The 2022 Washington Commanders draft thread

For day 2/day 3 discussion.

Any ideas on who to look for tomorrow? We are picking 47th and 98th tomorrow.

Mayhew said they had 3 offers to move back from 16. Guess they really liked Dotson.

Mayhew not ruling out trading back in day 2 - guess it all depends who's on their board.

Longest wait for a qb to go off the board in almost 25 years supposedly. Speaks to the quality of the draft class.

Lewis Cine off the board at #32 to the Vikings.

Ron said they wanted to make sure Wentz had weapons - sounds like it might be a theme for the draft.

Ron: Trading down was a priority because there's a lot of value in the middle of the draft.

Dean, Muma, Andersen, Brisker, McBride or Pitre would be good at 47.

Re: The 2022 Washington Commanders draft thread

So far so good. I like the Dotson pick. He will be a great complement to Terry. With C Sims back in the mix (with a QB that can get the ball to the receivers), and C Samuel healthy, this receiving corps could be great.

I think Jalen Pitre is the pick at 47 if he's still available. Either way, I think we come away with two of these guys tomorrow:

Jalen Pitre, S
Brian Asamoah, LB
Kenneth Walker III, RB
Luke Goedeke, OL
Abraham Lucas, OL
Andrew Boothe, CB
Christian Harris, LB
Troy Anderson, LB
Perrion Winfrey, DL
Chad Muma, LB

Safety Brisker…another Penn Stater would be my choice in the second. He could fill the Buffalo nickel

We need depth, I'm sure he'll be in the rotation.

Would have liked Dean, but we have a need in DT depth and a potential starter if we let Payne walk.

Settle wanted starter playing time, he knew he was 3rd guy here in Washington.

Brisker or Dean woulda been great there.

Maybe they think Nick Cross could be there later?

Re: The 2022 Washington Commanders draft thread

I don't know with some coaching maybe he'll be more impressive than his tape. I'm underwhelmed by this pick and really feel we could have added a more impact full and more consistent contributor.... it's the 2nd fuckin round for fuck sake

sdskinsfan2001 04-29-2022 08:28 PM

Re: The 2022 Washington Commanders draft thread

This 3rd round pick better be good. Unreal. I don't want depth in the top 50. Payne better be getting traded asap.

Amazing how things change so quickly. Week one last year DT and WR were the two things we needed least but here we are.

Only thing worse than this draft is Mel Kipers hairline.

Re: The 2022 Washington Commanders draft thread

Hurts to watch a franchise a few miles north of us constantly draft well and drafting players we could've had at that.

Really wish I could root for a competent franchise someday but, alas.....

Unless we just drafted Paynes replacement. Than we basically got rid of Settle to draft Settle. Could have had Settle and say Brisker.

There is no way I can defend this pick. When in doubt draft an Alabama DT.

Assuming Settle wanted to stay. But he has the opportunity to be a starter in Buffalo, I'm sure he wanted to go there. I don't understand why is so hard for people to understand that you can't keep everyone.

You also can't keep everyone on the D-line, Payne could be the odd man out. So you draft both for depth and for replacement.

I wanted Dean, but it is not like they drafted a fucking kicker in the 2nd round.
