Packers Postgame

2 in a row. Feels good for a change. Offense is still average at best but glad the D stepped up.

Yeah, Heinecken is not that good, but he’s better then Wentz. What a coincidence that Terry rediscovered. Kudos to Terry, Samuels, Gibson, Dline and special teams.

Exactly. 2 in a row and a defense playing a lot better, I’ll take it.

It won’t be pretty with Heineke, he’s a gamer but he’s also limited.

The defense will

Terry big fucking game, game winning catches. Samuel getting some good touches

I love the 2 headed running game. Really like them running out the pistol with 2 TE

Jamin Davis flashing with some nice tackles

Dline didn’t get a sack, but applied constant stress.

SFREDSKIN 10-23-2022 05:51 PM

Re: Packers Postgame

Samuel threw some great blocks today that led to big plays.

I followed on redzone and my phone. Not the whole time, but enough to see that we appear to be mired in low end mediocrity. So apparently we are not the worst, not very good either. It’s a real shame because with a competent GM I think we have enough pieces already here to compete against most of the league.

The team just plays differently with Heinicke under center. He’s above average and he won’t get you to the promised land but the offense plays like men possessed when he’s under center.

If Wentz played today he would have been sacked 5-6 times and would have lost.

They are both terrible quarterbacks in their own right. Thank God for our running attack and our defense. And Terry. Gotta always thank Terry.

Edit: i wish I could combine Wentz’s deep ball and Taylors will. Wentz has zero will and TH has zero arm strength. He hit Terry today on a nice ball but that was an outlier.

Did we play the second half with lots more tempo or was that me speed-watching on DVR?

Yep !!!! Once he got settled he threw enough good balls for us to win ! But the packers are bad ..

Four games left I feel semi decent about
Indy
Houston
Atl
Cleveland
Of course things can change from week to week but injuries and such aside….
We finish 7-10 and Ron gonna be around because they will act like Wentz getting hurt was an issue…

Sounds like a worst case scenario.

Awful game. Flags throw on every other play. Taylor stinks. GB could've had two more picks. I want to see Howell. Just run the ball and try and play defense.

Also the Packers are done. Move on from Rodgers after this year.

We may not see him the remainder of the year. He isn't good enough anymore to command the contract he's getting.

Re: Packers Postgame

I don't care if anybody says I change my mind faster than Brady unretires, but what a great freakin W!

This is the beauty of this sport, it's not all about stats, you put one guy on the field and the whole team looks like it's on steroids. Heinickeee gets in and suddenly Andrew "FatAss" Norwell ain't that bad, Saahdiq "SlowMoHands" Charles can decently block, and Bobby "WaitWhatWasThePlayAgain" McCain can communicate with his fellow DBs !

To pull that victory after an horrible start is impressive IMO. Let the Heinickeee Fan Club rise from it's ashes, we going to the Superbowl !

I'm not overreacting. You're underreacting.

My only negative is I might have to watch the All 22 of that S.

Re: Packers Postgame

On a more serious note, we say this every year but it's crazy how week to week the league is, you can remember it all you want during the offseason, until you see it happen again in the regular season it's hard to grasp... I didn't think we stood a chance.

I hope you are right, and I agree that I would love to see what Howell can do. I been saying he’s would be our best QB despite being a rookie and would give this team another dimension.

He’s a better athlete and passer than TH. Only issue is he doesn’t know the O as well. But I bet we will see him somehow soon

Stronger, better arm, better “decision maker”. Turner should focus on running more with both Gibson and Robinson and pass when necessary. I think Howell is pretty smart and can pick things up quickly. Even with Heinecken the offense is better off, even if he makes bad decisions.

Meks 10-23-2022 09:09 PM

Re: Packers Postgame

Concur with TH injecting life into the team. He's just that type of player and guy. If Turner can call the RIGHT game for him we can still win some games. Shame his arm just isn't there... really is.

Right now, TH is missing Dotson, Brown, Thomas, Cosmi, Schweitzer. Let’s see what he looks like with those guys back. Also, to be fair this was his first game starting, he got better with more reps.

They are financially tied to Rodgers. If he retires or is cut the dead cap is 99k next year

It is. Because we aren’t good. A good team would have been so far ahead of us after the first half today.
We beat the Bears and they flat stink. We beat GB who believe it or not stinks too. At least recently they do.
Our offense with either quarterback is just not good enough to beat too many teams. Next week is winnable because we get our third crap team in a row. Im not even mixing the koolaid let alone drinking any. There is no way the team from today even sniffs a W against Dallas, NY, or Philly, or the other solid teams on our schedule. Beating these crap teams is actually only prolonging the agony that is this staff and moving us further away from the franchise quarterback.

Ill see myself out.

That's quite an understatement ^^ Great point about the missing pieces.

Also, have we heard anything about Trai Turner, even banged up he was really good early in the year, I understand he was awful against the Cowboys, but do we know if he's continued benching is more health related, play related or faith in Saahdiq Charles ?

He's had a quad injury, they are fine without him.

Yeah I thought the injury was behind him but you're right apparently it's still health related :

"Trai isn't quite where he needs to be yet," Rivera told reporters postgame when asked about why he made the switch.

"My coach just told me I didn't look like myself," he said. "Truth is the truth. If I don't look like myself, then I don't look like myself. It's not like it's an oblivious reason, like, 'What's going on?' Everybody knows what I've been dealing with."

Re: Packers Postgame

DUB!

D played well (again). Packers - no third-down conversions for the first time since 1999. And scored only 14 points.

Offense did just enough...But Heinicke was making me nervous as hell. He could have had like 4 INTs. I think he did provide that much needed spark, but I was wondering in the 1st quarter if we were going to see Howell. TH was that bad early. He played better as the game progressed. Hopefully that trend continues.

I don't want to hear how bad GB is...Fuck that. They have their #1 QB, D is solid...we had plenty of starters missing too...

Nice win. If you don't think so, you'll never be satisfied.

This stood out to be both times. Says a lot about a WR when they block like that.

Rodgers was Check-Down Susie yesterday. And his demeanor was straight up doo-doo-butter.

I like winning.
