Post game
Can we please please not be on MNF anymore??? Please???
Whole team laid an egg, very discouraged in the effort. From kickoff it looked like we didn't care and that's very unusual for jay and co. Yes we can still make the playoffs but even if we did we are 1 and done against Atlanta so it really doesn't matter much. Kirk= played just as bad as week 1 Oline = same as kirk Wrs = djax played well that's it. Reed wtf man??? If u aren't going to play at all don't do shit like that. Defense???? What defense??? All we have is Norman and RK, everyone else is a journeyman type player in their future. Overall it's a new day and all we can do as fans is sit and watch it unfold. Move on to chicago (I'll be there) let's hope they don't play like this. |
Re: Post game
Well that's it, playoffs will be a miracle at this point.

Yeah like I said it really wouldn't matter at this point. We'll wee how it works out. Tampa still has at NO and then Carolina left could lose both. GB will play Detroit who will lose to Dallas Sunday. It's possible |
Re: Post game
Very frustrating, Skins were never in that game like they could have cared less if they won or lost.
I am kind of just over the Skins honestly. Its always this one step forward two steps back BS with them as a franchise. |
Re: Post game
Positives:
-Defense. I'm sorry but they only allowed one TD on a blown coverage by Whitner (second one Carolina got the ball on the 1 yard line). Yes they gave up yards but they made some key stops. Couldn’t ask for more from these guys. Considering how bad the offense played, leaving this D on the field an awful lot of time, I say this D made more than what could've been excepted from them. -Mason Foster. He continues to impress me. Solid tackler, good blitzer, not bad coverage guy. Made some plays in the backfield. -DeSean Jackson… Made some great catches. Sure you don’t want him around next year? Negatives: -Dropped passes. -Vernon Davis… Drops, lame block leading to a fumble and eventually a TD… You’re better than that man. -Whitner. I’m done with him. -Running game. -Offense. |

Overall I think we always drink the koolaid too much around here. We can still make the playoffs sadly enough. |
Re: Post game
Also what's up with gruden hating on us all the time? He hasn't said one thing about the skins all season that is positive. Last night before the game he was like "this skins team is going to get gashed tonight " he never says that about others before the game. Seems like he is a little salty at the organization or something.

Re: Post game
Sean McVay really got some fans under his spell...I haven't bought it since day 1. He was worse than Cousins last night. This guy is way overrated.
And rightfully bitch about Barry (who shouldn't have been hired in the first place) but he has half the talent that McVay does on his side of the ball and does more with it period. |
Re: Post game
I don't know what to think after this game. I can't be rational about it. It's like every positive thing I thought was true about this team is false.

Re: Post game
Well that's it, playoffs will be a miracle at this point.
I think the Bucs lose at least one to the Saints or Panthers. I think GreenBay loses at Detroit. That game will still mean something to Detroit. Skins win out because the Bears are worse than us, and Gints will rest. So we totally back into the playoffs. As for last night there was just nothing positive at all. I lost faith in every aspect of our game. In the course of three hours I went from rooting for a team who is a few pieces away from being a true contender to rooting for a team full of holes, with no depth and piss poor coaching. Ugh. |
Re: Post game
What the fuck was Reed doing dancing around boxing? That was one of the stupidest things I have ever seen. Straight up head case, and that kind of shit makes it real hard to look past the constant injuries. May need to add tight end to the list of holes.

Our offense has to score 28 a game to even have a chance every week. If it wasn't for kirk we would be 4-12 this yr. He's been our best player not even close. Trent usually is but he was gone 4 weeks. Reed has weeks where he can't even play because he's always hurt. |
Re: Post game
Googled but couldn't find late hit on Newton by Murphy. Anyone got a link?
Smh at Reed getting justifiably tossed. But panthers #20 getting away with the first head slap and other panthers not penalized for taunting that incident. Reed should've let go of #20 when the play was over, but as usual it's the second person that throw a blow that gets called. |

That's the main problem, the fact that we care enough to drink the koolaid. This team is infested with bums. Scott can take his football guy crap and shove it where the sun don't shine!!!! All his football guys either are no longer on the team, are oft injured, or just plain suck!!! Get the best available at the targeted position man. Those are the real football guys!!!!! |

Yeah that was pretty fuck'd up... But how much of it was caused by the injury, by him playing through a tremendous amount of pain? I mean I saw a wounded animal out there. Wounded animals do stupid shit. Also he did that right after the defender (rightfully) slammed his arms to get rid of his block, that must have caused some pain. |

Re: Post game
Joe Barry. Fucking Joe Barry. Can't make any positive impact on the team whatsoever.
There's not a single guy playing better than his talent level. Get him the fuck out. I can't believe he was our D Coordinator choice. The resume was shit. I think Gruden will cut him loose, but in the unlikely circumstance that he doesn't, I think the organization has to force him to. |

That should've been a flag. But he went sliding late, leaving few time to Murphy to pull out from the hit.
That does not matter. A Qb gets hit in the head, sliding or in the pocket, its a penalty. The only reason Newton did not get the flag was the referee turned just in time to see Cam hit the defender with the ball. That was a justified penalty too. Any other Sunday, that hit draws a flag. |

We agree on this, that should've been a flag. |
Re: Post game
Beat Chicago and everyone will be singing a different tune next week. Sometimes you just get your butt kicked. Carolina is having a down year but they were a bad matchup for us. We can't stop the run and Cam made enough plays down the field.

