I kinda forgot about pre-season. I don't have NFL Network anymore, so I won't get to watch any of our pre-season games this year. Here's to health and Wentz looking good.

The HOF game will be on NBC. I probably will watch the first few minutes then move on. Preseason games are meaningless for everyone except for the players who are fighting for a spot on team.

I would be a lot more interested in the game tonight if Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne were playing. Not happening. Think Etienne can have a great pro career. We need to be ready for him week 1.

Didn't watch much of the game at all last night. Heard Travon Walker impressed. Still think this is going to be a good game week 1. Jacksonville spent a ton of money in the offseason and had a good draft. Must win game 1.

I dont know if the Raiders had their top tackle in there, but Travon Walker looked like LT last night.

I'm actually enjoying watching this shit...

One thing, the jags 3rd round pick Center Luke Fortner really looks the part ! Agressive, pro-active, looking at ease... you wouldn't guess he's a rookie. Impressive.

Ravens tonight. Ravens are banged up. 1st round pick this year center Linderbaum "doesnt" have a lisfranc injury per Ravens .... its a foot ligament issue. Foot issues for big guys is not good. Ronnie Stanley is on PUP but sounds like he'll be good to go week 1. Marcus Peters on PUP.

Does anybody know what channel(s) will be showing the game on Saturday? Here in the UK I will have to find an illegal stream so it will help if I know where to start looking. Thanks

Anyone else watched the first few series of browns @ jagz ?
Deshaun Watson sure looked way off his game. Wether it was the time not playing, the distraction with the suspension looming, or a combination of both, he was inaccurate, couldn't connect even on very easy throws ... You can say it's what pre season is for, but it's not something Browns fans wanted too see.

This whole waiting until 1:00 p.m. all season is going to be absurd. I've been to the gym, grocery store, cleaned my apartment, did laundry, and it's still barely past noon. For all of you lifetime east-coasters I commend your patience.

Now that I am back on the east coast I can not stand what time the games come on. I got so use to morning 🏈!!!

People that have never lived out west don't know how awesome it is to wake up and have your breakfast/ brunch/ coffee and have the games come on. Or get off work and have college bball on at 4pm. MNF at 530pm is possibly the best thing on earth.. 😂. I never make the end of MNF on the east coast.. 😡

Closing in on the 1st half, I'll check the 2nd half later mainly to see Sam Howell.

Thought the [I]Oline played pretty well[/I] overall. Norwell is solid.

[B]Schweitzer[/B] is really good, I wouldn't be surprised if he started at RG over Trai Turner.

So I guess we are officially a 5-2 defense now, I don't think I saw one snap in 4-3 in the 1st half. Let's see how it works.

Forgot about DT Daniel Wise, he had some nice plays, with rookie Mathis Phidarian (also had a solid game) + DEs Toohill and Smith-Williams, DL depth may not be the issue we thought it'd be when we lost both Settle and Ioannidis.

Oh, and Johnathan Allen is a freakin monster.

Ma gawd I hope David Mayo doesn't see the field at all this year. He got burnt against 2s and 3s... Just awful. Nate Gerry better climb that depth chart fast.

FWIW, I agree with everything you said. I think both of our lines (offense and defense) are going to be badass this season. We have talented, nasty linemen on both sides of the ball.

Are you going to be representing Commanders Nation in the Far East, now?

Yop, and let's hope the DL coach getting fired has them finally playing to their talent level.
I feel like Oline has been overplaying their talent and Dline underplaying so far, especially last year.

And yes, I'm proudly wearing my Burgundy and Gold throughout the land of the rising sun. Should probably change my signature.

Still not a fan of the name, but seeing them take the field as Commanders didn't feel as weird as I thought. The "color doesn't match even if they say it does" white jerseys aren't that bad, and the helmet are fire...

I'd like to get some input from you crazy people regarding our DE depth. I've been skeptical about that depth but I thought I saw some good work from James Smith-Williams and William Bradley-King in the first exhibition game. So, can I relax now?

Also, I have a couple of other questions for the peanut gallery:

I thought DT Daniel Wise had a good game, as well, so I'm wondering if he could play both inside at DT and outside at DE. He has the body for it and I liked his quickness in the game. Any thoughts on that?

Instead of having Shaka Toney languishing on the bench as a DE, why not move him to LB? We have a need there and Toney is an outstanding athlete who has just about the perfect body for the LB position. Maybe one of you Penn State followers could weigh in on this.

I like our depth across the D-line, both DEs and DTs.

Bada, Wise, Mathis, Obada - should be more than solid behind Allen/Payne. I honestly don't think we'll miss Matty I or T Settle. Of course injuries could change the dynamic quite a bit, but that could happen regardless.

Smith-Williams, Toohill, Bradley-King, Toney - should be fine behind Young/Sweat. I think the secondary will help them out considerably too, as I've heard nothing but good things about our secondary rotation. Big question is - When does Young come back and how effective will he be this year?

My opinion is that they have done a pretty good job shoring up the front end and the back end. Jury is still out on whether the lack of attention at the LB position will be a factor.

Like it or not Wentz is going to be under the microscope all season. Probably not fair to say he's the biggest concern in the NFL, that's definitely overblowing things, but the offseason drama won't go away until he plays well for an extended period of time and proves all the doubters wrong.

I agree with you that Daniel Wise had a solid game, and we know they like him quite a lot. But I don't see the urge to have him play at DE, we have more depth at DE than DT, so I'd keep him where he's good at and more needed.

As for Shaka Toney moving to off the ball LB, yes LB depth is a need, but there's never any guarantee those transitions are successful, quite different position and required skill set. This is not an educated opinion, just a hunch, but I don't see them trying him at another position in his second year, unless he is really disappointing in practice... Edge rusher is an important position in this league, and one that rotates quite a lot, so even as a 3rd stringer he'll see the field some (won't he? Could be wrong), and you never know exactly how long you're gonna be able to keep all those guys around.

Chase Young and Tyler Larsen have been placed on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list by the Commanders. Per league rules, both Young and Larsen must miss at least the team's first four games.

Toney -I would love to be able to keep him on our 53 as hes one of the few who shows he can get to the QB. he should be a pass rush specialist, who gets rotated in as down and distance dictate.

Lots of bodies ahead of him though.

Young
Sweat
Allen
Payne
Mathis
Smith Williams
Toohill

^^ are probably ahead of him.

Toney, Bradley-King, Wise ... probably only keeping one of these 3
