Re: Super Bowl week: around the NFL
As for this game, I'm kinda 50-50 on who I want to win.. I love Kyle and would like to see him start a legacy like his dad did, and I would also like Andy to get 1.

Re: Super Bowl week: around the NFL
Definitely rooting for Andy Reid. Fuck Kyle

I just have this weird feeling that SF has built a dynasty team. I'm with you, I'd like to see Andy Reid finally get a ring, but I have to admit, San Fran looks like a team that's built to win for the next several years. But, then again, so does KC. |

I know Rivers wasn't no Brady/etc. but to do him dirty like that reflects poorly on them. |

+1 on the first bit. I don't have any hate for Kyle, I'd just rather see Reid win his first. Kyle will have more opportunities down the road. |
Re: Super Bowl week: around the NFL
Excited, this is a really good match up. Only possible route to a blow out I see is if 9ers get down by double digits early.
Jimmy G is the only unproven element to me. Can he be clutch with the game on the line? Should be an awesome game. |
Re: Super Bowl week: around the NFL
I have zero rooting interest, just hoping for a good game. Reid probably locks up the HOF with a win.
|
Re: Super Bowl week: around the NFL
I think the strength of SF is that pass rush but Mahomes's mobility negates it to some extent. San Fran lost to the Ravens earlier this year, they just couldn't get to Lamar Jackson enough, he escaped too many times. I think they have trouble on the back end dealing with Mahomes and his speedy receivers when the scramble drill is on. It's just too much to deal with.
I got KC 30 - 27 |
Re: Super Bowl week: around the NFL
im going with Andy Reid he deserving of a ring ….

I think Reid is a HoFer even without this win (especially when Bud Grant and Marv Levy are in) but a win Sunday makes him a first ballot HoF lock. |
Re: Super Bowl week: around the NFL
I have no dog in this fight, so I'll be rooting for the Chiefs for no other reason that my best man at my wedding is a Chiefs fan. :)

Re: Super Bowl week: around the NFL
KC , My Parents / Uncle's went to high school with Len Dawson , so I root for KC when they are in the playoffs . It would be nice to see Reid get a ring , great coach who has had some tough things in life ( sons ) . I hope to see a competitive game …………….. GO CHIEEEEEEEFS !

Re: Super Bowl week: around the NFL
Any push to get the Superbowl on Saturday?
This Sunday thing kills me every time. Last few years I drove almost an hour one way to watch it with people but then you have your kid with you, school night, 1 hour drive back ... I gotta leave right after kickoff lol. https://www.si.com/extra-mustard/2020/01/24/super-bowl-petition-move-from-sunday-to-saturday 16 year old trying to get it going. I signed the petition. |

Whether I watch it live or not*, i usually have to book the Monday off to either watch it, recover some sleep time and/or occassionally get over a hangover. 😁 *I suffer with Menieres disease so I can't always stay up and watch it live. |

Can't call out because I'm the replacement for a guy on FMLA right now either so we're already short-staffed. As big as the Super Bowl is, I mean we're talking an event that transcends football just for the crowds it draws who watch it for the commercials, I would think they wouldn't lose much viewership moving it to a Saturday night. And making the next day an actual gov't sanctioned holiday is never going to work. |

Move that bad boy to Saturday. It would be weird the 1st year but it would become normal in the following year or 2. |
Re: Super Bowl week: around the NFL
I was kind of rooting for Kyle until I read he still had a major grudge against the Redskins - even now. Bruce Allen was an idiot and made many huge mistakes, as well as severely burning bridges with many who left the Redskins. But Bruce is gone now and the media and fan base was ecstatic that he was fired. He went through several teams on the way to the 49ers, just wish he wasn’t still butt hurt due to his Dad and his firing.

And screw the 49ers too! I dumped my 49er fandom when I left Cali 10 years ago. Love to see Andy Reid get a Super Bowl win. Reid has the most wins for an NFL coach without a championship, time to pass that torch to someone else. |

Monday hangovers after the Super Bowl are an American tradition, don't mess with it. I think it is the most popular day for people calling in sick. |
Re: Super Bowl week: around the NFL
SF Is 21-5 under Jimmy GQ.. 4-20 without him.
That guy is a winner |

Damn right!! Brian Mitchell is pulling for Andy Reid, loves him and says he reminds him of Joe Gibbs. He knows, having played for both. |
Re: Super Bowl week: around the NFL
Kansas City definitely cannot afford the slow starts that they got off to against Houston and Tennessee. They do that against the 49ers they will be finished.

Re: Super Bowl week: around the NFL
Pulling for SF. Keep it the NFC plus I hate the Royals for knocking the O's out in 2014. Don't want to see that city happy.

I have vietnamese only speaking clients coming in at 9:15 am on Monday for a 2 hour meeting with an interpreter ... I offered 10 am, they said 9 .. compromised at 9:15. FML |

I offered 10 am, they said 9 .. compromised at 9:15. FML
My last job before self employment decades ago was working at a place that had a lot of Vietnamese employees. One of them told me different voice inflictions can change the meaning of speech. To me it often seemed like they were yelling at each other, I was always waiting for them to start swinging. I would not want to deal with that with a hangover. |

Re: Super Bowl week: around the NFL
Anyone making predictions for this?
SF: 30 KC: 26 Nail biter to the end. |
Re: Super Bowl week: around the NFL
This should be a great game. Can't recall the last time I've looked forward to a Super Bowl as this one. I think it could come down to Jimmy G. KC will score some and SF will stop them some. I still think they get minimum 25 points potentially in the 30s. SF's running game alone will not be enough offense against the KC. Jimmy G will need to play well for them to win.
|
Re: Super Bowl week: around the NFL
Thats why I'm going with the Chiefs. Mahomes is a difference maker and he showed that last 2 games and then some. Jimmy G is good, they wouldn't be in the game without him. But I don't see him as being that guy, if he was the Pats wouldn't have traded him. If it comes down to it, I go with the hot QB.
|
Re: Super Bowl week: around the NFL
I’m pulling for KC but the match up is the worst possible to for KC.
San Fran: 30 KC: 26 |

I definitely agree on that, especially since he was traded for a second. The Patriots rarely get the short end of a trade deal. Belichick letting him go for a second screams, good, not great QB. I do think the talking heads don't give Jimmy G the credit he deserves. He has went 19-5 since joining a team that was 1-10 before he got his first start, so that makes him a winner and better than most. Anyone else listen to Colin Cowherd? I swear before the play-offs started he was saying Garoppolo was the 49ers weak link, this past week he has been praising him. I swear Cowherd seems to change his mind about things every time the wind blows a different direction. |
Re: Super Bowl week: around the NFL
49ers 20
Chiefs 7 Niners get 9 sacks Mahomes probably leaves game with injury. Bosa, MVP. The 9-0 Redskins game was a clue. Mahomes is 24. Only 5 QBS under age 25 have won a SB. State Farm = SF Mahomes and Rodgers are friends in commercial = they both lose to SF. |
