Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
Put your gameday predictions here or anything you'd like to see or hope to see.
I'm excited to see if Gibson gets 100+ yards from scrimmage. So glad I live in a condo complex this year, I can get Sunday Ticket 2 Go. Don't want to try to go out to watch the games. Gonna end up saving a ton of money this season. WFT 17 - Eagles 13. Rivera starts a streak of actually winning in week 1. |
Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
If we win this game, Give RR an extension asap
|
Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
The Eagles have won 6 straight against us, hopefully that changes Sunday
|
Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
Our team will REALLY be hurt by no preseason games. Don't expect anything different - fall behind early and scrape back but lose
24-30 |
Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
WFT 32. Eagles 12
Young knocks Wentz out in the second play of the game, and their #2 isn’t close to ready. Our line stuffs the run all day and we win the field position battle. Sims, McLovin, and AG all find the end zone, we are 3-3 on short FGs, and Sweat records his first safety. I immediately call my mother-in-law who is an Eagles fan and gloat. Doesn’t hurt to dream. I actually think that if we can protect Haskins, we will at least keep it close. Their O line weakness should be exposed pretty quickly. The real question is whether our offense can move the ball. Could be a low scoring 17-14 kind of game. Without preseason games, so hard to predict. But the optimist in me says we win a close one to usher in a new era. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
Bill Burr sums up my feelings about Philly and their fans quite nicely .... If you don't mind some coarse language, and have 10 minutes to spare, I recommend a listen.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=3&v=hs07uWsebYw&feature=emb_logo As far as the game goes .... Chase Young and Montez Sweat make life miserable for Carson Wentz. McLaurin and Gibson do enough. And Geron Christian surprises with more than a competant outing. Skins win (Oops) ... I mean ... Football Team wins 23 - 13. |
Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
Defense usually starts stronger than O even with a preseason. So I'm going with our DL wreaking havoc enough to keep their O on the back foot and keeping them under 20. O leans on the run, misdirection and screens with a few deep shots. Scary gets on the end of one of the latter. Tight but WFT scrape by 20-19.

Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
18 - 15 Eagles. WTF has several sacks and a late turn over ends their chances.
|
Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
Total rebuild year. This team will be lucky to win 6 games. This won’t be one of them. Id just like to see growth at some key positions namely quarterback.
If we can have one more offseason with Haskins locked in as the clear cut quarterback of the future than this season was a success. |
Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
Eagles jump out, but too much Riverboat Ron in the end. We open with a win.
Skins 30 Eagles 23 Have some faith |
Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
i don't see a win here. o-line struggles. i expect some turnovers. but i really don't care. the youth movement is officially here and i love it.
and i really like our head coach. he just comes off as a mans man. no bullshit or drama with this guy. doesn't mean he's going to win but at least we have a real leader at the helm. |
Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
Strange but with all that’s going on I won’t be nearly as upset if we lose .. I’ll say eagles 27 Washington (that plays in Maryland) football team ex- redskins 14 points .. and the d scores 6 ...

Redskins defense dominates and wins.
|
Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
24 - 14 WFT
Skins D dominates. D.O.M.I.N.A.T.E.S. Del Rio has them running through walls. The offense takes advantage of turnovers (four by the Eagles) and does enough. Haskins has a good (not great) day. McLaurin and Gibson 100 yards from scrimmage each. I am officially back in my Burgundy and Gold glasses. For all of the shit during the offseason, Rivera, Del Rio and Turner will have this team as prepped and ready to go as they can. Wentz is in for a very long day and is going to put the ball on the ground a couple times. |

We do this every year, think we're gonna turn a new leaf and be respectable. I gotta counteract all this positive juju. 45-14 Eagles. We score a couple pity td's late, but only after Haskins throws 3 picks. Gibson has an average debut, McLaurin gets 88 yards with 45 coming on a deep td late. Jason Peters makes Chase Young look invisible. |
Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
Skins almost won last year week 1 with Jay at the helm and Manusky doing his best to let the Eagles win. I think a better coached and more talented WFT will win week 1 this year.
|
Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
Many of the media "experts" are predicting that the Eagles will be Super Bowl contenders and that the WFT will have one of the worst records in the NFL. I'm here to tell you that these "experts" are wrong about both teams.
We are going to be in the game all the way on Sunday and I think we can beat them. It will be must see TV for WFT fans as we unveil a much faster and explosive team in all three phases of the game. |
Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
I just looked at our depth chart. Idk who some of these guy are.. lol.
Also they have Gibson as the starter? Crazy. |

Also Im not sure who else would be a sure shot starter with Guice and AP gone....Mckissic is a third down back. Barber is meh. Love is basically a rookie too and coming off an injury. |

I always drink the offseason koolaid. This year is no different. WFT 31 iggles 17

Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
Redskins 31
Eagles 16 Defense will eat Wentz alive. Combine for 9 sacks. They get lucky on one deep TD pass because that's our weakness on D. Aside from that, only FGs. Haskins and McLaurin will hook up for 2 TDs, another to Logan Thomas. Gibson will run for the other TD, a 30+ yard run. Hopkins hits a 34-yard FG in his only try. Haskins finishes with 275 passing, another 35 rushing and 3 TD passes. McLaurin for 150, 2 TDs. Gibson 125 AP yards, 1 TD run. |
Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
I don't really get why people are so high on the Eagles.
Their WRs are two 30+ years old guys and a 5th round pick, their OL is banged up already, their Dline on paper is decent but didn't produce that much last year, nor did their secondary and they lost some key DBs this year, even with the addition of Darius Slay, not that impressed. More than ever, this game will be won or lost in the trenches. If our promising front 7 dominates a banged up OL, and our question mark riddled OL can hold their ground against a decent Eagles DL, we'll win this one. But if our young DL doesn't produce and our OL struggles, it'll be a long afternoon (well evening for me but who cares). I'll let the optimist in me make the projection and go Skins 17 - 13 Eagles. |
Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
From a talent perspective, eagles are overrated. They have the flashy talent vets such as Slay, Fletch, Ertz and...Lane Johnson/Kelce on the oline, but overall are pretty average. Plus they are banged up big time.

Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
Good time to get Philly, definitely can see an upset here

Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
Big plays will be available against the Eagles secondary. Their CB in camp were awful not named Slay.
While running the ball is key to winning football...I would love us to come out and throw the ball aggressively against this team |

I think the talking heads are just not giving enough credit to booting B. Allen out and replacing him as the head football operations with Rivera. I just think that the players are a lot more comfortable with the RR being in charge. I am not talking coaching so much as the team's messaging to players and their ability to trust it. Additionally, I don't think enough credit is given to the significant leap in coaching that has take place from Gruden/Manusky to Rivera/Del Rio. Whereas Manusky seemed to barely tap the talent he had, I firmly believe JDR is going to get the most out of every player. Also, I think (but am not certain) RR is a much better game manager than Gruden - but, that's not setting the bar very high. Remember one of JDR's first comments? The D had some talent but wasn't communicating. Reporter's (particularly J. Keim) have commented on this in the past. This year, players are gonna talk and play as a team. I expect a HUGE jump in the D's performance. I fully expect a lot fewer big plays based on miscommunication in the secondary. On top of that, they have the guys to rush the passer and jam the line. For me, Haskins is the question mark and his progress will make or break the season. Rivera said he wanted the QB's to know their progressions and wasn't worried about accuracy. I get that, but Haskins accuracy HAS to improve. He left a lot of points on the board and threw a lot of picks just based on his inability to CONSISTENTLY make an accurate throw. If he fixes that, the sky's the limit. Philly just doesn't impress me. They were a 9-7 team last year. They have solid but not spectacular coaching. Wentz is a good QB who can be streaky great. He also, however, puts the ball on the ground. Chase Young is going to have an LT-like debut. They just won't be ready for him. Philly is going to lose by a convincing amount. Most of the 4th quarter will be spent with WFT fans thinking "Well, how are they going to blow this?" ... and then they won't. They will play solid football (as solid as they can giving the lack of preseason, etc.) from beginning to end. |

Our secondary was very bad last year and it appears on paper may have gotten worse, definitely didnt get upgraded. New coaches, new everything. Antonio Gibson carried the ball 33 times last year with Memphis. He's 6" and 230 lbs soaking wet. Our starting RB (barber) has been an UFA journeymen on different practice squads. Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
Our coaching cost us 16 games last year. That includes winning in spite of our coaching staff. That alone is an upgrade to an 8-8 record throw in Skins records in funky years and we are SB bound!!!

Eagles are 6 point favorites... I'd take the football team
|
Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
Eagles have very little game film to prepare for.
I give the FTFKATR the advantage. |
Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
The Eagles destroy WFT and Haskins looks like a rookie.
Phil 35 WFT 0 |
Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
The last few years, I just was not into the Skins' with the fanaticism I up threw RGIII's sophomore year. That one just broke me. After that, sure, they did some good things but the Bruce Allen experiment was an absolute failure, and I just didn't care.
The stories from the post, the hiring of Rivera, JDR, Jason Wright, and Julia Donaldson (fyi - I love the Jason Wright hiring as the most under the radar improvement. He and Rivera will straighten all the off-field crap up and run the team like pros rather than frat boys), all these things look to me like they are having a transformative effect on the team. Time will tell, but I firmly believe that pros are running the show now and that they are not going to put up with the horse shit that went on in the past. With all the issues surrounding him, I think Snyder lets his hires do their job and just stays the fuck out while the NFL sorts out the allegations against him. I am actually excited for WFT football again. It's been a long time. |
Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
Interesting depth chart released today by the Skins
JD Mck starter at RB...and the LB lineup is a surprise. SDH is starter over Thomas, KLP is a starter at weak side. Cole listed as a MLB behind bostic |
Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
SDH had an impressive camp apparently
|
Re: Week 1: Let's Go!!!!
I think WFT stands a better change then that to sneak one away from Philly.
Alshon Jeffery stands a good chance of missing the first month of the season as he recovers from foot surgery. DeSean Jackson has passed the stage where he can be trusted to stay on the field. First-round pick Jalen Reagor is sidelined after suffering a slight tear in his shoulder in the last week of camp. It will be J.J. Arcega-Whiteside and Greg Ward to allow Carson Wentz to make this offense go. Who they got at LT? The front 7 of WFT can wreak havoc. I think this game is closer than everyone thinks. |
