Black Monday!
So far ........
Colts Bears Lions Raiders Giants ..............all need head coachs. Bengals Cardinals |
Re: Black Monday!
Jon Gruden is expected to be hired as Raiders HC. In fact ESPN even has an article where they say "their employee" is leaving ESPN to join the Oakland Raiders:
https://deadspin.com/espn-our-employee-jon-gruden-will-be-next-raiders-coac-1821686628 How does that work with the Rooney Rule? And what is even the point of that rule, when in the end, NFL owners are going to decide to hire WHOEVER they want, be it a minority candidate or what not. I think it is even more offensive that a rule exists that states a team must interview a minority even when they know they aren't going to hire them. |

Re: Black Monday!
Rumor has it he’ll hire Gunther as his DC and probably take his son the powerlifter “Joe Rock”.

Re: Black Monday!
Luckily we dont play Oak next yr and have to hear about that brother matchup.
|
Re: Black Monday!
Let's see what Jon Gruden does after being away from coaching for a few years. If he comes back with some success, then you wonder if that might entice guys like Jimmy Johnson or Bill Cowher to come back to coaching? I know Johnson is getting up there in age, not sure how old Cowher is.
|
Re: Black Monday!
JJ is like 80
|
Re: Black Monday!
JJ and Cowher are long gone from coaching
|
Re: Black Monday!
Im hearing 2 Philly coaches are being interviewed for HC position..."Flip" the QB Coach who coached up Wentz and may the Schwartz (DC) be with you.
This could be great for the NFC East! |
JJ and Cowher are long gone from coaching
Well, so was Joe Gibbs, but he did come back. Not saying those guys would be successful, but Joe did have some, very minor, success in his second stint. JJ is about 74, so yeah, he probably wouldn't come back. But Cowher is like 60 years old, he probably would come back for a handful of seasons if interested. |

Re: Black Monday!
Lewis deserves it, he's a good coach that has turned that organization around. It's hard winning every yr, but mostly they are competitive

He has an undisciplined team with two of the dirtiest players in the NFL (Burfict and Jones) maybe that’s why has problems winning. He has to get rid of those two. |

Which is y he should stay there, Bengals fans don't care about losing lol they are used to it, but seriously he's done a good job there. 10 of his 15 yrs have ended .500 or better. He's also over .500 for his career, better than what we can say about JAY. |

They are long overdue in bidding him farewell. If you were a Bengals fan, you'd hate his guts. Also, comparing Lewis to Jay Gruden means nothing. You might as well compare Lewis to Rich Kotite. Try comparing him to Bill Belichick. How good does that comparison make him look? |

Honestly, I think Andy Dalton needs another head to be successful in the league. |

Black Monday!
It was going to take a significant offer to get Gruden out of the booth so there it is. Let’s see what the actual guarantees are.

Re: Black Monday!
Is that a good fit for Cam? I don't know. The best defense to face the Norv offense is a zone, which lets everyone keep their eyes on Cam.
Whatever. |

Re: Black Monday!
cam is a beast until his body breaks down, I dont think the scheme will help him be a better passer
|
Re: Black Monday!
Cam is what he is, a physical freak. He’s never going to be a great drop back pure pocket passer. But he’s still damn good.
Norv’s scheme is based on a power running game and play action down the field passing. Without adjustments it doesn’t seem like a great fit for Cam. |
