My prediction, we win 13 to 10, messy game but we come out on top.

Think its gonna be sloppy early Skins grab late lead to hold on 20 - 16

1. One thing Im gonna be focused on is how we start, cant give Philly confidence early.

2. Then Ill be watching the D-Line and O-Line play...good test. Philly lines are what I would consider above average and that's where Id say we are as well with our Oline slightly stronger. LOS battle should be good.

3. I want to see how our new D-Coordinators attack the offense. Im expecting much better play and game planning

4. How committed are we to the run? Jay said we will run more...prove it. IMO Cousins seems to be a much better play action QB (Shanny style) than a empty set, spread 4-5 and throw it (McVay). So running it should really help the offense over all.

5. Make Philly one dimensional. Their running attack isn't great...lets put this on the young QB.

Ditto. Gruden has not won an opening season game in his time coaching the team, and the last time the Redskins won the opener was in 2012. I think breaking that streak against a division rival would give the team a big boost to start the season.

30-17 eagles.

Offensively, I think the Skins passing will be out of sync, run game will be inconsistent.
Defensively, Blount batters the D line and Wentz does enough to avoid sacks and make plays.

I think the Eagles and Giants will have top 10 defenses this year.

The Skins really need to start the season strong because if they lose the first few games I think things unravel with this team. I have no idea what to expect from this team but I think they pull this game out.

I have it pretty high scoring. Eagles secondary is a goddamn mess and until I see us improve the defense I can't buy into it.

I think it's a coin flip game, we come out on top because it's a home game.

I don't get why the Eagles are getting so much respect. Even the oddsmakers have the game as a pick, so they're basically saying the Eagles are better. Maybe they know something I don't.

Me too. I don't read it as anybody saying that the idea that the Redskins can win is crazy.

And yes guys, the oddsmakers have us as the worst team in the division. Our over/under number is 7.5. It's 8.5 for the Eagles. Vegas views Philly as the ever so slightly better team.

When the line was published initially, we were favorites by 1.5. Now a lot of money has come in on the Eagles so the line has moved to pick em.

It is a coin flip game.

Nobody is saying there's no hope, or that it's a crazy notion that we could win. I think we'll win a hard fought battle, myself.

It's not like we're favored by 9 and fans are picking the Eagles here. It's a pick em.

Its a toss up for me, 50/50 .. I just think the offense could come out rusty, timing off on timing routes.

Probably going to come down to what happens on the last possession for the losing team.

Any trick plays w Pryor tossing one? A la portis or Antwan?

I mean on one hand, you have the Redskins 5 game winning streak against the Eagles. On the other hand, I don't think the Redskins have won a season opener under Gruden. One or the other has to end. I hope it's the season opener streak, but based off past season openers I'd give 60/40 odds to the Eagles.

Lol yea, its a gut feeling and given where i live.... i WOULD have to suffer through a week 1 loss in an eagles bar dealing with ass hats masquerading as football fans.... my gut feeling says the Defense wont cover Jeffrey, and they will run on us.... it also says that the loss of our WRs will take time to recover from... if we crush Wentz early and often maybe we have a shot.... but I just havent seen enough out of this team yet to feel confident. The skins havr conditioned most of us for heartbreak.... i dont really expect much different this week but i really, really hope I'm wrong.

I typically get a good indication of how the Skins will look offensively and defensively (with the understanding it's JUST preseason), but honestly I don't know what to expect. I think this week we'll have a hard time running the ball against the Eagles front.

I think Philly will live and die by Wentz. If he doesn't show any improvement or we DO defensively (which I think our run defense has improved along with our LBs) I think the Eagles will have a hard time. They keep writing about Torrey Smith like he's some savior. Let's be real, his best years are behind him. He MIGHT do what Wentz does best, but I'm not scared of him. I was more worried about Jordan Matthews.

If we win, it's a close one 20-17.

This game is up for grabs. Gruden has not won a season opener since he's been here. I think the offense starts slow but gets in gear by the fourth quarter.

I just want the defense to show up and dominate.

I'm more worried about Alshon Jeffery to be honest. Norman didn't exactly shut him down last year and now he's playing with a competent qb. Torrey Smith might make a few plays but he's never been a consistent playmaker.