Agreed. Frustrating game. But let's not forget how far we come from. |
Re: Post game
The Redskins Last night lose to the Browns! We are 100% not close to a playoff team and would be double digit underdogs in any playoff game ..ATLANTA would beat us by 24 points. By far the worst D in NFL and maybe the worst DB crew in history of Redskins..think about this unit without Norman ..and we draft Another WR with number 1 pick! and waste another on Matt Jones..looks like a bust with Smith and folks praise SM?? epic FAIL at draft..We have maybe 4 guys on The D that I would keep ..Norman,Kerrigan,Baker,Cravens..the rest are at best SO-SO. so i got idea..lets draft Another WR with our Number 1 pick..BRILLIANT!!!

Fuck him. He cost the team. Shut him down the rest of the year. He shouldn't be out there. He's about as useful as a pair of saggy tits. I'd probably add TE to the list because Reed's body isn't built for football. He is always going to have some kind of issue going on. |

Football is all about match up especially in the NFL, we were getting ran over and over by them last night, same thing would happen against Atlanta and did twice against Dallas. Our run d is atrocious, historically bad IMO. Also we suck playing teams with nothing to lose we always have. |

We allowed him about a yard and a half more per run than his average this year. On average that is a lot. He had not broken 100 yards yet this season but last night ran for 132 and looked like Earl Campbell. How many backs have had their best games against the Skins over the last couple years? Seems like every single one. I know Doctson might turn out to be a stud, but was he such a cant miss that we ignored literally the most gaping hole on our team to snatch him up for this year in what was being hailed an ultra deep draft for d line??? When we already have a slew of good wide receivers? |

Re: Post game
On Reed -- Yes, he made a dumb penalty and you have to be aware of the circumstances.
In his defense, however, watch the entire replay. ... After the play is dead, the Carolina player is still going after Reed. Specifically, he is yanking and tugging on Reed's injured arm/shoulder and then, as Reed finally pulls away, the Carolina player lands a shot to Reed's head. A second later a Panthers player pulls his teammate away and, as he is doing so, Reed retaliates. Had another Skins' player pulled Reed back, no penalty ... but b/c he had kept his cool UNTIL the retaliation, no real need to do so. Yes. You need to be smarter and realize it's the retaliation that always gets penalized. At the same time, it really looked to me like the Panthers' player was intentionally trying to aggravate Reed's already-painful injury and then topped it off with a cheap shot to Reed's head. Not sure many of us would keep our cool in those circumstances. |
Re: Post game
Reed should not be on the field. He can't block, he can barely catch, it's not a tough guy contest. He hurts the team when he is obviously injured to the point where he's useless. Shut him down before he hurts himself and the team even more. To me that is piss poor coaching.
And please SM, draft a complete TE that is durable. |
Re: Post game
Keeping Reed on the field when he was injured was a coaching mistake. It reminded me of RG3 against Seattle in 2012 wildcard game. I was watching him limp around and asking myself how the hell do the coaches not pull him out? Well, keeping him in there was what led to the penalty and ejection.

And he was doing so to get free from Reed who kept holding him after the play was over. The shot to Reed's head is completely unintentional, he turns around quickly, again to free himself from Reed's hold. That's entirely on Reed. But I'm not mad at him, I feel like he shouldn't have been in the game in the first place. He was obviously playing through a tremendous amount of pain. Hats off to him for doing so and wanting to do so, but coaching and medical staff should have kept him out of the game. You cannot play smart when under such pain. |
Re: Post game
Not a fan of Barry but last night was obviously a lack of talent issue. Our guys on defense just aren't good enough.
No excuses for Kirk and co. They were dog shit last night. This is a good offense but a soft offense. When you can't run the ball at all what does that say? When all you can do is throw horizontal passes what does that say? |

I won't be singing a different tune. I'm slow to anger but now I'm really pissed off and likely to stay that way. We continually come out flat and lose so-called "must win" games. That is on Jay Gruden, IMO, and I don't envision that changing as long as he is here. I like continuity, but not with the wrong HC. I'm just about done with Gruden. McVay's play-calling is as predictable as the direction in which the sun will come up each morning. He also sucks out loud in the Red Zone. There will be much better DC's available than Joe Barry this off-season and we should take advantage of that to hire one of them. WTF happened to Perry Fewell? The DB's don't seem to have a clue about how to play their positions. The players should be ashamed of the way they played last night. They were manhandled on both sides of the ball. They all looked like a big bunch of pussies! It was pathetic! Once again, Kirk Cousins fizzled out on a big stage. I'm starting to really hate the idea of paying him the Big Bucks - and I've supported him. So what if we beat the Bears on Saturday? We're supposed to beat them. That's no big deal to me. But what does it say about our team if we lose to them? |

Idk... the runs he called were getting stuffed. There was literally not one hole for Kelly to run through. So not sure I can blame him for the lack of a run game last night. That was our oline basically getting overpowered. |
