Gotta agree with Keim...disappointing to say the least. Bottomline, Skins should have gone Dline or Safety higher. Should have never never traded out of the 4th for what they got. |
Re: Skins vs Carolina Pre Game
I'm looking at a lot of mock drafts and if we don't go freaking corner (which a ton project us to go) there are a couple of great safety options available. Unfortunately the DT class doesn't look as rich as it was last year, but we should be able to get some really strong ILB/S help where we should pick.

Re: Skins vs Carolina Pre Game
This defense is so bad right now Beast mode Rugby Kid would go for a hundred on us. But maybe we get another key turnover and Kirk has a great day, I'll say Skins 31, Panthers 28
|
Re: Skins vs Carolina Pre Game
This is exactly what I would say, watch out for all these guys, especially Olsen since TE's have given the Redskins fits. Don't underestimate Carolina's losing record.

Re: Skins vs Carolina Pre Game
I am all about making the playoffs but if we go with this team its gone be one and done. I honestly rather have the higher draft pic and a easier schedule next year when we could make some real noise in the playoffs.
23-20 Cats. |
Re: Skins vs Carolina Pre Game
Cant wait to see how Norman handles this one.
I hope he doesn't get too jacked up. Sometimes he can be a penalty machine. |

23-20 Cats.
Really? If we get in and go one and done how much higher of a draft pick or how much easier will our schedule be? No way. Being a playoff team is what it is all about. Only way to win a championship. Plus if we get in and have to play Detroit you give us no shot? We played them in Detroit and were seconds from winning? Plus schedule strength changes. Injuries happen. Teams take shits. Before this year started which was a tougher game Detroit or Green Bay? |

So much so that you would forego the chance to move up a few spots in the draft? |
Re: Skins vs Carolina Pre Game
Carolina ranks 30th in passing defense. I say KC has a big day and everyone jumps back on the bandwagon.
Their offense ranks just near the eagles, I really hope our D comes out fired up, I'm tired of seeing them play lazy, I feel like we have one of the worst pursuit in the league, that's inexcusable. |

Kitty cats 13
I think we get the blowout this weekend. Carolina secondary is just terrible and I think this is the game Josh Norman has circled...not the Giants, Cowboys, etc. This is his game...he's gonna be all over the field. I think we crush them and all the fans are like Ozzy says "flying high again"...of course I think Ozzy was referring to something else.... |
Re: Skins vs Carolina Pre Game
It would be nice to have another 42 point game. Just don't see that happening because they're going to keep our offense off the field. We are going to have trouble dealing with Cam and Olsen.
|
Re: Skins vs Carolina Pre Game
This game makes me more nervous than the Giants (and certainly Chicago). It has the feel of the Cardinals game -- team that has underachieved this season but still has weapons that could really hurt us, and playing for pride. I think we have to hope that the Panthers who got completed owned by Seattle show up this weekend. Not having Cravens (which I suspect will be the case) to spy Cam hurts, as would the loss of Compton in the middle if he isn't back (which again seems likely). I hope we can get Blackmon back at least.

Yeah he was referring to one fan in particular- you! LOL |
Re: Skins vs Carolina Pre Game
It's hard to picture this being a blowout either way. It's going to be another close game, probably 6-7 points determines the winner. I think the Redskins pull it off by winning the turnover battle and running the ball well. Look for Fat Rob to have a big day.

Re: Skins vs Carolina Pre Game
Kirk is a must start this wk in FF.. He's going to have 300 yards and at least 2 TDs. Skins are hungry and motivated after that win sunday.. Plus eventually we will win again on MNF. Car will keep it close but we win 28-24.

Anybody curious to know who is the toughest offensive tackle that Von Miller has ever faced? Silverback getting some love here.

The 5 Toughest Guys I’ve Ever Faced | The Players' Tribune
LOVE IT: Toughest Offensive Tackle: Trent Williams The four-time Pro Bowler. The classic Beast. Trent has all the physical tools. But what separates him is that he’s also the most mentally tough guy I’ve ever seen. He has that swag about him that makes him almost more like a defensive player. He loves talking to you. Usually it’s just the defensive guys talking — “I’m on your ass all day, bruh!” But Trent has that defensive mentality on the other side of the ball. Some tackles, they just want to not get beat, but Trent is always in attack mode. The battle at the line of scrimmage is like a 12-round boxing fight. He’s going to get some punches in, and I’m going to get some punches in. What makes a great offensive lineman is the ability to take a shot on the chin and get right back up and not be rattled. If Trent gets beat, he knows it’s part of the game. He doesn’t get passive — he’s right back on your ass the next play. His mind-set is like, “You beat me? Alright, you got lucky on that play. Let’s go.” That’s the confidence you need to be great over four quarters. He’s the toughest guy on the field every single play. |

