Washington QB Dwayne Haskins was fined $40K by the team for COVID-19 violations after he attended a strip club without a mask, source said. A significant amount. This is the largest known fine for a player for a COVID violation – more than half of Haskins’ weekly paycheck.

Cut him in the offseason and you still have to pay him the guaranteed salary. So on the books in 2021 he'll have a $4.0M cap number. Cut him and the cap number goes up to $8.5M.

Worth it. I'd eat $4.5M to get this shithead out of the locker room. I don't think I've hated a Redskin player so much since Haynesworth.

I doubt the NFL execs are going to be party to a deal that involves a team cutting a player. The deal probably just revolved around the punishment, allowing him to participate in outdoor practices, but not allowing him to be physically present in the meeting rooms.

His Captain's patch was like that guy who was awarded a Nobel Prize before doing anything.

He never did anything to earn it. I believe it was purely a motivational tool to try to get the kid going. Failed.

While he's getting off easy, it does bode well for our playoff chances now.

I still hope and pray Alex Smith is ready so they can deactivate him and make Heinicke the backup on Sunday, then cut him the day after the postseason ends.

It's popular in college this year all of a sudden. Every team has a #0 now. Never saw it before this year, they must have opened it up with a new rule.


Some teams even use it was a weekly award, but in Dwayne's case, it's the only number he should be allowed to wear.

He went because he's immature, selfish, and thinks he's all that despite not having accomplished anything in the NFL. He's not humbled, he's not sorry...he's sorry he got caught, but that's about it.

Unfortunately DH has leverage in this situation. I don't know that he's smart enough to even know that, but he does. It's all so unfortunate.

40K is nothing to a pro athlete. And do you think Haskins honestly cares that he doesn't get to wear his little "C" on the uniform?

I felt that Ron should have suspended Haskins for the remainder of the season.

Then next season, deal him or cut him. The sooner he is gone from here, the better.

They should write language into the contracts that allows them to waive their contract in the case of bringing the team/league into disrepute. I'd argue ignoring Covid regulations is equivalent to giving the team and league the finger!

We disagree on a lot but I completely agree with you on this.

He should've been stripped of his captaincy when he was benched earlier this season, I honestly thought it was weird that you'd bench a guy for work ethic and still let him wear the C. Just take it from him, no need to put out a press release about it.
