Our surprising 12-5 is mainly due to who?
12-5 and the 6th seed. A surprising finish most didn’t see.
What one player or coach is mainly responsible for that? |
Re: Our surprising 12-5 is mainly due to who?
I mean are we just stating the obvious here ???
I will go first BSJ , without him we be 17-0 and would never learned from our 5 losses |
Re: Our surprising 12-5 is mainly due to who?
Players: Jayden Daniels (duh), Luvu, Wagner, McLaurin
Coaches: Quinn/KK I give a lot of the credit other than JD to Adam Peters. He transformed this team into a much better team from last year. I went to the Titans game and was impressed with the in game experience at NW Field also. 12-5 is pretty sweet. |
Re: Our surprising 12-5 is mainly due to who?
I think it’s primarily due to Jayden. Without him, there’s no way we are 12-5. We are likely 6-11/7-10/8-9 without Jayden.

If anyone disagrees, please jump in, but way too many threads are being created right now. There are plenty of already open threads you can fit a lot of these ideas into.

Re: Our surprising 12-5 is mainly due to who?
You can't really reduce the success down to 1 or 2 men. I mean, yes you can say without JD5 we wouldn't be here. But AP and the coaching staff were certain he was their guy. and you can't ignore the work AP and the whole coaching staff have done in the draft and FA, not to mention being able to put out a more than serviceable OL from what was left last year. Were this year 2 or 3 we'd be giddy for where we are, never mind year 1! Yes we know there are things still to be addressed, on the roster, coaching staff (will KK leave?), and the stadium etc. But right now I'd say it's roughly even between this mainly sitting on the shoulders of AP, DQ, and JD. Bring on the Buccs!

The Only thing I'd add is the New Ownership Group have also had a Really Big Impact on the Success this Season! The new ownership group hired the right individuals, and then let them do their jobs! Unlike Danny Boy! |
Re: Our surprising 12-5 is mainly due to who?
Unbelievable 12 wins. Blown away
|
Re: Our surprising 12-5 is mainly due to who?
It all starts at the top and works its way down. Ownership, GM, HC, QB, when you have those all in place you have the opportunity for real success.
Just amazing in year 2 of new ownership everything seems to be locked in. |
Re: Our surprising 12-5 is mainly due to who?
The person responsible for our 12-5 record is very clear to me. It is Dan Snyder. He sold the team and the results are now official. Now we can finally say to Dan Snyder, thank you for finally making us a winner!

Re: Our surprising 12-5 is mainly due to who?
Imagine putting a bicycle together from a kit with instructions in Chinese, getting it finished in under an hour with no leftover parts, greasing the chain, jumping on and having a smooth ride.
Whatever happens in the playoffs and with future editions of this team, the JD5 rookie season will become a very special memory. This kind of football good fortune is extremely rare, so savor it and don’t stress too much about the Bucs game. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Our surprising 12-5 is mainly due to who?
The way that Mariota has run the offense when he comes in I would say Kliff Kingsbury

Re: Our surprising 12-5 is mainly due to who?
Josh Harris
|
Re: Our surprising 12-5 is mainly due to who?
While i know Josh Harris hired him (so he has to get a ton of credit), but Adam Peters orchestrated a magical 1st off-season! I hope it was a glimpse of what we will see with him on repeat and not just luck!! I believe we will be contenders year in and year out with AP in charge (i hope anyway)!!

This franchise is fortunate to have him and Harris.

Jayden Daniels Mom & Dad. Excellent work!

Re: Our surprising 12-5 is mainly due to who?
Josh Harris set it all in motion, but it’s all the parts fitting together.

Lol . . . Jayden Daniels Mom was implicated in the ASU COVID recruiting scandal. Lots around here believe it is why he transferred to LSU. When the COVID shut down was in full swing teams where not allowed to bring in recruits for meetings and so on, so JD's Mom would call the recruits and bring them in, get them a hotel, etc. Then the coaches from ASU would "stumble upon them" and "chat unexpectedly" . . . LOL . . . it worked out well for JD either way!! |
Re: Our surprising 12-5 is mainly due to who?
Jayden's mom gives me helicopter parent vibes.

Re: Our surprising 12-5 is mainly due to who?
Its all about the culture DQ and AP have brought to WSH. JD5 was the icing on the cake. This is the first 12 win season as a fan of this team for 30 years... It feels damn good. I actually felt proud wearing my Terry jersey in dallas.

No that was god given athletic ability lol Mom and dad helped sure but that dude is a freak |
Re: Our surprising 12-5 is mainly due to who?
His mom must be Pat Benatar because she told Jayden's dad:
Hit Me With Your Best Shot! Why Don't You Hit Me With Your Best Shot! Hit Me With Your Best Shot! Fire Away! |
Re: Our surprising 12-5 is mainly due to who?
Going be a philosophical here. When the "adults" are in charge, the chances of success for the offspring are much greater. Good parents that are not dysfunctional have a better chance of raising kids that will be successful. Good organizations that are not dysfunctional also have a better chance of developing a team that will be successful. Pretty simple.

Re: Our surprising 12-5 is mainly due to who?
hate to be "that guy" but another reason is easily the fact that we had the absolutely easiest schedule in the NFL (SOS = 32)

Re: Our surprising 12-5 is mainly due to who?
I think the people that we should celebrate are the same positions that we consistently spoke against for 25ish years. I think that a complete turnaround starts at the top and works its way down. We have a competent owner now, that puts people in positions to succeed instead of trying to squeeze every last cent out of every last pack of peanuts. So, I would say that we would have to look at the Harris ownership group as the focal point for turning a corner. If not for them, would AP have come here to GM this organization? Would this franchise be somewhere that coaches and players looked to come to instead of washed up re-hashes looking for a payday?
The culture shift I think is directly correlated to him purchasing the team and putting the right people in the right places to start a rebuild successfully. Remember when Harris employed former Golden State Warriors GM Bob Meyers and former Vikings GM Rick Spielman to help search for the new coach, and how that seemed like an odd play? Turns out Harris knew what he was doing, and how he wanted to approach owning this franchise. Immediately he put the wheels in motion to right the ship. I'd have to say he is the singular reason that everything has started to turn around. Now we can just hope that with more pieces being put into the correct places that they can build sustained success. |
