NFL players approve the new CBA deal

Interesting. I don't expect the vocal opposition to lie down quietly though, they will probably keep the challenge going through the courts. Not a fan of the 17th game either, for NFL record purposes, or for the symmetry of the existing schedule. But money is the bottom line. |
Re: NFL players approve the new CBA deal
Not a fan of 17 games or more playoff Teams

Re: NFL players approve the new CBA deal
I like the 17th game. If for no other reason then barring an 8-8-1 record, a team either had a winning or losing season. No more .500 teams as a rule.
Also like 3 preseason games instead of 4. Not a fan of the changed playoff format. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |

More playoff football rocks, 17th game doesn’t bother me either way

Re: NFL players approve the new CBA deal
If you test positive for weed you won’t be suspended, TW must be happy.

Re: NFL players approve the new CBA deal
Not a fan of more games, but are they shortening the preseason?
Currently the season (not including playoffs) is about 21 weeks; 4 preseason games and 17 week regular season. If you shorten preseason to 2 games, add another regular season game, and add another bye week, it would still be 21 weeks; 2 preseason games and 19 week regular season. I'd be happy with that setup. |
Re: NFL players approve the new CBA deal
All they're doing is watering down the product even more. You're going to see 8-8 and 7-9 teams making the playoffs. Don't want to see that shit at all.
Also 17 games? The league really showed their true hand when it comes to player safety. They really don't care. |
Re: NFL players approve the new CBA deal
Draft postponed to May

If you have a bitch about player safety then as of now blame the players...........they voted to accept it. |

Good for them he doesn't pass the eye test for me. |
Re: NFL players approve the new CBA deal
So now Brady is down to Chargers , Bucs , Pats , Colts.
I'd stay with NE |

I'd stay with NE
NE may not want him back. I think Belichick wants to move on. He's seeing how the game is changing and the more mobile QB's are the future. |
Re: NFL players approve the new CBA deal
No weed suspension anymore.

FTFY If you test positive for weed you won't be suspended, 80% of NFL players must be happy. |
Re: NFL players approve the new CBA deal
We should get a 2nd for TW now. No weed suspension anymore.
|
Not all voted for 17 games.
Then leave the Union...........................,start your(the players) own league .It's the way the business that they are in is run only they can change it. |
Re: NFL players approve the new CBA deal
Tannahill got $126 million(ball park) , Rivers will end up at Tampa ,Brady will finish out in NE and yes the Pats will draft a QB.

Pats already drafted Stidham last year. |
Re: NFL players approve the new CBA deal
Rivers does not fit in that system, Bruce loves driving the ball deep and he can't do that anymore.

They should draft another just in case |
Re: NFL players approve the new CBA deal
Rivers going to Indy

So you think Brady can drive the ball deep but Rivers can not? |
Re: NFL players approve the new CBA deal
I don't think Brady fits there either. I said he should stay in NE

Not a fan of the 17th game either, for NFL record purposes, or for the symmetry of the existing schedule. But money is the bottom line.
I like the new playoff format and have no particular opinion about the 17th game. About players safety, on top of removing one pre season game, they also: -expended the roster from 53 to 55 (practice squad from 10 to 12 and then 14. Game day roster from 46 to 48) -reduced padded practices in training camp from 28... to 16 ! And from 3h to 2.5h. So basically it's a reduction of over 50% of padded practice time in training camp. That seems like a lot, I wonder if some coaches will have a hard time adapting to that. You have to wonder if it will have an effect on the level of preparation of players... -limited padded practices during the season at 14 (11 of them in the first 11 weeks, so only 3 left for the last 7 weeks) I also wonder if we'll see an effect on the level of preparation of some teams. Don't know what the previous limit was though, anybody? -limited at 12h per day the time spent at team facilities Envoyé de mon SM-J320FN en utilisant Tapatalk |
Re: NFL players approve the new CBA deal
With the right practice plan and focus on what you want to get out of a padded practice, I can't see it affecting preparation. Padded sessions are about going full or near full speed with contact, so plenty of limited contact/helmet only sessions will prepare them fitness and football skills wise ahead of full practices.
