Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
We definitely still suck. Defense is terrible, and our offense consistency is non-existent.

Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
The honeymoon that never happened.. It's gonna be a long time, at least Snyder is gone
|
Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
Absolutely nothing positive to be said about that shit show.
:Flush: |
Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
Outside of Mike Sainristil, you could trade the other 10 guys and we wouldn't be any worse. Where the fuck where Luvu, Payne, and Allen? Our* supposed big 3.
Mike Sainristil didn't look good either, but he has an excuse. 1st game and he's playing with a bunch of bums. * Posting while drinking is very risky, sports, politics, or any other subject lol |
Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
We literally played against a team that was one drive away from the nfc title game in their house in year one of a full rebuild with a rookie QB and they have a HOF WR and we have terrible corners, and our kicker missed 2 FGs
What did you all honestly expect was gonna happen?? |
Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
It’s a fresh start with a shit roster.
I wish we had more weapons for JD. |
Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
I'm not the least bit disheartened by today's game. We got beaten by a better team. It's that simple.
We've just gotten started under competent management so we'll get better over time. |

What did you all honestly expect was gonna happen??
Good points. This week was not a code red although some of the comments in here suggest otherwise. The D was dreadful and we need a kicker. Both can and should improve (we will have a different kicker next week I’d imagine, at least). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
we were able to score some points. we knew the team is missing a #1 CB and the bucs have pretty good WRs. rookie QB first start... his throws could have been better, but I'm not doom and gloom over it. Definitely things that need to be fixed. 3rd down penalties were also incredibly bad.
Browns looked soo much worse, and they're paying a bad QB infinity dollars. I still think the trend is up, but we need another year for experience and to fill the remaining roster holes. |

Funny thing is, if York hits those two FGs and JD doesn't overthrow Terry coming out of halftime, it's a much closer game. The secondary looked bad, but give Baker credit. After his first couple throws, he put the ball on the money all day. It felt like the D actually got to him a lot, but he was able to escape and make get the ball to his playmakers. JD, not so much. His legs are definitely a weapon, but I don't want to see him running that much anymore. Zero reason your QB should have more carries than both your RBs combined. If they keep that up, he won't make it past week 4. |
Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
The Bucs defense was down way more guys than us. Still played way better. The problem is not that our guys were lost on defense, the problem is that we have really bad football players on defense. They're not lost, they just suck.
Forbes and Juste both starting on the outside unsustainable. They both are not NFL starters. The DL is so fucking overrated, it's not even funny. Allen can keep his fucking mouth shut all season. All he does is talks. But 90% of the games, we barely even hear his name. I'm glad we drafted Newton. If our defense looks anything like this all season, I'm trading Allen during the season and trading Payne in the off-season. Start fresh with Newton/Mathis and anyone else you draft or sign. And let's stop acting like Bucs were elite super bowl contenders last year. they were 9-8. We got our asses whipped by a decent to pretty good team. It was an embarrassing effort. By the way, where the fuck was Luvu?!? I think I heard his name once tonight. |
Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
Please explain how a top Athlete like Daniels can't slide or be taught to so he doesn't get mauled ...do the coaches not try and address this ?
|
Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
That defense we put out there was so offensive it reminded me of last year.
I expected the offense to struggle somewhat but I really thought Quinn and Whitt would have the defense solidified. Baker Mayfield is a 2 td guy and he put up 5. Just bad. Lotta work to do. My only hope for this year was to be competitive every week. Keep the games close. We still have a long way to go to even reach that point. |

Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
Team came out flat and unprepared.
I swear to fucking hell, it looked like a Rivera coached/prepared team. Sorry, that defense effort was inexcusable period. Whitt and Quinn were bad. I’m throughly pissed we are giving up 3rd and 17 first downs again. Bucs are a good defense, but they aren’t a top offensive team period. The excuse making in here talking up the Bucs…Baker looked like Montana. |
Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
I took a nap during the 2nd half and woke up and the Cowboys were on. Same old same old.

It's one week (and Week 1, so I'm in no way panicking), but I hope folks aren't overrating the Bucs due to them busting our butts today. Frankly, I still view the Bucs as as 9-8 team this season. |
Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
JD is gonna get injured if he keeps running. Concussion for sure with the way he gets down. Even today he took some glancing blows.
Not encouraging, especially from the folks who claimed he is pass first QB. Sorry if you are mid way thru the 3rd quarter and you have more running yards than passing, then you are a running QB. If you lead the team in rushing and you’re the QB, then you are a running QB. Garbage time passing yards |

Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
It was understood back in the day that you don’t take a rookie QB and throw him in as a starter. Speed of the game, new system, building cred and confidence as a leader, etc. Now it’s expected for a first-rounder, with the explanation that he needs playing time and first-team reps to learn the game.
Only now he doesn’t even have time to learn the game. At least according to some of us. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
You cannot rebuild an entire roster in a year. Rivera left us nothing minus a few guys. Christian Gonzalez would be helpful right about now. It is going to take a couple years to fix things, If we want to do it right.

Until we're 3 games over .500, I don't trust 1 fucking word anyone says positive this wretched franchise (including myself). We fucking suck for all eternity until we're 3 games over.

