Winslow

Now that Kellen Winslow's 05 season is more than likely over. The question I have for the forum is if he was to be released next season would you as the skins make a run at the bad luck TE.

for me i would say yes, he wanted to be a skin anyway, and hopefully by that time he would have fired his agents the postons. he has tremendous upside if healthy and he has a lot to prove what do you guys think?

I'm tired of hearing about this clown.

Re: Winslow

If he is cheap and looking to prove something, yes.

If he is still an assclown, causing trouble, no.

:vomit-smi NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Re: Winslow

Honestly, for as much shit as I give him, I'd be willing to take a risk on him. Maybe he's learned his lesson by now. Give him a very incentive laden contract and we could possibly have BOTH of the draft picks we wanted.

he might never be the same though, and he's a dim asshole to boot :(

He won't come cheap, I guarantee you that. I'd be willing to give him a look.

Re: Winslow

:banghead: when he's done bangin his head against the wall then maybe, but he seems pretty hard headed.maybe he thinks he can break it.it's tough luck but after last year and his obvious inexperience he should not have been riding like that.he just got done watching some bikers doing extreme stunts and thought he could just snag one out.i hope he realizes, no more games or he won't play in any.took a long about way to say, if he's grown up, then by all means , but if not i pass.:vomit-smi

Re: Winslow

If he's grown up the slightest bit, that's already an improvement over Taylor.

Re: Winslow

he's had 3 major injuries to that one leg. i doubt he will ever be at his full potential again.

SkinsRock 05-20-2005 03:37 PM

Re: Winslow

ONLY if he drops the Postons....and then, it's still a maybe. Even if he doesn't, he won't have the leverage to get a big contract. If the Browns do cut him in 2006, he may end up being cheaper than we may think, since he will be more of a "project" after being basically out of football for two years, combined with the question of how the leg injuries will affect his performance on the field.

TheMalcolmConnection 05-20-2005 03:38 PM

Re: Winslow

I do too, but I'd be willing to take a chance on him if he passes physicals AND some mental tests with Gibbs.

MTK 05-20-2005 03:40 PM

Re: Winslow

Too risky, he now has significant injury concerns, his agents are a royal pain, and he's an ass himself.

A big no thanks. We passed on him once already.

Re: Winslow

I think that he would be kind of like the fat chick who'd be hot if she lost weight that has to have a personality. The potential is there and because of all of his problems, he has to develope a good attitude out of necessity, even if it's only monetary.

Red Robert 05-20-2005 04:04 PM

Re: Winslow

Winslow will go down as big a failure as his father was great. I would not take this guy if you paid me. He is a cancer and his attitude is horrible. Any potential he may have had is on some curb in Cleveland right now. This guy is done.

TheMalcolmConnection 05-20-2005 04:14 PM

Re: Winslow

I too, think he is done. If someone would prove otherwise, maybe through a rookie-like workout and see how his speed/cuts are, I think I'd consider him. I think he's been handed a HUGE slice of humble pie. Sometimes that is just enough.

Re: Winslow

Never, and just imagine if he did do good for us.... you guys dont think the attitude would come right back? think people

he will be all quiet and ready to play...then when he has a half ass season, he will think he needs another major contract again. we dont need the headache

Haha.

See I was thinking of it the other way. Winslow is that really hot girl who's a bitch AND really dumb. And it's a lot of fun to walk around and have people look at you with the hot chick, and see the looks of envy on their faces, but you just can't stand her.

I prefer Cooley and Royal, who are the kinda cute chick with the awesome personality.

[Oh and the 2nd chick (Cooley) is good in the sack, while the 1st one (Winslow) has STDs.]

Thanks. But NO thanks! :nono: I don't like the Guy at all. He has one of the worst attitudes in the NFL. :vomit-smi

At least the pain in the ass "U" guy that we drafted last year actually performs on the field....during the season that is.....

PSUSkinsFan21 05-20-2005 06:01 PM

Re: Winslow

For me, any potential upside is outweighed by having an attitude like that on my team. I just can't bring myself to cheer for a guy like that.....no matter what uniform he's wearing. I'd rather lose without him than win with him. I know not everybody agrees with that, but that's my stance. I wouldn't want him for anything.......regardless of talent, agent, contract......just doesn't matter to me.
Best way for me to sum it up: Winslow as a Skin = me :vomit-smi

I love your analogy. That's some funny shi-.

Re: Winslow

it would cost the browns way too much to release him before next year. my guess is that they give him one more season to prove his worth before cutting their losses.
my guess is also that if he finally has a solid year he starts whining about how much money he lost and how he NEEDS a new contract. i would say that the browns are snakebit, but when you draft high maintenence jerks represented by even bigger jerks the outcome should not surprise anyone.
contrast that with the skins 2 high character first round picks this year. i do not think you could find 2 more respectfull and quietly confident players than rogers and campbell.

mooby 05-21-2005 12:17 AM

Re: Winslow

if he does get released i think a lot of teams would consider not signing him because his agent's suck. nobody likes to deal with the postons. but if he was willing to sign for like the bare minimum, then i would sign him. until then, bad move.
He won't come cheap, I guarantee you that. I'd be willing to give him a look.
He might not come cheap but didn't the Redskins screw Arrington out of 6.5 dealing with those idiot agent?
