Around the NFL (Preseason edition)

Now that the PS has started around the league, lets chat on some of the other issues besides our skins.

Six games for Ezekiel Elliott? – ProFootballTalk

I dont see Zeke suspended for 6 games but if that really is the case WHOA! Dallas would be in some serious trouble W/O it's best offensive weapon. Honestly he needs to be suspended atleast 2 games due to his behavior recently.. Dude is a punk ass.

Mitch Trubisky is the talk of the NFL this morning, I always love the overreaction to these players after 1 scrimmage game.

Re: Around the NFL (Preseason edition)

That's a huge blow to that team. He made them that good on offense last yr. Now for the first 6 weeks Dak will have to take the team on his back and we'll find out if he's really that good or if he was covered by a OL/RB threat that terrified the nfl.

skinsfaninok 08-11-2017 12:38 PM

Re: Around the NFL (Preseason edition)

I would be surprised if they started better than 2-4

Re: Around the NFL (Preseason edition)

Think about this fellas...Read the documents from the Greg Hardy trial.

This is the type of organization that gives this Greg Hardy a job and their owner calls Hardy a "leader"

Think about it.

Jerry doesn't think honestly anything is wrong with domestic violence. Its ok with him.

Two big f*cking trades:
1:
Roster Move: #Eagles acquire CB Ronald Darby from Buffalo in exchange for WR Jordan Matthews and a 2018 3rd-round pick.

2:
Rams get: WR Sammy Watkins and 2018 6th round pick

Bills get: CB E.J. Gaines and 2018 2nd round pick

holy shit!

That is unusual for the NFL, NBA type trade but honestly all of these players are just avg guys. Sammy cant play more than 4 games a yr and Matthews just never stayed consistent.

Re: Around the NFL (Preseason edition)

Bills stacking a couple of nice picks and getting rid of the drama which is Sammy Watkins...a diva bust.

I like this for the Bills because it gets the rebuild process going early. If your in the Pats division the plan is to get the team ready for Brady departure in the next several years. You aint beating the Pats in the division this year or next year. They are the most stacked that they've every been.

I hope not. You can't have the same punishment for inflating a football and abusing a women. That's laughable to me.

The way they handle ray rice was the absolute low point for the league...2 games for knocking out a woman. The shield got crushed across the country...can't look soft facing domestic violence issues

It was, although I'm still upset the that public didn't give the Ravens any crap for the way they handled the Rice issue.

I hope the public goes after Jerry and the Cowpukes for continuing to sign pieces of crap like Hardy and Elliott.

Re: Around the NFL (Preseason edition)

Isn't there something in the league rules that allow a team to be penalized if it continues to bring in players with bad conduct? How is that not applied to the Cowboys?

Yup that and after the Giant debacle from last year with the kicker Brown, there should be no reduction.

In the perfect world you're right but we all know the NFL always plays to their own agenda. They've lacked consistency in punishments for years. How is Josh Brown gonna get 1 game but Zeke 6? It's because Zeke is a bigger name for the league. Even though what Brown did was arguably just as bad.

Also I hate to play devils advocate but I keep seeing differing reports, one says the girl made the shit up and that's why charges were dropped and the other says the league has found 3 separate incidents that Zeke tried to cover up. So I have no idea what to believe, but I assume the truth will come out in time. Doesn't matter much to me anyways, IIRC we play the Cowboys in Zeke's game back, so we don't gain much from this.

Good point...me neither. But if the reports are true and there is physical evidence...bro, it's disturbing.

But the other side that is equally disturbing is Jerry jones and his constant denial and defense of complete pieces of shit. It really sux...that this organization has developed this attitude. I guess the fan of the cowboys just don't care. You rarely hear criticism

Re: Around the NFL (Preseason edition)

i thought 6 games was bad for a 1st time offense, but it could also be the league sending the whole cowboy organization a message to run a better and tighter team.they have heard more players suspended and fined than more team in the league the last 30 years since the league created these things.i dont see jerry messiah fighting this like kraft did in new england.

Idk that they need a conference call, I'm pretty sure they all came to the conclusion that signing Kaep might hurt their bottom line, which is profits. If you ask every owner they will all say the goal is hoisting the Lombardi, but let's be real here. The majority of teams know there isn't a shot in hell of going deep in the playoffs, so the goal is to have a good season where they make plenty of money. Kaep might affect that, if fans protest and boycott the team because of his actions. Sucks for Kaep but that's the price he has to pay for fighting for people's rights.

I say 8 game minimum for a first offense regarding domestic abuse, 2nd offense 16 games, 3rd offense indefinite suspension.

No , they know better.Kaepernick isn't all that good. The man tried to get some adverse attention thinking it would help him ,it didn't.If I own a team let someone else have the headache.....he isn't Tom Brady or Peyton Manning,he is not worth the bad press or heat from existing fan base.

Isn't all that good? Yes, I agree. Good enough to be a backup qb, better than some of the other garbage backups that have been signed/resigned? Yes.

I find it hard to believe that CK wouldn't be on a team right now if it weren't for the whole not standing for the anthem thing. He's definitely being blackballed IMO.

I def think coaches don't want to answer kap questions all season long and orgs don't want that type of distraction from a guy who is a backup qb/fringe starter in the league.

And you know who I blame for a lot of this. Not kap, not the police, not trump or obama, but the

Teams can't have a major distraction like manziel, kap or tebow qb. Can't fall into that "kap trap"

Of course he is!!!!!!!! NFL viewership went to hell over that, costing the league countless millions. ESPN took a major dive with giving the guy a major platform that pissed off the "deplorables" as well. Giantone pretty much nailed it! Colin used the BLM thing as a distraction that he was really playing poorly and tried to play upon sympathy for what he was doing. He miscalculated the people's response and got nailed. The NFL is a member of corporate America and will not stand one iota for its profits to plunge due to one person. ESPN is still reeling from trying to mix politics and sports. People watch sports as an escape from politics, and don't want that to be tainted by politics. The NFL has picked up on this, and won't let this happen again.