fuck ya he is...just don't pass him the bong, please
Chico deserves the credit for posting this first, my b yo. I have softened up on T.Will since his suspension broke, if it's true they failed him because he was in London and they couldn't get him a tester then I am fine with blaming the NFL for that one. |
Re: Skins vs Carolina Pre Game
I think like all of our remaining games, this one is going to be hard. Stating the obvious i know, but our defense is going to have to be at least average and not let them hang 35 - 40 points on us. As others have pointed out it is going to be a very close game, likely coming down to the final possession.
We will need to be turnover free and run the ball very well. Settling for field goals even when Hopkins can make them, isn't going to win the day. But Kirk and the offense should have a big day. 300 + Yards, probably 3 TD's passing. Redskins: 34 Panthers: 31 |
Re: Skins vs Carolina Pre Game
I'm a broken record about our defense,Our defense sucks so bad,and both Compton and Cravens probably miss this game,I don't think we can stop Cam.I dont think this team has ever stopped him,going by memory seems like he always plays really well against us.{only 5 td passes last yr}
Cousins is going to have to bring his A game I believe for us to win{that means no pick 6 Kirk:mad:} |

I agree. I think the defense has been playing so tight since the Detroit game. That last drive seemed to shake their confidence a lot. I'm hoping after the eagles game and the big stop maybe they gain a little bit of that confidence back |

Speight and Compton are basically the same. Losing cravens would suck

And our secondary is stellar? Josh can't cover Olsen and his guy at the same time. |
Re: Skins vs Carolina Pre Game
I can envision a win, but expecting a blowout is comical. These guys destroyed us last time. Our
D has to play lights out for 3 games for us to make the big dance. If they don't the guys will be playing golf in January. |

Detroit has a solid, consistent defense, while ours isn't. They shut us down for 3 quarters. I know if Mr. Fumblitis didn't do his thing near the goal line we would have won, but that Lion's defense is consistent and dependable. I don't think we can say the same about our defense. |
Re: Skins vs Carolina Pre Game
We will lose this game. Then win final two is my guess. Will get in playoffs if the cards lay out right
|
Re: Skins vs Carolina Pre Game
This is going to be the toughest of the Skins remaining games since the D struggles with running QBs. That said I think the O steps up and scores the required 30 point minimum needed to win any game.

My point is that the Detroit Lions are the choking dogs of NFL playoff football. Of course we would beat them in the playoffs. |

Carolina is going to be pissed, super pissed, hope we can match their level of pissiness. It's a code red super pissed off baller Cam and Olsen trap game no doubt.

So it was Preston Smith on that play? No surprise. WTF is he even on the field at this point? Trent Murphy should be getting all his playing time. |
Re: Skins vs Carolina Pre Game
Thought in Breland situation above, if two guys are uncovered, you are
supposed to cover the deep man (Sproles in this case) |
So it was Preston Smith on that play? No surprise. WTF is he even on the field at this point? Trent Murphy should be getting all his playing time.
For the sake of argument only, let's assume that Smith had tried to pick up the man he was assigned on that play. Well, he's too slow and not quick enough to cover anybody anyway. I said it in another thread and I'll say it again here: the only hope we have of getting any value out of Smith is to have him gain weight and play DE. He's just too slow to play OLB. That was a terrible 2nd Round pick. On Smith's college tape, it was crystal clear that he lacked quickness and now we know he's just plain slow. That wasted pick is on Scot M. Scot needs to start appreciating speed and quickness a lot more than he seems to now. Also, I can't think of an NFL team that doesn't have ILB's and saftey's who are faster and quicker than the ones we have. Our ILB's can't cover TE's because they're too slow. Our saftey's can't help the CB's because they're too slow. It really doesn't matter whether or not a player knows the playbook or is a good citizen or is nice to his mother if he can't get to where he needs to be to make a play. I'm as sick and tired of our slow-ass ILB's and saftey's, as I am with Smith. We desperately need more speed on defense. Scot needs to find us some people at those positions who can run. |
