Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
Well now that it's over let's look at the future. Tough loss but we weren't going to the SB anyway.
Overall very pleased with the team and Scot M. Guy knows football and knows how to build a winner. Kirk cousins is the real deal and will be paid well. He deserves it after this season, he carried the offense the whole yr. Run game was weak all yr for the most part. Keep building the oline and defense and we are fine. We have playmakers on offense and we r only going to get better. Aaron rodgers didn't win his 1st playoff game either js. Overall httr and good season |
Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
Start by signing our own we want to keep, go heavy on D in the draft, dip into free agency. Would love to see Alex Mack despite what most here say.
|
Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
First order of business, get Kirk signed. I'm guessing somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 years $80M.
|
Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
Yes kirk is priority 1, 5 years Is about right. He's 27 and will have 8 to 10 good Years in him imo. SF mack is good but he may cost more than what we are willing to pay we'll see. I agree though get more defense and oline. Williams and moses are really good well trent is damn near great so now just get the inside locked up.
|
Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
We'll have Junior Gallette back + 7 picks and whoever SM finds in free agency. This team will have a lot more talent next season. Can't wait.

Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
I hope Breeland and Dunbar become our CBs of the future. I hope we can solidify our ILBs. And we need to get the running game going.

Son!! Thank you for a great season!! We will take care of you and come back next year and kick ass!! |
Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
I wouldn't sign Cousins to any extended contract
Sign him to a one year contract, no more than 10 million, with the option to pickup an extended contract if he pans out. He was okay this season, not fantastic, he didn't lead us to any wins over teams with a winning record, all of our wins came off of teams with 8-8 or worse records. He may be a good QB, or he may turn out to be another dud, don't pin too much hopes on him just yet. |

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk[/quote] Good eyes, I thought our ilbs were pretty bad today. I think strong safety is another position on defense we need to solidify. Need to get junior gallete back in the fold. Offense, we should look at improvements at center and a running back. Drafting a WR and TE would be prudent. Adding a young qb would be smart. Cousins contract won't take long...not worried. I look around at the mess and volatility in the nfc east and I see promise if we continue to grow. |

Why don't we sign RGIII to a lifetime contract for hundreds of millions!! C'mon man!! |

I never said sign RG3 to any long term contract, nor am I saying QB's grow on trees All I'm saying is sign him to one year contract, with an option for a longer pickup if he does well next season, this way we don't tie ourselves to yet another QB that may fizzle out (take a look at our QB position over the last few decades, it's been a continuous cycle of expensive failures) |
Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
Cousins isn't going to take a bullshit offer. That's not how any of this works.

Then we move on to a new QB, maybe draft one in the offseason or pickup someone in free agency (or both). Cousins isn't so good that we need to worry about losing him. Besides 1 year at 10 mil is a great deal |

Nope, just the most honest you've seen in a while. That's the problem with Skins mgmt and most Skins fans, they are so quick to jump on a QB bandwagon and throw millions away without actually seeing results first. |

A one year offer would be an insult. Something tells me McCloughan knows his value, and it's not anywhere near 1 yr at $10m, please that's just absurd. Get outta here with that weak shit. |

I'm saying offer hims what he's worth, not more And if he's not willing to accept it, then so be it, he's not so good that we can't afford to lose him. He's not a top tier QB, I'd hesitate before even putting him in tier two. We won't be lost without him. |

Who else do u have??? And incase u haven't noticed, college QBS are not a dime a dozen now a days. |

Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
Hatcher says he is considering retirement .... time for DL help in the first round
|
Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
in fairness to this guy, our QB situation has made many fans not believe in Kirk, but hes the real deal and he puts in the work and study's the game... Nobody ever said RG3 worked on his craft like they all say KC does

I'll go with just plain retarded. |
Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
Cousins isn't going to sign a 1 year 10 million contract when the franchise tag is worth like 17 million. He is either franchised or signed to long term contract. No way he isn't our QB next year and no way he's "only" making 10 million.

I'm just gonna pull a Schneed here, because why not. You sir, are an idiot. Why the hell would he take an insulting offer like that when some desperate franchise would offer him some insane offer. Every single fucking year some backup qb gets signed to a huge deal, or traded good picks for, and yet here you are saying we should take the biggest reason we got this far and tell him one year of above average play isn't worth good money or a long term deal? What reality are you living in? Who have you talked to that reinforces these absurd ideas? Only someone who hates our team would agree with that worthless suggestion. I have to assume you're that guy in every bar, or chat room, or forum, or workplace, that everyone rolls their eyes at and says,"why do we even bother listening to this asshat?" |
Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
do we sign DJAX? And how long? I say we do for another 4 years

Djax is still under contract, correct? No need to extend him this off-season imo.
|
Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
O ok cool I thought he was a FA after this yr..
|
Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
Just saw Jay's Presser and I'm impressed with him, at first he seemed lost but hes a good coach and the players love him. If we can stay healthy next yr, look out
|
Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
I'm going to miss watching the Skins next week. Screw you Green Bay. Cardinals, kick their asses again.
|
Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
Holy shit this guy. Lifetime ban for being an idiot?
Finished the season sixth in QBR, threw for more yards than any QB in team history, and in a league with a dearth of talent at the QB position, you say he's only worth one year ten million? Shit, Sam Bradford will get three years 40 million at least. |
Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
Need to spend alot of time on defense this offseason, and not feed trolls:)

Yes. O-line, D-line and secondary all draft long. |
