Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)

Giants are bad... really bad

BUT they have owned us in the Eli Manning era, I don't think we just go into their home and blow them out. Kirk is gone so at least we know we wont have bad QB play in Metlife for a change right?? Barkley scares me more than Odell but our Dline is amazing, in fact it may be the best run stopping front in football. Who would have thought that 2 years ago??

Skins win 24 - 17

Our games are all ugly to watch on Offense, it wont change anytime soon. Wins are wins tho.

This game just got a bit easier.

Snacks headed to Detroit:
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000977884/article/giants-trading-damon-snacks-harrison-to-lions

I fully expect our Lines on both sides of the ball to dominate. If they can get that done everything else should fall into place. Giants are in full rebuild mode and we need to take them down.

wow...our running game is gonna benefit from Snacks gone...he's probably the best run stopping defensive lineman in the game.

huge

Detroit just got a effing baller.

WTF... a 5th round pick?

Giants just got taken to the woodshed. you got to be an effing idiot

That is shocking to me! Man, a fire sale is one thing but taking a 5th round pick for Harrison is a give away. I thought you were supposed to have a good GM. That is an absolute steal for Detroit. Was that a cap space move?

Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)

Its all about the trenches again this week folks. I am worried about Dunbar...like how serious is this injury? We need him out there.

Im hoping we get back a WR or two.

Snacks is a massive loss for the Gmen...He's probably their best player on Defense. This helps the running game...Id like AP to get going early, but I hope to see a lot of Perine too. We need to keep AP reps in check, not trying to burn him out.

Run the ball, stop the Run.

It's got to be all about draft ammunition. They clearly know Eli is done. My son, the greatest Eli defender of all time, is so over him he just wants him benched to see what Lauletta can do.

Hopefully that waits till after their bye. I hate playing rookie qb's.

Giants have been very competitive against good teams. I expect nothing different this week. And even though they're tanking, it will still be close cause we're not capable of scoring 30+ points. Skins by a few 20 Giants 17.

Maybe since the Giants are tanking they can put ODB Jr on IR so he can go ahead get his sex reassignment surgery. He got the money now, time to go full bitch mode as opposed to full beast mode.

In my measly 7 years as a Redskin fan I have learned that what looks like on paper the Redskins laying an easy whipping on someone never seems to happen.
Before the game starts I think "Once the Skins are up 21-0 in the first half I will go clean the garage and listen to the rest of the game on the radio." It either ends up a close win or a close loss that goes down to the end.

Considering it is a division road game Redskins win 19-17. Hopkins kicks 4 field goals while the Giant kicker misses a potential game winning 45 yarder as time expires.

Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)

The weirdest part about Eli Apple's trade, is that they don't really have a guy ready to step in. They have the CB from the supplemental draft, but he's on IR, though maybe he comes off soon. Otherwise, their starting CB to replace Apple is probably BW Webb, who according to ProFootballReference has been on 5 teams over 6 years and started a total of 14 games, 4 of those this year.

If our passing game doesn't get right this game, it will be extremely saddening for those of us who still liked the AS trade.

I think we are getting caught up too much on Alex's stats, as long as he doesn't turn the ball over and we win games I don't care if he has 300 yards and 3tds.

He wasn't brought in to put up those great numbers he was brought in to manage the game and limit crucial mistakes at crucial times. Alex is not a better QB than Kirk , but again who else did we have to start? Its already a good trade in my book. Fuller has been avg at best in KC.

I'm not looking for stats, but bad redzone passes and inaccurate passes were not AS football, and it has been the last few weeks.

That's what I mean by "get right", just good efficient play.

An occasional play action pass would be nice to see.

Preston Smith is matched up against the human speed bump Nate Solder who has struggled this year. This will be a get right game for one of them.

GIANTS: Alright, we can do this. On offense we can just toss a few balls to OBJ, all we need is a couple of TD's. They are essentially a one-dimensional running team and we have the best damn run stopper in the game. Good thing we have Snacks or they would just run AP every down and we would never see the ball.

MARA: We just traded Snacks.

GIANTS: Okay offense, no need to practice this week. D ... we got you special jerseys that will not show the cleat marks.

We def cant go in there lax...Skins need to go in there business-like.

Lotta folks have hinted Jay has been pissed off since the New Orleans embarrassment...he needs to keep it rolling.

I'm worried about Dunbar and Crowder (not practicing still)...and a lot of other injured Skins. We need to get some guys back and come out swinging in the trenches.

To me its not about the Giants...its about the Jay and the Skins. If they come out like they did with Indy, its a loss all day long. They thought they could sleep walk through the game.

Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)

This game could get ugly, if the Skins live up to their potential. I don't fear the Giants as much as I fear the Redskins (hopefully discarded after b2b wins) 60 game mortal enemy of being unprepared in consecutive games. Giants have clearly thrown in the towel, if Gruden doesn't have the team prepared it could be Indy 2.0.

CRedskinsRule 10-24-2018 04:13 PM

Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)

This is the type of game the Skins need to get up early, and I think the Giants as a team won't play well together. If the Skins make a few stupid mistakes, and let the Giants get a good feeling then they will play hard all game long.

Unfortunately, the Skins have a longer track record of the second scenario then the first.

Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)

With Snacks gone AP should have a field day. Apple gone too. Not that he is any good but he is better than whoever was behind him on the depth chart. I really hope this isn’t the game that leaves me scratching my head. I will say, again, that if we lose to a one win team with a chance to really take a nice little lead in the division (cowboys have a bye) than Gruden might as well get his bags packed.
I should not be nervous about this game, but I am. However......

Vegas is look at some big time trends:

- We usually suck in Met Life stadium
- We usually suck coming off a win

It's a matter of Vegas believing we'll return to who we've been the last few years. So the question is do you believe it's different now?

The constant is Gruden. At the same time, the team is built completely differently now, with the ability to stop the run and pound the rock with Peterson.

If I were betting it, I'd take the Skins here. I don't think Gruden has had a defense like this until now, and it changes things.

skinsfan69 10-25-2018 11:10 AM

Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)

Here is why the Giants can win. They have wr's, rb and a TE that can make big plays. Beckham can get loose a few times and score from anywhere, as can Barkley. We don't have that kind of playmaker. I want to see Preston Smith dominate this week. Everyone is pissing on Solider. He wasn't this bad playing for the Pats.
