Around the NFL: Offseason edition 2.0
Feels like a ripe time to start a new thread even though it's going to be pretty quiet from now until TC starts. Here's a topic starter:
The Puzzling Plummet of RGIII — The Undefeated Figured I'd post it just in case your Snyder-hate levels have cooled off since the addition of McC and other wiser heads. If the article is true (and I don't see much reason why it couldn't be) there's a lot of good backstory in there about RG3's days at Redskins Park. Personally I don't care much about him now that he's a Brown, I wish him success and also wish it had worked out but I like where we're at now with Captain Kirk so I don't wish him ill will. |
Re: Around the NFL: Offseason edition 2.0
Jason Reid....getting in one more shot. His hate of RG3 is well known.
"Griffin ignored a lot of advice" "McNabb had hoped to warn Griffin to keep his guard up. However, after multiple attempts to contact Griffin failed, McNabb figured Griffin had no interest in what he had to offer" Reid blowing McNabbs dick |

Re: Around the NFL: Offseason edition 2.0
Griffin is in the honeymoon phase right now in Cleveland. If he's lucky to start any games he'll be exposed once the rush is coming at him. Jackson and Griffin are not going to get along at all. Just watching Jackson's no nonsense attitude on Hard Knocks, that is going to turn out to be a disaster. The rookie from USC will be starting by the end of the year.
As far as the article, all that shit happened. |

Re: Around the NFL: Offseason edition 2.0
People need to get over RG3. I don't care what he does in another team. If he succeeds, fine; if he doesn't, oh well. It sickens me to hear the local media talk about him. Shit, we have a good team and lots of relevant stuff to talk about.

Then don't read articles about him, some folks are still interested. |

What local media is still talking about him? The article I posted is from an ESPN affiliate. |

ESPN980 was talking about this article this morning. I will say that they are doing a better job at it, but when RG3 went to Cleveland, they were all over it. |
Re: Around the NFL: Offseason edition 2.0
"RG3" is just another bullshit topic Skins fan and media have to talk about during the offseason. add to the list of:
"Official Offseason Bullshit" 1. Dan Snyder bullshit 2. Redskins name bullshit 3. Vinny bullshit 4. Albert Haynesworth bullshit 5. RG3 bullshit 6. Not ever happening "trades" bullshit |

Re: Around the NFL: Offseason edition 2.0
I hate it too but the reality is we're tied to RG3 for good. If he succeeds we'll have to hear about it, and likewise if he fails we'll hear about it. Until he retires his story is a work in progress.

Really great article, thanks for sharing. I love a good tale of post NFL career success, it sure beats the typical "awesome player goes broke after retirement" story. |
Re: Around the NFL: Offseason edition 2.0
Jesus, why does pft have another effing headline article about shanny and rg3? Dude this is insane. Florio get a life

Re: Around the NFL: Offseason edition 2.0
RG3 is still news. It's still more interesting than rookie mini camp.
|
Re: Around the NFL: Offseason edition 2.0
Man has there been a more overhyped rookie rb than Elliott??? Holy crap it's getting old

Yeah. It's too bad for him that he'll have to play a regular season game and ruin all the excitement he's created. |

So true. Even if he was a good QB he would have difficulty showcasing his talents in a place like Cleveland. They just have too many holes. If I was Hue Jackson I'd be drilling it into his head. Patience, Patience, Patience. That ship is not going to be righted over night. He single handedly is not going to save that team, even though it looked like that's what he did for us in 2012. |

He's getting a lot of hype but it's deserved. He had some ridiculous production at Ohio State. Now he gets to run behind one of the best lines in the league. As long as Romo stays upright, I think he may win ROY. |

He may be a talented player, but people are pretty much giving the NFC East to the Cowpukes, even though Romo is a good hit to the shoulder away from being out again. |

I would rather read a thousand stories from the rookie minicamp, than hearing sour grapes like Jason Reid bring up shit from the past or hear another RG3 story being discussed as though it is relevant to the team. |

Not only that, he's no AP. I think best case scenario for the Cowboys is they get the 2012 (?) Murray year. They needed defensive help and they didn't get it. |

NFL trying to protect their own interests? Color me shocked. Also screw them for making taxpayers foot the bill after they tried to get their guys the grant.

Good article by Ravens tackle Eugene Monroe about letting NFL players use medical marijuana for its' benefits. I'm definitely on the train that weed is less dangerous than opoids.

Not going to hijack this thread, but will just say this about weed: it needs to get legalized all over soon. Professors in the place I work routinely are like, "Man, I hate feeling like a dirtbag because it's illegal, but I TRULY enjoy it. Feel safer, am a kinder, better person on it."

If you're a "kinder, better person" because you smoke weed, if you somehow believe that, you have serious issues. |
