Re: Tucker Carlson .Fired!
Will be interesting to see who will replace the ratings King. Tucker has now worked for all the cable outlet news…CNN, MSNBC and heaveyweight FOX.

Re: Tucker Carlson .Fired!
I know why it's all that really matters, but I wish ratings weren't what moved the needle on what shows are on the political stations.
This would be a great opportunity to put on a show that people might actually learn something they don't know. Would love a show with democrat and republican joint hosts, where people are interviewed 50/50 on the issues of the day/future/etc. Instead, it will just get replaced w/ the same show, different face. |

Say what you will, but Tucker calls out the GOP constantly. Even his speech over the weekend at the Heritage he described current Republican Party as “yuck.” Off the top my head he’s crushed Gov Abott and Lindsey Graham in the last ten days on his show So if you get offended by that, I get it. |

You remember Jon Stewart coming on it an attacking Tucker back then and said that debate show was bad for the country? Man how wrong Jon Stewart? He epitomized the affront to giving both sides equal time. I would love crossfire back, Maddow and Carlson (who if you didn’t know are friends and got along well when they worked together). But these days it’s hard to find Democrats who will even defend their positions of killing babies up onto the point of birth, sex changes for 9 years old, legislation against gas stoves, the world will end in 7 years due to climate change, etc. |

I like the idea of that type show. But you would need 2 hosts that could actually work together. I don't have an interest in it if it's just going to be the hosts shouting over each other. It could just be 2 hosts interviewing 1 person, so each person has to answer questions from both sides of the aisle on each topic. Not opposed to 2 people being interviewed at once (like an actual debate type set-up), but that's harder to control. You would have to have microphones that automatically cut-off after 1 minute (or whatever the time is) with no exceptions. Not even controlled by the hosts, it just automatically shuts off when your time has elapsed. |

I'd like to think it was the whole "hey maybe tone it down, we just lost 750+ million and there's more lawsuits to settle." But reports say it was because he was shit-talking Fox execs. Guess Ingraham/etc. know what not to do now. Either way, a seminal moment for cable "news" shows between him and Lemon being fired. Don't worry Chico, CNN will replace Lemon with someone you equally dislike. Life goes on. |

He criticized the arguing of positions and counter points. Which led hyper-partisan bubbles. He admitted to this later, he was wrong It’s hilarious to me you see it as a favorite…yes he owned the show with insults, little substance why excusing his own partisanship saying “ I’m just doing comedy “…it was very Trumpy of him I watched Stewart a lot, it was good and now when see him, it’s a sad. Don Lemon will be replaced by Don Lime and Tucker Carlson will be replaced by Cucker Tarlson.
Everything will revert back to normal shortly. |

On Crossfire they actually had some semblance of reasonable back and forth with concession on quality points made by one another. On his Fox show he just became a megaphone for falsehoods. And the very fact that he changed so much from show to show should be a reminder that first and foremost those shows are in business to make money and maximize viewers, so the sensational gets disproportionate play. They shouldn't be taken very seriously. |
Re: Tucker Carlson .Fired!
Whenever there is a show with reasonable back and forth I’ll watch…I think Bill Maher has done a better job over the last 5-6 years to bring some semblance of equal time.
He cuts thru a lot of the bullshit |

Re: Tucker Carlson .Fired!
So Nicki Haley started the late term abortion debate up again a bit today. One of my pet peeves are people and especially the media using a statistical trick to support a position. So it is being reported that 62-80% (Depending on the poll) of Americans support most or all abortions to fight the argument against late term elective abortions. Do you see the trick used to defend late term abortions?

as a person who works with numbers all day never trust percentages; we manipulate % in power points all the time to stress a point example 67% of folks enjoy shit in their chicken oh wow! that is weird well only 3 people were asked and 2 of them enjoyed the shit; oh by the way the 3 people asked were clinically insane |
