Season Predictions - post them here

With preseason basically done, and final cuts looming, the time has come to make your predictions. Be bold, be weird, give reasons, or just throw it out .

Our schedule is tough, but this team needs a winning record to press forward, or else who knows what gets blown up.
My first bold prediction is a week 1 win. I hate Gruden's preseason, but ASmith isn't KC, and we will win the redzone frequently.

W wk 1 at Cardinals
W wk 2 Colts
L wk 3 Packers
Tie wk 4 BYE
W wk 5 at Saints
L wk 6 Panthers
W wk 7 Cowboys
L wk 8 at Giants
L wk 9 Falcons
W wk 10 at Bucs
W wk 11 Texans
W wk 12 at Cowboys
L wk 13 at Eagles
W wk 14 Giants
L wk 15 at Jaguars
W wk 16 at Titans
W wk 17 Eagles

Like I said a TOUGH schedule, but I think we go 10-6. And Win the division in the process.

I think we will have a lot of close games, but again, I think ASmith makes the difference

What sayeth the mob :)

9-7 miss playoffs by 1 game

Re: Season Predictions - post them here

I voted for 8 wins, but i could see 9 if all goes well. I don't think Alex has played enough in the pre-season, and if the offense gets off to a real slow start, I think Jay will face a lot of criticism. I believe one of the sideline guys talking about Smith during the Broncos game, said at the time that he had only played something like 30 snaps in the preseason..

Re: Season Predictions - post them here

We will know if the season will be good very quickly - neither the Cardinals nor the Colts project to be very good and so if we do not win both games, we are in for a long season. The Broncos game was pretty worrisome, although with Reed, Doctson, and Crowder out, AS didn’t have his top three weapons, which is pretty significant. I’m more worried right now about the poor LB and secondary play - pretty inexcusable. In any case, if we cannot win those first to games, I have a hard time seeing even 8-8.

As an optimist, I’ll go with 9-7. Had Guice not gone down, I was thinking 10 or 11 wins.

I have to predict 7-9, and that oddly is with a 2-0 start, which considering Gruden's past probably won't happen. Cardinals have a rookie head coach and new QBs, so they should have some growing pains, in game 2 Andrew Luck will probably still be rusty.

It would not shock me to lose at Arz week 1

Re: Season Predictions - post them here

10 - 6 and make the playoffs. Giants are the surprise of the east. No boneheaded QB plays. Cam Sims surprises everyone and is the next Pierre Garcon. AP has 618 yards and 3.4 YPC. Docton loses the starting job by week 6. Jordan Reed has a bounce back season. Plays 14 games and is healthy for 12. Defense is ranked around 15th. Offense is ranked 12th. Passing game slides backwards but the running game improves. Jay adds a fullback to the running game.

9 and 7 is my realistico-optimistic prevision. I can see us beating the Eagles in week 17, we could also beat the Falcons. So my kool aid prediction would be 11 and 5.
Of course, with what we saw against the Broncos, we could very well end up 6 and 10... injuries and lucky/unlucky bounces will make the difference.

Re: Season Predictions - post them here

Win the 1st game and beat the Cowboys twice and Gruden gets extended/we make the playoffs. That would get some monkeys off our backs and give us 3 wins that we'll need with this tough schedule.

My biggest concerns are can Foster play at least league average in the run and pass game, can D.J. play well in coverage, and can Monte stay healthy. Down the middle of the defense needs to be drastically improved. Can't keep getting gashed in the run game and have TEs go hogwild over the middle.

I think our pass game will be elite and our running game will be improved. But until we consently convert short yardage and put the ball in the fucking endzone you have to be a little reserved.

My koolaid is not flowing thru my veins this morning. But to remain positive I'll say 9-7.

I’m going big, 11-5

Smith throws for 3800 yds, 24 TDs, 8 INT

Peterson runs for 1100 yards and 8 TDs and is comeback player of the year

Reed stays healthy and has a monster year with 1000 yards and 10 TDs

On the defensive side Preston Smith breaks out and leads the team in sacks with 13.5, Kerrigan posts 10. Payne and Allen help lead a top 10 D. Dunbar leads in picks with 5.

