Around the NFL Week 4

For the love of god, how in the hell did Glennon get 45 million? And why would you turnaround and draft Trubisky second overall?

Re: Around the NFL Week 4

To me trading up for Trubisky after paying Glennon tells me somebody wasn't satisfied. Not sure who it is but someone in the Bears FO disagreed with whoever brought in Glennon.

Glennon's deal is really for one year. They might as well put in the rookie.

The Bears are a horrible mess. Pitt will look back on that loss as one of their worst of this season.

They should have saved their money and put it towards a TE, WR, or pass rusher.

Bears are bad either way, they have 2 guys on offense and both are RBs

Just start Trubisky already, Glennon is terrible

So that hit last night...whoa. Crown down right in Adams face.

I think you have to suspend Trevathen a couple games. Dude was out cold.

I really hope goodell addresses this today and not waffle around. That hit deserves a suspension and he needs to put the hammer down now.

I would like to hear what JR thinks about it from a legal view? Yes I think the Police had a legit reason to detain him.

I don't, maybe I am wrong but in order to detain someone don't you need reasonable articulate suspicion that they have commited, about to commit, or are in the process of commiting a crime?

Yeah but I kinda see the cops point, when they are just arriving on scene, everything is mass chaos and people are bailing left and right, it makes sense to tell everyone to hit the deck so you can sort it out one by one later. If one guy ignores the command while everyone else complies, of course you're gonna keep that guy on scene until he can be cleared later. But they don't have time to clear him while the shooter might still be on the scene, so he gets detained until later.

Sucks for Bennett because he was obviously freaked out, but you ignore police commands in an already chaotic situation where they are trying to sort it out, well that's what happens. As soon as they confirmed he was clear they released him. Did the one cop have to put his gun to his head? Maybe not, but again, active shooter. Of course they're going in guns ready. I think detaining the crowd at an active shooter situation is standard protocol anywhere, you have to clear them to make sure the gunman/men doesn't try to sneak out.

Yeah the Michael Bennett situation always seemed like it wasn't police brutality or profiling... he wanted to help the cause but may have hurt it.

I understand that but why is it in these situations the body cam is always off? And if you already have the guy detained why then say you will blow his brains out if he moves?

That's my big problem...the body cam has been extremely effective when in use. The fact he had it off is a situation where he should be disciplined.

Bennett is highly emotional person who wants to be a flag bearer...I personally don't think anything the cop would have done would have been good enough for him. I would not put it past him to antagonize the police in this situation.

Context matters, this was an active shooter situation? This situation would have been highly charged for both the police and the patrons. This is the statement by the police: "As they moved toward the nightclub, an individual later identified as Bennett was seen crouched down behind a gaming machine as the officers approached," McMahill sald. "Once Bennett was in the officer's view, he quickly ran out the south doors, jumped over a wall onto Flamingo Road East of Las Vegas Boulevard into traffic." Ok if this is the case in an active shooter situation this is extremely suspicious, is it not? Why would he do this, is he simply retarded or high?

When I was twenty I was pulled out of a car with 2 others and was threatened 3 or 4 times that I would be shot if I attempted to run. It was extremely aggressive threat which gun was drawn based most likely on my appearance and the 2'others I was with were never threatened at all. It's simply never bothered me and had a great night.

Well the body cam issue is clear to me, he probably kept it off intentionally so there wouldn't be footage if he did something questionable. Definitely should face discipline on that one.

At least in Maryland there are very specific guidelines that have to be followed as to when they are turned on and off. It's a balance of induvidual privacy and public right to know. If nevada has similar rules amd he violated them he should be punished but if not the LVPD needs to state that the cameras were used as required.

Re: Around the NFL Week 4

Turning off your body cam is like when a CB throws his hands up in the air to say they didn't do anything wrong. It immediately makes you seem guilty of something.

Yeah I don't get why a team would give up picks, move up to get a guy then not play him. Tribisky actually was solid in pre season. No reason to be playing Glennon. Especially when Kizer and Watson are playing. Bears are a mess.

As a football fan this is a great week. As a pickem player who loses 90 bucks a year on this shit, fuck this noise. Picked Pats over Panthers, Ravens over Pitt (no idea what I was thinking on that one), Browns over Bengals (I thought Cincy sucked this year and rivalry games are always toss 'em ups) and Cowboys over Rams. Also picked the Redskins over the Chiefs (you always need 1 upset to distance yourself and I'm sipping the Kool-aid).

Chargers just don't have any players that can make a big play in a 4th quarter. All of their losses are by 1 possession. Ugghhhhh. Eagles 3-1.

Gotta give credit to Boy Wonder. I wasn't sure how it would work out with him being so young. But he obviously belongs and being a HC isn't too big for him.

Also how about Deshawn Watson? My goodness that kid is just a winner.

Giants, 0-4, wow. Predicting the NFCE each year is a futile endeavor. Thought they'd come in 1st place. Just proves, if you don't have an offensive line, you got nothin'.

Exactly,,so why does Jerry Reese not know this, add to the fact that he won't draft a lber no matter what.Eli is playing better but the the Giants D stinks and that was suppose to be their strength. Matty if you don't mind I want to steal your prediction,Giants won't win four games all year.