In 2027 we will be 7-4 (on our way to 7-10). You heard it here first. |
Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
Missed the game, just watched the 12 minute YouTube highlight package, the most impressive thing that stood out to me was Baker Mayfield.Mayfield was dropping dimes, every completion was perfectly placed and receivers were making great catches,itÂ’s hard to defend that,I thought the run defense looked worse than the pass defense.
Daniels did not play that well, yes obviously he has running ability, But he was pulling the ball down way too often and looking to run first rather than pass, I donÂ’t know if that was because the receiver's were not getting open or him not being patient in the pocket and panicking.I hate to say it,but RG3 was more impressive in his first game than this kid,but itÂ’s his first game so IÂ’m not gonna over react to his performance. |
Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
lose one game and the sky is falling. If we won it'd be superbowl or bust?
whole new staff, over 50% roster change (and still missing a couple parts that we knew about going in) and this is the first time out (with a rookie QB). It's a recipe for a slow start. (It's also possible the bucs are good, but more likely CB play is just going to be an issue all year). we'll see how week 2, 3, 5,and 7 work out. |
Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
I haven't been on here lately due to coaching again and sundays we have film and gameplan so I didn't get to see much until I watched it last night..
Few things I saw 1. JD5 Is going to be Lamar 2.0, literally almost identical players but he better learn how to slide or else he won't last that long 2. The defense is awful, I was very disappointed with that performance from a dan quinn defense. 3 . We have no WRs outside of 17, thats a huge problem. Overall I wasn't surprised at the loss but the way they lost I was. This team is still bad. 6-7 Wins is the ceiling with that schedule. |

Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
Baker was definitely sharp, not much coverage can do when a QB is that on point.
|
Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
i can remember when someone mentioned Baker coming here it was not well received.. truth is it won't matter who plays QB this team has very little Talent and Mahomes couldn't drag this corpse across the goal .. 3-4 wins at most and We get beat next week ..The damage has been done every thing since the day Snyder bought this club has inflicted long lasting damage and it will take YEARS to overcome that . realistically we need To hope that within 2 more drafts and free agency before we can truly start getting pumped ..

I think by next yr you will see a much better team overall. This year they'll be picking in the top 10 again unless something crazy happens in the secondary |
lose one game and the sky is falling. If we won it'd be superbowl or bust?
Yeah, not a lot of middle ground in here usually on Sunday evenings/Monday mornings. I'm not sure what the expectations were, but anyone who thought a 4-win team was going to go into a legit playoff team's house on opening day with a new everything and win, was just fooling themselves. There were some breakdowns in the secondary, some stupid and untimely penalties, and JD looked like a rookie. Other than that, I actually thought the team was competitive and that was all I was hoping for in week 1. Lotta work to do. |
Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
Same story every year, everyone overreacts week in and week out lol
Long way to go |
Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
Not surprised. Had a feeling. Bet the feeling same with the browns game..
ZEROOOOOO pressure 90% of the game ZEROOOOOO creativity on D ... no stunts, no blitzes, nothing 90% of the game ZEROOOOOO o-line 90% of the game And our corners sucked 99% of the game. All concerns we all know existed, I was sad to get blown out, but ZEROOOOOO surprise here. 6 wins maybe for this team. |
Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
We didn't play best game, while Bucs played a great game, which made a bad combination for us. Evidently, we have a lot of work to do and I expect the team to improve throughout the season. Although I'm very concerned about our CBs and kicker. It seems like Forbes was benched at one point. And York, just find someone else before this Sunday so we can get our 7th round pick back.
Same story every year, everyone overreacts week in and week out lol
Long way to go
Agreed. All I cared about this game, aside from a potential win, is to see how JD performed. He didn't turn the ball over, had some decent numbers, and overall did not look like a deer looking at the headlights out there. Our roster is bad and couldn't have been fixed in one offseason. And yes, RR f*cked up, but if he hadn't we wouldn't be here with a new ownership. So people should quit beating that dead horse. Looking forward to the next game, I want to see growth from this team. |

Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
Well, it could be worse. I just saw a crazy stat - Daniel Jones has thrown more pick 6s than TDs since signing his deal.
Will be interesting to see how the team (D in particular) responds next week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Postgame Thread - Week 1 vs. Bucs
We changed out 34 players on last year's roster. True we could have made it 35 and gotten rid of Forbes but Who were you going to replace them with Someone older who probably has lost a step Or an unproven fourth round rookie That just weren't enough slots and talent in the system to replace everything and for whatever reason they decided to leave Forbes and St. Juste probably because they have talent and that they could coach them up, which is a big Mistake that coaches often make

Sent from my SM-S711U using Tapatalk
I have faith in Peters to talent evaluate. I am leaning that it has to do with where and when they want to spend the money. We could've replaced Forbes and St Juste now but maybe there are talents becoming FA next offseason or even eyeballing in a trade that would be better fits. Rookie contracts etc etc In general to the There is a lot to like from what I saw while yes still being disappointed in the product. I would've loved to seen Terry get more targets than 4. Defense I would've loved to see them get off the field after 3rd downs but on 61 plays they had 1 sack, 8 TFL, 2 PD, 4 QB hits. That is pressure on 25% of plays IDK what the league average is but it is better than Tampa |
