Sick catch

Check out this Roy Williams catch during a Lions practice

Wow!

Re: Sick catch

you know, thats nice and all, but it's just a catch. it's minicamps, a lot of receivers make spectacular catches and it doesn't mean anything.

MTK 05-09-2005 11:27 PM

Re: Sick catch

that's pretty crazy

Re: Sick catch

It was a great catch. He was probably playing against scrubs though. Springs and Rogers (hopefully) won't give him that much breathing room.

SmootSmack 05-09-2005 11:39 PM

Re: Sick catch

RW made some sick catches during the regular season as well didn't he? He's the one who, week one, climbed the ladder on some poor defender and made a one-handed grab right?

he made a good catch against us last year, it may have been against springs but i think it was against smoot. but it was probably some kind of zone coverage because i never really payed any attention to the defense we were playing.

Re: Sick catch

it doesnt matter where he made the catch,it was outstanding!!

NCSkinfan 05-10-2005 01:49 AM

Re: Sick catch

Amazing catch.

Someone said he was playing scrub defenders, I don't think it would have mattered who the defenders were, they were not within arms reach of him when he actually had possesion of it. That catch made the defenders irrelevant. The catch was the amazing part, not the route, not his position, the catch.

Breathing room? He had breathing room on that catch? I don't think so. Seems to me the defender was right on him.

Re: Sick catch

Definitely. Good thing is, we're not seeing anything saying "Mike Willams VERY impressive in camp..."

I'm starting to feel more at ease, even though this IS just camp.

MTK 05-10-2005 08:50 AM

Re: Sick catch

Roy Williams is a freak, I have a feeling he could be the next great WR in the league, not as freakish as Moss but close.

TheMalcolmConnection 05-10-2005 08:53 AM

Re: Sick catch

Definitely. He made some circus catches last year.

SKINSnCANES 05-10-2005 09:13 AM

Re: Sick catch

who cares that it was a practice, its still a good catch. Now if gardner had made that catch in practice Id be the first to point out that its practice, which is perhaps why people on here think that. But Roy made some big plays last year. They definitly have a very nice receiving corps.

Id say whats more important than him making that catch, is who threw it to him? It was behind him so probably Harrington, lol

TheMalcolmConnection 05-10-2005 09:43 AM

Re: Sick catch

Harrington is one those people who just doesn't look like they belong in the NFL. He still looks like he is in high school.

FRPLG 05-10-2005 10:04 AM

Re: Sick catch

The catch he made against us was incredible. He climed the ladder and caught a ball one-handed. Not one-handed like tipped it and craddled it but one-handed like the ball stuck in his one hand as he was stretched out like 3 feet in the air. Totally silly.

Daseal 05-10-2005 10:10 AM

Re: Sick catch

Exactly - he made a catch like that on us last year. Right at the begining of the game then (luckily for us) he had to leave the game!

I remember getting laughed up and down this board saying Ro Will was better than Fitz hands down. Seems to be a different tone now!

MTK 05-10-2005 11:10 AM

Re: Sick catch

Once again Daseal the swamie is right.

How about your predictions regarding the Pats last year? I seem to recall you saying something about their D was going to stink without big Ted Washington.

;)

Daseal 05-10-2005 11:22 AM

Re: Sick catch

Yep - pats pulled it out. Won't happen this year. Maybe Bellichek will return to the genius he was in Cleveland. Without his coordinators I think they're done for good!

I also expected the Dolphins to have Ricky and Buffalo's D to be somewhat better!

Daseal 05-10-2005 11:42 AM

Re: Sick catch

I also seem to remember somebody saying the skins would go 10-6. Ring any bells, Matty?

SmootSmack 05-10-2005 11:51 AM

I don't remember you getting laughed up and down this board Daseal for saying RW was better than Fitz...got any proof?

Sure, but I think that was my best case scenario, I think I was also predicting 8-8.

Who isn't optimistic in the summer anyway??

Ummmm......Daseal?

Re: Sick catch

Whatever. Daseal farts sunshine and rainbows when he thinks of the Skins. ;)

Daseal 05-10-2005 07:47 PM

Re: Sick catch

TAFKAS - I do believe that the board has crashed between now and then - I'll try to remember when finals are over because the search doesn't seem to go back that far if not.

SmootSmack 05-10-2005 08:16 PM

Re: Sick catch

By the way Daseal, what do you think of your boy Spurrier's new name for his offense?

So many jokes running through my head right now

Re: Sick catch

Sounds like a porno.

mooby 05-10-2005 09:16 PM

Re: Sick catch

lol. steve spurrier should just quit. lets hear some more of those jokes, tafkas.

TheMalcolmConnection 05-10-2005 09:52 PM

Re: Sick catch

Also sounds like an STD.

Daseal 05-10-2005 11:22 PM

Re: Sick catch

I don't care what he calls it as long as he doesn't call it max protect, because we've seen that doesn't put any points up.

SmootSmack 05-11-2005 12:10 AM

Re: Sick catch

It can get you Super Bowl rings though

Daseal 05-11-2005 12:27 AM

Yeah, and leather helmets protected you in the 50's.

SmootSmack 05-11-2005 12:31 AM

Re: Sick catch

OK...well I'm not going to turn this into another "what has Gibbs done for me lately" thread. Wouldn't be fair to the 900+ members who are sick of that already

Daseal 05-11-2005 12:43 AM

Re: Sick catch

Instead you prefer the what did Spurrier do topic that all the members of this board are craving to hear?

SmootSmack 05-11-2005 12:54 AM

Re: Sick catch

You must be confusing this board with another one...I'd rather not keep rehashing Spurrier, Marty, Robiskie, Norv or any other head coach no longer with the Redskins

Now how about that catch!

Daseal 05-11-2005 01:35 AM

Re: Sick catch

Amazing catch, without a doubt. Wish we had a receiver with half of Ro Will's talent!

MTK 05-11-2005 08:30 AM

Re: Sick catch

Roy Williams is a Hall of Famer in the making ;)

John Hasbrouck 05-12-2005 01:24 AM

Re: Sick catch

he made a hell of a catch on an overthrown ball

dirtbag2112 05-12-2005 01:59 PM

Re: Sick catch

sick catch...I'm thinking though a coach like Parcells or Coughlin probably would have chewed him for making such an unorthodox grab. lol

RedskinsJunkie 05-14-2005 08:47 PM

Re: Sick catch

Great grab... He made an excellent one handed stab against us last year too... He is going to be a great one... Whatever happend to Charlie Rodgers??? Hurt himself at the McDonalds drive thru and is out this season as well...
