Redskins/Giants: Gameday Thread
Alright, let's get this game thread started!
A win by the Skins will be HUGE in my opinion. It will make a big statement in many different ways. I'm cautiously optimistic that we will pull out the win. |

Re: Redskins/Giants: Gameday Thread
I'm scared given our recent history on primetime, but this season has a different vibe to it. Cautiously optimistic is how I'm feeling. Just so I don't jinx us, I think the Giants will win 42-14, and Cousins will unravel after they shut down our running game.

Re: Redskins/Giants: Gameday Thread
Changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes. Your 2015 Redskins are not your 2014 Redskins. They are much better and what a better time to change this losing during primetime games than tonite. HTTR!!

Re: Redskins/Giants: Gameday Thread
I will say this: whichever team loses, the fan base will be pretty despondent.
For the Giants, it means 0-3, endless talk about whether Coughlin has lost it, whether they spent too much on Eli, whether Reese has lost his marbles in picking players, etc. For the Redskins, I worry that folks will overreact that it is evidence that we're still a terrible team, joke of a franchise, meddling owner, QB hell, etc. To be clear, I think this is just 1 game out of 16, and we need to keep that perspective. But to read articles about this game or listen to the radio, you'd think that this game is the defining moment for both franchises for years to come. HTTR, baby! Let's break out of the prime time funk. |
Re: Redskins/Giants: Gameday Thread
Reading about how stout the Giants are against the run. How? I can't even name a single player on their defensive line.

I think teams know how bad the secondary is and therefore throw on them a lot more. Also, look who they've faced in the RB position so far this season. Dallas hasn't run the ball well at all, and I don't even know who Atlanta's RBs are. That average number is about to go north, courtesy of the Redskin's MoJo. |

im trying to pump my governor but its hard.

Just posted this in another thread, but I think it bears repeating. Our recent history on primetime is actually pretty dang good. Under Gruden we have played 4 primetime games. We got our butts kicked by the Gints early last year, but than we beat the Eagles, beat the Cowboys, and played a pretty good game against the NFC Champion Seahawks. As we all seem to agree this team seems to have not only more talent, but certainly more toughness and fight early on. So lets keep that primetime mojo rolling tonight and kick the living shit out of the God damned Giants and their putrid secondary! 38-20 Skins! HTTR! Edit : Calia is 100% rite - dont be fooled by the Giants run D ranking. They have faced absolutely nothing on the ground so far. As for our Run O ranking we have faced two very good front 7's and absolutely chewed them up and spit them out. |
Re: Redskins/Giants: Gameday Thread
I am nervous, these are the type of games where you think the skins can win and then they pull their BS and just look awful. Thus pissing me the fawk off. Hello no sleep.
|
Re: Redskins/Giants: Gameday Thread
I'm excited to see which team shows up. Hope to see more great stuff from our OL and DL.

Re: Redskins/Giants: Gameday Thread
If Cousins throws one or less picks we win.
If our line line has a repeat performance, we win. If MoJo has a repeat performance, we win. |

Just win. I'm tired of the embarrassing performances both on national tv and against the giants.

I look at it this way, week one was an improvement over last season, week two was an improvement over week one. I like the trend, I can't wait to watch this game and I have a lot of confidence the Redskins will take an opportunity to kick the Giants while they are down. I would like to wash the last two years from my memory, a dominating win against the Giants will help do that. |
Re: Redskins/Giants: Gameday Thread
I hope we run right at them.
Downhill. Steady diet of Alf and Jonsie. Find out if the Gints can stop and if they're willing to commit to stopping it. And if they're not? Crack open a brew and watch the Billy C and the boys put in work. |

I'm going out of town this weekend for a family wedding, got a ton of shit to do tonight (on top of the Skins game) so I can leave tomorrow. At least I won't have to figure out a way to watch the Skins game while I'm out of town though. All I have to do right now is sit here and wait until 5 pm though. |

I heard Quadry Ismail spout the same theory. If The Redskin's rushing attack is for real they will shred The G-Nats defense on the ground. |
Re: Redskins/Giants: Gameday Thread
We gotta win this one. When we loose to the Giants I have to hear that shit all week long. I live in New York so I hate the fuckin Giants more than them Cowboys

This is just like Week 3 2007... Back then we let them off the mat and they went on to win the Super Bowl.
Let's finish the job this time boys. :spank: |

This girl isn't much of a sports fan.. I kindly offered to move our date to another night because I forgot about the game being tonight. That went about as well as you might expect.. |

Well, if he does too much of 1, it may adversely affect the availability of 3. When I was single, the availability of 3 was a very, very high priority. |

Are you willing to do that for the rest of your life? I had a friend who was a major sports junkie, he hid that from his first wife who hated any kind of sports. He used to tape games then wait till his wife went to sleep and then go watch them. He was a Seattle fan, he had all the sports packages to watch the Sonics (now the Thunder) Mariners, and the Seahawks. Only during the 3 months out of the year where those 3 sports aren't on did he not have nights of 2 hours sleep (He also spent 3 hours a day commuting to work). After about 3 years of this he finally came clean, his wife then had an affair and they were divorced within a year of him coming out. Sorry, I just had to tell that story. |
Re: Redskins/Giants: Gameday Thread
I'm excited for this game. It's been a long ass while since I was able to say that about a Skins game. I hope they don't dash my hopes.

This one is a bigger fan of steak and beer which is pretty good too.. |

Did you adopt? :laughing-[/quote] sadly no, he got into football as Eli and the Giants were doing good, and then I took him to the Monday Night game which shall not be mentioned, hoping the Skins would at least give me a shot, but no, Zorn went loony, and the Giants cemented their standing with him. Ugh. |