Oops! You were doing so well up to that point. Reed should play 6-8 games. Doctson will also miss significant time due to various boo-boos and ouchies.

Haha.

If we get double digit games from Reed I'd be amazed. I think Doctson will play all season (minus a game or so).

You’re buying hard on the illusion of the preseason

I don't predict but I will say that the NFC East is returning to one of the better divisions in football.

It all depends on injuries to key players. If the Redskins beat the injury bug, playoffs. If they suffer the amount of injuries as last year, then I say 8-8.

I think it actually comes downs to coaching for us. I’m not sold on the d coordinator and always have been disappointed in how Jay has handled the running game.

When people keeping talking about “hey, this is the most talented, deepest roster”...the expectation is the staff puts them in position to win.

Very with this logic. Saying that I've been underwhelmed by our defensive scheme for years is a complete understatement.

5-11 is harsh, and over reacting to PS.. Dallas looked like the worst team in the league last night... I never take W/L's seriously, what you do take is player grades and if they have improved.. Our DL has improved big time, LB's are about the same and DB's are a ?. 9 wins is the ceiling due to a tough schedule IMO, and a lack of true #1 WR.

Re: Season Predictions - post them here

I think we can get to 10-6, there will be close games that could go either way but we will have better luck this year. If we experience similar number of injuries as last year then we will fall apart.

We do not look very solid, but many of the other teams do not look great either.
There are no super teams anymore. Just a lot of teams with holes in their lineups. Welcome to the age of salary cap, mediocre football.

Re: Season Predictions - post them here

I just think preseason has lost any meaning. You have starters who are risking hundreds of thousands of dollars (or millions for the bigger names) for I think a $5000/game stipend. They know the games mean nothing, regardless of lip service, and teams are not evenly spacing the top players out anyway.

Dak and Elliot didn't even play at all yesterday, do you think that's Dallas' offensive plan?

It comes down to the HC game planning for game1. I don't have a lot of confidence in JG in that regard, but we will be a competitive team this year no matter what.

Safe to say Gruden is a little spooked coming off the ridiculous amount of injuries last year and then to have Guice go down right off the bat this year I’m sure he’s saying F this let’s just get to week 1.

McVay hasn’t even played his offensive starters at all. His defense has played all of 7 snaps.

Re: Season Predictions - post them here

I don't believe this coaching staff is capable of managing a season and making adjustments along the way.

10-6 if everything goes as planned and CT stays healthy!

Realistically, I think 7-9 with Doctson struggling to get separation.

Re: Season Predictions - post them here

I think Peterson goes a long way to helping this team form an identity, fighting like mad fucks for every inch. The defensive line sets the same tone on the other side.

Alex keeps turnovers lower than Cousins and we eke out several wins by taking advantage of the mistakes of others, rather than the other way around, for a change.

11-5, including a sweep of the fucking Eagles.

Re: Season Predictions - post them here

If Peterson can rush for 1200+ and our run defense can even be league average, I think we can win 10+ games. But as discussed, can Gruden commit enough carries to him and the run game in general? And can the d-line stay healthy?

I just really want to see a physical team on both sides. Put some asses on the grass. Look forward to some victory formations this year.

KI Skins Fan 08-28-2018 07:29 AM

Re: Season Predictions - post them here

I can't complain that Gruden has held out so many key players during the preseason. The team suffered so many injuries last season that I felt it completely derailed our playoff run.

I think this team, if key players can stay healthy, could win 10 games despite our tough schedule. Unfortunately, I just can't convince myself that we can stay healthy enough to do that. That's why I went with 8 wins.

The preseason is way too long and needs to be changed. Its ridiculous that teams seem to already be scrambling because of injuries and the season hasn't started yet.

This is an 8-8 team. They start slow and spend most of the season trying to dig out of the hole they dug early.

Anybody other than me old enough to remember when preseason was 6 games long? I think that was a little over 40 years ago.

I don't remember that. I do know back then the players actually used camp and the preseason to get in shape because there weren't all the off season programs like now. Today players come to camp in shape and ready to play, training camp and the preseason are redundant now. My issue is all the preseason injuries, its ruining the product.
