COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
After 13 weeks we sit at 7-5-1
The next 4 weeks are HUGE for our playoff chances. V NYG @ SF V CLE V DAL 3 of 4 at home. How are we feeling folks? After a shitty start this team is playing well. Only 1 loss in the last 8 weeks. I think we win 3 of the next 4 and make the 7th seed |
Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
Jimmy G injury changes the outlook for the xmas eve game for sure. Dallas could have the division wrapped up by the time we play them making the game meaningless for him. I think we need to win 3 out of 4 to lock up a playoff spot.

Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
Evident others thought it was a good game between Washington and the Giants even if the two teams didn't.

Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
I'm shocked this team won 7 games.
Two muffed punts gave us two wins but a win is a win. I'm tempted to go to the SF game on Xmas Eve. Fuck Snyder btw. |

I'm confident we'll win 3 of the next 4 games to stamp our playoffs ticket. Two more wins probably will do it, as I feel Seattle and the Giants will lose two or more of their remaining games. |
Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
In the rare occasion that a division game ends in a tie and they still have to play each other again. I feel the outcome of the next game should count as 2 W's or 2 L's. I have emailed this suggestion to Pete Rozelle for his thoughts before taking it to the rules committee. He hasn't gotten back yet.

Dallas won't catch Philly but they will have their playoff spot locked for sure |
Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
Washington ranks 17th in red zone efficiency under QB Taylor Heinicke, converting 50 percent of its trips into TDs. For the season they're 19th at 52.9 percent (they were 17th in 1st 6 games at 57.1. In last 8 games, they rank 10th in # of red zone plays. Just need to convert.

The next 4 weeks are HUGE for our playoff chances. V NYG @ SF V CLE V DAL 3 of 4 at home. How are we feeling folks?
NYG - feels truly like a 50/50 game. @ SF - will be interesting to see who they become on offense over next few games. Glad we will have some tape on this Durby guy. CLE - hopefully we win and Watson stays shitty DAL - thats an L is boys play their starters * I dont think we win any games where opponent scores more than 20 ** I dont think we score more than 20 points going forward unless D or St chips in All I ask for is meaningful games .. and thats what we are getting. Im happy. I say we end 9-7-1 and who knows about playoffs |
Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
Injuries entering yesterday:
Mline, Trai Turner, St Juste out * Larsen to be added it seems * Cosmi? --------------- Thankfully Schweitzer is back. He can hold down the C imo. https://www.hogshaven.com/2022/12/2/23490060/washington-commanders-vs-new-york-giants-friday-injury-report-3-players-have-been-ruled-out |
Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
The Giants game is HUGE !! I will be there!!! We need two wins to have any shot .. 3 we are in !! I just wish Taylor could find a way to not overthrow the wide open receivers.. fix that and we could go a long ways !!!

I saw something in our first game with them, although Cooper Rush was under center for Dallas that day. Wentz shitted the bed like no other and I think if both us and them go into the game relatively healthy then we take the rematch. |

So the Dolphins didn’t have enough tape on him, so give him a few games and see how he handles it. 49ers have a great D, OL, running game and receivers. All Purdy has to do is manage the game. |
Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
With the OL banged up, the bye week comes at a good time. Will they move Schweitzer to C? Martin is a liability, maybe consider activating Chris Paul to play G if necessary?

Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
Imagine being able to score 26 points a game. And yes, they were a play or two away from winning a 2-3 more games, but they were also a play or two away from losing 4-5 more games (they tried SOOO hard to throw that bears game).
I think 2-2 is most likely, 4-0 is possible, but stars have to align (49ers poop themselves w/o JG, giants play just ever so slightly worse, dallas rests starters or do one of those oops, 4 int jobs, cleveland D doesn't show up, etc). guessing giants, SF, cle, dallas in that order of likely win % (only because a good DL/pass rush tends to be overly effective vs inexperienced QBs). |

Sheesh. Have we scored 33 yet this season? Our offense is just so limited. I think SF and Dallas are the big tests. SF may have a lot to play for to clinch the division as the Seahawks keep winning too. They’re only a game behind. We have to hope that the SF rookie plays like a rookie 7th rounder, that Tuggy in Cleveland continues to soil himself on the field, and that Dallas decides to rest everyone. But first, we need to pound the Giants. And for some odd reason, I think they will. I think the Eagles are going to demolish them, and we will finish off their spiral using season. Or at least, that’s my hope. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
I'd rather face trey Lance than anyone else in SF lol. It's coaching and scheme and unfortunately for us at the end of the year Kyle is one of the best. Gonna be a tough one. I hope fans show up for the giants game.. may try to get tickets and make the trip and just take off Monday as long as they're not astronomically over charged. Absolute robbery on titans and vikings games but that's just how it is I guess and now we're here. They never, ever, seem to make it easy on us I'm at this point.. ? Praying lol

Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
If our offense could just score 24 PPG consistently we would be 9-3 also

Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
Finally someone noticing his contribution, number of sacks shouldn't be used to judge his game.

But 1 of them is likely gone in the next couple years. Payne is a must keep in my eyes. Imo, it comes down to production vs. potential. For keeping Sweat or Young. |

Letting go of Wentz, trading Roullier and Logan Thomas should create some cap space, plus the cap is going up. We don’t have any expensive OL, making them equivalent and roll with young guys. |

COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
Go Eagles, Go Panthers. If Carolina can win tonight we are looking at a real good situation if we beat the Vagiants next week at home. Even if Seattle wins we are still in a great position if we win next week. Basically three weeks preparing for the same team and a bye week while they get beat up by Philly. No excuses for Ron and Co to come out flat next week.

Agreed. Lose that game, and they don't belong in the conversation - at all. |

Payne is much better lined up at nose in the 0-1 tech much like Allen which gives us redundancy. Mathis is a much more natural 3 tech which is what Payne has been playing for most of his career. I really don't know what they will do. |

Rooting for Panthers, Vikings, Texans, Eagles (:puke:), and Buccaneers this week.

If we have no stud OL player to pay, use the money on the DL/DE and draft Young inexpensive OLinemen. Young’s contract might not be so bad as he’s coming from injury and who knows how long before he regains his old form. |

Going cheap two years in a row on Oline is a bold move! In all honesty though that is probably the only way they afford all three down the road. It could definitely be worth the risk if Howell pans out and can get quality draft. |
