Eagles @ WTF 2.0 post game thread
That was the ideal ending for me - we kept it respectable, in it until the end, Heinicke gives us optimism on the last drive until he gets desperate and throws it into triple coverage trying to make a play.
Would you rather have a short moment of happiness or a higher draft pick to play with this offseason? I'm looking long term on this. Winning this game does nothing to improve our long term prospects. Even if we did make the playoffs this team would get curb stomped by Dallas in the first round. |
Re: Eagles @ WTF 2.0 post game thread
Can we draft some coaches? Turner started out good then pissed his Pampers in the second half and I’m not entirely sure JDR knows how scheme a defense, call plays, knows he is a defensive coach on an NFL team, exists.

Re: Eagles @ WTF 2.0 post game thread
I want to win when I watch. In another 30 minutes I won't care anymore, about this particular game.
But the losing in general is just fucking tiresome. Especially on dumb fuck throws like that. Just sheer stupidity to throw that ball. |
Re: Eagles @ WTF 2.0 post game thread
No points in the 2nd half. Defense played the same defense every damn play just about.
Great fucking coaching. |
Re: Eagles @ WTF 2.0 post game thread
Disappointing - really wanted to beat the Eagles. Anyone else notice the refs miss two false starts on Lane Johnson before they called the 1st one (They called two on him)? That is the one penalty that should never be missed yet the refs managed it twice. The Redskins coaching staff must have complained which finally forced them to call it in the 2d half. (The 1st non call was on the play where Hurts ran for about 30 yards in their first TD drive - so yeah it could have effected the outcome).

Back to back 10 loss seasons (counting the playoffs last year)
Shows that this staff and team are not good enough to be even an average team. Unfortunately it’s on par for this franchise Same shit different year |

If I am Ron I am on the horn with Baltimore. Lamar or Hundley which do you want to get rid of? We will take
|
Re: Eagles @ WTF 2.0 post game thread
Fire everyone and hire Todd Bowles or Leftwich.

Re: Eagles @ WTF 2.0 post game thread
Can we at least start Kyle Allen next week to figure out if we should keep him on the roster or get rid of Heinicke?
|
Re: Eagles @ WTF 2.0 post game thread
I still believe in RR .. it’s hard to tell about Turner as play caller let’s face it we do not have a legit starting QB . We are so bad at LB same for JDR .. I’m not sure we are gonna see any major changes in coaches.. what we need is Legit Starting QB, LB,LB,LB ….

Re: Eagles @ WTF 2.0 post game thread
No way they let Lamar go and Huntley is a backup.. we need to stop doing after all these QB2s
Draft Pickett or Willis and hope they hit. That’s all u can do is keep guessing. The QB position is a crapshoot. |

You know what's scarier than losing today? Losing Terry to another team because we can't give him a qb who can consistently throw the ball well. |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hundley can pass. I just don’t see any viable solutions. No QB in first round I see worth getting, no FA or currently disgruntled QB that wants to come here is better. IDK until we get the QB situation resolved or LT nothing else is really going to excite me or make this team better. We can draft a LB or S or whatever else and it really won’t add wins so I am willing to do anything to excite me again |
Re: Eagles @ WTF 2.0 post game thread
If you don't love any of the QBs, trade down then use 1 of the picks on a QB you like best, then you will still have additional pick(s) to help mitigate the risk of drafting that QB if it doesn't work out.

Santana knows what it's like to waste your career playing for scrub QB's. Glad to see him giving Terry a pep talk. |

I wonder what it would take to get Hundley I think he is a better prospect than anyone in the draft, but the Ravens may demand too much for him. |
Re: Eagles @ WTF 2.0 post game thread
One thing for sure, I would not overpay if they decide to go for Jimmy G, definitely not a 1st or 2nd rounder, maybe a 3rd. Fuck the 49ers they already ripped us off with TW.

Yeah as long as the cost is reasonable but with the number of teams QB hungry I could see it costing more than I’d like |
Can we at least start Kyle Allen next week to figure out if we should keep him on the roster or get rid of Heinicke?
We can afford to keep both, along with a rookie QB. Allen won't be expensive to resign. We have seen how COVID has affected this team and other teams, so I think it's ideal to have 3 QBs on the team just in case 1 or 2 of the QBs got it.

I really hope we can stomp the Giants though. End on a high note by beating a team I detest. Honestly, if we don’t and then announce a sucky new name, I will seriously have to consider whether I want to spend the next half of my life rooting for this team

I don't understand why Sims wasn't #2 in the first place. Sims is probably #3 on most of teams but he definitely has been the next best WR after McLaurin on this team since last year.

Re: Eagles @ WTF 2.0 post game thread
the only way I feel things change around here is if we draft a superstar type of QB. we need a guy that people will want to pay to see. we saw it in 2012. maybe to a lesser extent w/ Cousins at the end of 2015 - but we need a cornerstone type of guy that the city can gravitate to, the type of guy that can carry the team if needed. if we go out and get Mariota or Jimmy G it isn't going to change anything. we gotta get that guy in the draft., probably 2023 or beyond. .. :-(

Re: Eagles @ WTF 2.0 post game thread
Story of the game is simple IMO.
Can't sustain 60 minutes of football with an OL constituted of: slow LT - 3rd string LG with bad hands - 3rd string center - Banged up RG - Back up RT Unless of course you have Russel Wilson, Aaron Rodgers or Patrick Mahomes as your QB. Which we don't. Defense did as good as we could except considering they had no depth at DE, were playing LB David Mayo most of the game because Jamin Davis was obviously not 100%, had Danny Johnson (who I actually think is a quality depth guy) Reaves and Corn "the F did you come from" Edler out there for way too many snaps... Fuller had a solid game. Settle, Allen and Ioannidis played well. |

Great fucking coaching.
Not gonna say it was great defensive play calling, but in terms of personnel, who were they supposed to play ? With Davis still not recovered from whatever illness he caught, playing your base 4-3-4 was not an option. So it was either Nickel 4-2-5 (enter Danny Johnson), or Dime 4-1-6 (enter Corn Edler), or the 5 man front 5-2-4, maybe they did a bit of 5-1-5 (not sure), but it's not like they had crazy depth at DE either, so very limited in what they could show in terms of personnel and rotation. |

Hurts just sat back there or ran back there until someone was open. Barely got him on the ground all game. Gotta do something, even if its blitzing a CB or safety or something sometimes. We were 6-9, playing it conservative doesn't make much sense to me, even if limited by personel. |

That's fair, and with the overall production by this D, I'm beginning to think JDR may not be the guy for us. Anyway we knew he was more an old school disciplinarian than a very creative mastermind. I just felt watching that game like this D did ok considering who they had available. |
