The McDonalds All-Day Breakfast Thread
So....have any of you gentlemen / ladies participated in the all day breakfast at McDonalds?
When i heard about it over the summer, I felt like it was a true prayer answered...but around here, it's been anything but. You see, the term "all day breakfast" is misleading. It is a select menu only, and McD Corporate has left it up to its stores to decide what they serve every day, "all day". For me, our stores must be under-performing or maybe not doing very well, because our "all day breakfast" right down the road from where I work, has been really pathetic. Last Thursday, I went for the first time. On that day, all they were serving all day was egg McMuffins....This past Saturday, the all day offering was......Hash Browns....that's right, hash browns was the sole offering on this day. Feeling like this couldn't be just me that experienced this, i took to reddit, and other webpages to see if others have had the same experience. Yup. One guy wrote to me about a McD in PA, that on the very first day of All Day Breakfast, offered only Hot Chocolate, which i thought was already an any-time order. Apparently not. I was hoping that the breakfast concept, while novel, would catch on with some other chains, but i have a feeling this will be over soon. So how has it been for you folks? Are the better / bigger McDonalds offering a better all day breakfast selection where you live? |
Re: The McDonalds All-Day Breakfast Thread
The couple of McDonalds I've been to has been serving McMuffins, hotcakes and hashbrowns. It's been a weakness so far as I only go to Mickey D's for breakfast but I'm on a strict diet so no more fast food for a good long time.
I know down south they offer the biscuit meals, not McMuffins. |
Re: The McDonalds All-Day Breakfast Thread
Funny to see this as a thread...and yes I've been. Bacon egg and cheese with a hash brown. I usually detest anything mcd, but their breakfast isn't half bad.
I suffer from acid reflux and take daily medication. I cannot eat a heavy breakfast (eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, potatoes, ect) becuase it can really excite the symptoms. Usually just have fruit or a bagel in the morning. But I've found my reflux is not as bad around dinner time, so once or twice a month I'll have breakfast for dinner....hash browns, eggs, cheese, bacon, omelots. Actually just picked up some eggs yesterday with some crab meat and mild cheddar for some omelettes some time this week. When micky d announced this, I thought it was pretty cool |
Re: The McDonalds All-Day Breakfast Thread
I partook once. No problems with the offerings at the locations in our area. They're offering everything they said they would and doing so quickly.
As I get older (36 now) my GI tract does a poorer and poorer job of handling McD's food. Feels like a brick in my gut. I don't imagine using the all day breakfast thing very often. |
Re: The McDonalds All-Day Breakfast Thread
I haven't even tried it. I feel like the only one that enjoys their regular menu over their breakfast menu.

Re: The McDonalds All-Day Breakfast Thread
I have used it at a couple here in aa county and Howard and they have had the sausage mcmuffins and hash browns. There was a yahoo piece written on how it hasn't gone smoothly though. Some franchises don't want to offer lower costing breakfast items because it knocks their profit margins down.

Sent from my S6 Edge
Yeah probably doesn't make a lot of sense especially for the smaller stores to give up grill space for breakfast items. My first job back in the day was at McD's and I know when it got busy you needed every possible inch of grill space. And breakfast was just never as busy as lunch and dinner. |
Re: The McDonalds All-Day Breakfast Thread
I went once. The McDs in Montgomery Village had mcmuffins, hot cakes and hash browns.
I dont always eat McDonalds, but when I do its a sausage, egg and cheese mcgriddle. |

But friends of mine who live just in Front Royal say that their McDonalds have just about a full breakfast menu. Reading threads on Reddits, Franchise owners were "forced" to participate in All-day breakfast, but the catch being that they were technically in compliance as long as they served at least one breakfast item, which is why around here i believe we've only seen the hash browns and egg mcmuffin at most.... |
Re: The McDonalds All-Day Breakfast Thread
bullshit, the only thing i would get for breakfast was egg white delight sandwiches. surprise surprise, not available during all day breakfast.
fuck mcdonalds. |
Re: The McDonalds All-Day Breakfast Thread
The McDonalds we usually hit up now is touting all breakfast sandwiches all day...muffins, biscuits and mcgriddles.
|
Re: The McDonalds All-Day Breakfast Thread
i know it's not breakfast but has anyone eaten the filet-o-fish sandwich? it's probably the only thing i've never tried from mcdonald's.
i saw it on the 2 for $5 menu and my curiosity almost got the better of me, i got 5 hamburgers instead. |
Re: The McDonalds All-Day Breakfast Thread
Unless you're over 70 stay away from the filet o fish, just gross.

When I was working a few months ago I had to be there at 4 am so I would stop by McDonalds becuase by me in Maryland they are open(drive thru) 24 hours. I would stop but then told we are closed for 30 mins to switch over for breakfast,I would always argue that if you have all day breakfast why the need to switch over?F them ,I stay away if I can. |

i always wondered that too, how hard is it to make one to order? like, i'll wait for it. that's why i love jack in the box out here, you can order anything* at any time and they have it ready faster than mcdonald's. if they can do it w ease, what's mcdonald's problem? *besides their "late night muchies meals", apparently you can only order those between 9pm-5am. but 9pm is my bedtime so i have no problem w that. Re: The McDonalds All-Day Breakfast Thread
Sonic is the same way. Everything all day.
@Giantone: Not sure why a McD's anymore has to "switch over" when they offer just about everything. I imagine you hit up a superlazy McD's... |
Re: The McDonalds All-Day Breakfast Thread
Switching over involves cleaning the grills when they go from breakfast to lunch. Not sure why they would have to close to do it, unless it's a small restaurant with only one grill I guess, or early in the morning it's not uncommon for them to only have one grill going. If they didn't fire up another one in time it could cause a problem. And of course I'm not sure how they do it these days with the all day breakfast.
Source... I worked at McD's as a teenager. |

the first job i had in high school was awesome but the second job i started my senior year, i hated it; cashier at giant. after about 2 weeks i thought about quitting before every single shift. i lasted about 1 year before i finally quit. it was monotonous, mind-numbing, scan and bag scan and bag scan and bag scan and bag scan and bag scan and bag scan and bag scan and bag scan and bag scan and bag scan and bag scan and bag scan and bag scan and bag scan and bag scan and bag. |

But at least you didn't go home smelling like grease, pickles, and onions. |

Re: The McDonalds All-Day Breakfast Thread
I worked at Popeyes for a few years in high school. It was pretty awesome. Near closing time, the cook would drop some fresh chicken or whatever you wanted bc we got to take home what ever was left at closing time.
On a friday or saturday night i would have 5-20 people waiting for me to get off work (10 -11 pm), i would walk out with 30-40 pieces of chicken, biscuits etc and just put on the hood of a car and watch these stoned drunk kids just devour it. |
