That’s today’s NFL, everyone is buddies with everyone because of free agency. |
Re: R.I.P.-The Dallas-Washington Rivelry
This is not a rivalry anymore, we are OWNED by Dallas to be honest.. Its a sad story

Re: R.I.P.-The Dallas-Washington Rivelry
You do know that a lot of those players on both sides were team mates in college?

If you are referring to Haskins and Elliot exchanging jerseys yesterday, that was Zekes team mate and QB in college man. Just because Haskins got drafted by the Redskins, he has to hate on him? Haskins has logged more time playing with Zeke that he has playing with Washington. Anyway, you know how professional football players are. For 60 minutes, they shift gears and are out to kill each other. After the final whistle, though, they respect each other. |

Bad teams dont have rivals. Over the past 20 plus years, we have lost a lot more than just the numbers in the win-loss column. The rivalry is dead. Easily sparked once we get sustained success and meaningful matchups in December and in the playoffs. I used to think it would eventually happen, the league is cyclical and our window will come ... Ive given up on that. Honestly, the current rivalry is between us and the giants to see who sucks the worst in the NFCE. At some point, I hope the owners take a hard look at Snyder. Not that they could actually do anything but he is costing them all money and the DMV market. |

Yeah, you are right. I thought Haskins played with him his freshman year.... |

The old school is going to die with you. For 60 minutes they're at war with each other, and the rest of the time they're friends. I don't have a problem with that. Also rivalries don't mean shit when your squad ain't shit. We're in that position right now, so until we're good enough to compete with teams I couldn't care less. |

I completely agree with everything you both said! I remember back in the '80's when both the Redskins and Cowboys players would say nasty things about each other before and after the games. The National Symphony Orchestra would play HTTR multiple times during the week. And as you all mentioned, the Team Captains refused to shake hands before the game or after the game. Re: R.I.P.-The Dallas-Washington Rivelry
I'd be more pissed at the fans that have allowed the Cowboy Fans to in and take over our stadium. Its the skins fans selling their tickets to Dallas Fans or scalpers. I also have a feeling if we won the game you wouldn't care that the players are friendlier with each other in today's game.

I heard a good interview on the Junkies driving into work with Michael Lombardi...and the standout thing was the Skins and specifically Bruce's reputation around the league. Nobody wants to work or coach for the Skins with Bruce in charge. Lombardi said he wouldn't know of anybody else maintaining a job with the franchise win-loss record being that bad for that long. He worked with Bruce with the Raiders and Bruce was/has never been a respected Personnel guy. Bruce is a cap guy...a political-type excellent schmoozer who is good face to face, but talks bad behind backs. Bruce was made in Tampa because of Jon Gruden...Gruden needed a yes man...but Gruden called all the shots with personnel. This is his reputation folks...Bruce is the problem. |

Re: R.I.P.-The Dallas-Washington Rivelry
it has nothing to do with todays nfl.
its always been this way. the only people that care about rivalries, are media and the fans they sell it to. pro jocks dont care about rivalries. they never have. its all a story to get fans fired up. its not high school/college. they are just teams in the same division who play alot. and besides.. the Redskins rivalries are ny,GB, Chicago, Eagles, Detroit. Dallas is a team from the 60s lol.. i'm half kidding but you get what I mean. Dont worry about it. Haskins will beat them the next time. |

But back in the day, the Cowboys-Redskins rivalry ran DEEP and extended on and off the field and the front offices. Just Google up how Dallas was awarded an NFL franchise to begin with. And Google how the Washington Redskins were tagged to relocate to Dallas in '58. And how the Cowboys owners once owned the rights to the song Hail to the Redskins. As I say, back in the day. |

All those teams hate each other. That feeling comes from ownership on down and the players who don't feel that way, soon do. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk |

To be honest, Social Media has ended most rivalries

Re: R.I.P.-The Dallas-Washington Rivelry
Snyder’s private little NFL franchise and plaything. Snyder claims to be a great Redskin’s fan but he has been the worst thing ever to happen to this franchise now and until he dies or sells the team.
He is like a plague to this once proud franchise on every level. The only people who now support him are those that he pays or pays off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
