2nd or 3rd.
|
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
Gotta think we would go pass rusher here in the second. I'd keep my eye on Eli Harold.
There is some serious talent at ilb on the board |
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
I wouldn't touch Randy Gregory unless he falls to the 3rd round. If teams are willing to pick Shane Ray (pot arrest and foot injury that will may sideline him for some games) over him, then there's something really wrong with Gregory.
|
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
2nd Pick
No Gregory, too many issues. Eric Rowe, CB, Utah - Can play CB, but likely move to S. Smart, fast, physical. Jake Fisher, OT, Oregon - He and La'el Collins are pretty similar, without the off-field issue that could turn out to be more than what it appears (read, risk) I would take Collins. 3rd Pick AJ Cann, OG, South Carolina (if 2nd pick is not an OL) or Brett Hundley, QB, UCLA |
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
Gregory can't play the run for shit.
|
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
I hated to see Laken Tomlinson go in the 1st Round. I would have taken him in the 2nd Round in a heartbeat.
There are still a lot of very good players available. If SM just goes with his draft board, we'll do fine. Personally, I like these players a lot in the 2nd Round: TJ Clemmings (OT), Ameer Abdullah (RB), Eric Rowe (at FS), Duke Johnson (RB), AJ Cann (OG), Bernardrick McKinney (ILB), and Denzel Perryman (ILB). I want one more big, nasty O-Lineman somewhere in this draft. |
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
I'd be surprised if we don't end up taking a WR or RB today. Lots of talent left in those two positions.
|
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
I have a feeling that La'el Collins is not going to be drafted or will be drafted in the lower rounds.

The police said he's not even a suspect and had not had contact with the victim since September. I would have no problem if we drafted him. That would give us two young studs on the o-line. |

Well it looks like Collins himself wanted to pulled out of the draft to resolve this situation: NFL rejects La'el Collins' request to be pulled from draft - NFL.com Given what happened with Aaron Hernandez, I'm sure teams are very wary of his situation. I know they are not the same situation, but I can see a lot of teams not taking on the risk. |
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
Dude I feel bad for the kid at LSU. He did not do anything wrong. He was no where near the murder and is fully co-operating with police and left the biggest moment of his life to do so. I'd draft him and be good on the Oline for a while. We would have three 1st round draft talents on the line, and would effectively turned a weakness to a strength in one draft instead of two.

I agree. However I did not realize that this was his former girlfriend. Just cause he wasn't anywhere near the scene doesn't mean he wasn't involved. Also it would be important to know if that kid is his. |

I knew it was his ex. It may be his child and again just because these things are true doesn't mean he had something to do with it. Again we will see. My guess is he gets drafted late |

Man a lot of good talent is left out there |

That means he's PERFECT!!!! |
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
I'd take Collins if he's available and I hope that's our pick. I wouldn't mind Green-Beckham either but rather go defense. 3rd round I say more OL
|
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
My bet is Harold or a lineman at 38 and a safety or RB at 3.
|
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
Would any of you consider Hundley in the 2nd?
|

I'd say Harold or ilb at 38 and rb or TE in the 3rd |

Absolutely not |
Would any of you consider Hundley in the 2nd?
Nope. He's too much of a project. 6th rounder. I'd prefer someone that's a little more polished. |
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
Kikaha sounds interesting:

Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
Collins = Alvin Walton- great against the run, fair vs the pass
a possible option: Owamagbe Odighizuwa, DE, UCLA, NFL Draft - CBSSports.com - NFLDraftScout.com |

My bet is on Collins if he is there at our pick and Diggs in the 3rd |
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
Sammie coats is also an interesting prospect, big and fast.

One of the so called draft experts on the NFL Network said yesterday La'el Collins was considered squeaky clean when teams did their background checks on him. Obviously this was before the murder of his ex GF. An eagle scout, a smart guy and has never been in trouble before. Not even close. My gut feeling is La'el Collins would not send someone to murder his possible babies momma two day before the NFL draft. I might end up being wrong, but i would take a chance on him with a 7th round pick rather then roll the dice on some nobody that has very little chance to make the team. This guy has talent. |
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
2nd round either Landon Collins, SS or Maxx Williams, TE
I would not be surprised by a trade down from 38 Rd 3 Garrett Grayson QB |

Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
No QBs until the 5th or later when you can get Connor Halliday.
|
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
I think we'll draft another OL in either the 2nd or 3rd round.
I doubt that any of us would be surprised if we trade down from 38. Trading down in later rounds is practically useless because there is little chance of 6th and 7th rounders sticking. |

I say 4th round. How can you fail a drug test at the combine?? |
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
Looks like a pretty good FS prospect. Thanks for bringing him to my attention Sammy.

Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
TJ Clemmings would be a great pick at #38, IMO. He's athletic and nasty like Scherff. When Clemmings is ready to play RT, then Scherff could move to OG and it would be Hogs II.

By doing "drugs" before the combine. |
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
Best OLB
Best safety Best TE Best ILB Best RB I bet it will be another offensive guy though. :joecool: |
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
Fuck it. We're on a roll so let's continue this OL train so we can kick all those bums to the curb. In Scott we trust!
|
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
With so many talented OL available, pick one and solve the OL Problem for good
|
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
La'el Collins won't play this season if not selected and will re-enter 2016 draft if that happens.
|
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
Gregory can't play the run for shit.
Thats what pot roast is for. We need a guy that gets to the passer. Ill be pretty happy with the pick if its him. |
