Trying to delete the separate thread I just started. The guy has a reputation for developing QBs and we will need that. Hope this goes well.

Really points to a strong chance they take Caleb if Chicago doesn't.

As long as we aren't planning on trading up, I'm ok with this.

Not a fan of his offense at all. And really not a fan of KK either. Just wasn't impressed with him when I watched Hard Knocks in season. It's going to be more 4 and 5 wr's sets, chuck and duck. His offense is the QB goes to the line and claps to snap the ball. Just a bunch of college shit where protecting the QB didn't really seem like it was important.

Re: Kliff Kingsbury Thread

Good hire with the idea of developing young QB talent like Sam and our no 2 draft pick. I expect an aggressive air attack and with a complementary running game with RB who also contribute in the passing game.

Quinn and KK combo should be very entertaining.

Re: Kliff Kingsbury Thread

It’s a Big hire though, when would anyone like KK come to DC before?

Also the list of QBs he’s had is legit

Baker
Kyler
Mahomes
Caleb

In AZ they had a top 10 offense twice with him as the HC / OC.

I’m just happy they passed on Chip Kelly and Matt Canada. Those would have been disappointing and disastrous hires.

They’re signaling that they are taking an RPO QB. I hope they’re not Dan Snyder stupid, and give up ANY assets to move up. I would be happy at this point to land Daniels at 2, or, if Chicago doesn’t trade out, I guess the better passer in Caleb.
Guy seems like a head case with tons of talent. May flame out on us, but as others are clamoring, we gotta shoot our shot..

Yes, a version of Mike Leach’s air raid offense, if remembering correctly.
In vino veritas?🫣🍷😁

Developing young QBs and a relationship with the best young QB in the draft

The most important next move is the QB selected .. KK might not have been a great HC but he has worked with some dang good QB's !!

I’d be more excited if we were a college. Has he contributed to any success to a QB in the NFL? Maybe Murray?

Well EB coached Mahomes in the NFL how did that work for us .. I realize Howell wasn't Mahomes but evidently EB thought he was ..

Another question for those who know: Is Kingsbury a Peter's hire or a Quinn hire
Another question for those who know: Is Kingsbury a Peter's hire or a Quinn hire
Great question. I lean more towards Peters. Truly think he is running the show as he should be. Quinn and Kingsbury will be an interesting 1-2 punch. Do like KK's experience working with bigtime qbs. Offseason is already off to a surprising start. Hiring Kingsbury totally came out nowwhere but am intrigued by this hire.

I'm not in the know, but I would hope that the Head Coach has a say in who his coordinators are, if not be the one to pick them.

Am I a conspiracy theorist if I wonder whether the EB/Chip/Canada/Brian Johnson interviews were in part designed to have the fanbase welcome KK with open arms. A least a couple were for the rooney rule, if it even applies to OCs, but it seems that Quinn had KK lined up prior to getting the job. Soon as DQ gets confirmed, KK pulls out of LV job.

This is why I asked the question. One has to hope that Quinn had at least some say and that they he knows he can have a good working relationship with Kingsbury. If it's Peter's dictating the style then that doesn't set a good tone.

Most failed head coaches got the job in the first place because they were brilliant coordinators, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Two very different jobs

Both coordinators were Quinn or he was the primary say in the room
Both coordinators were Quinn or he was the primary say in the room
The new DC has to be from Quinn and the speed at which it happened after DQ signed his deal then KK backed out of the LV job would indicate DQ had him lined up for wherever he landed. I'm sure this was part of the interview process for DQ, its one of the major questions to ask when interviewing the HC candidates

I don't know how much coaching EB provided Mahomes, Reid designed the offense and did the play calling and Matt Nagy was the QB coach that cultivated him while he sat the first year.

He definitely has a great eye at the college level I just don't know how much of what he did in college with his athletes is important for their success at the pro level. I just remember him really struggling in Arizona with the pro game.

This is a good read on Kliff's air raid scheme from the 2021 season.

https://weeklyspiral.com/2021/09/24/the-good-and-bad-of-kliff-kingsbury-and-arizona-offense/

Has some good and some bad about the system he ran, I am sure it won't be the same as what we run. We don't have AJ Green, Hopkins or Zach Ertz. I would also assume he has learned from what hasn't worked.

Not really sure about this hire, how does this guy keep getting jobs with a mediocre resume? But I'll stay in wait and see mode.
